Custom XFX Aluminum Backplate Design

Protects your GPU while providing additional cooling overall

GPUs are one of the most important, complex and delicate pieces of hardware in your computer and as a game, nothing is as important and the slightest bend can drastically affect the performance of your graphics card. But that's a thing of the past because XFX's solid backplate keeps the card strong and secure, eliminating card bend. Graphics cards also emit some heat from the back as well which rises up and affects other components but our cool aluminum backplate can absorb that heat and keep the overall case cooler.

today I'm in a hurry and I'm freaking not finished with packing up because I need to go but you know my hands bruised up and all like broken and but I'm gonna bring you guys an RX 570 XFX RS edition graphics card unboxing so the story here is that I just got this off Best Buy just today because I really need some graphics card really quick because you know if you in price shut up so I kind of want to join the mining craze again so I bought two of these actually

one of them is already in the system and yeah I'm gonna run them from mining but for now I'm gonna unbox it and show you guys real quick so here it is the box itself it's an XFX card so it has the XFX logo obviously and also it shows that this is the RS version so this is not the most extreme xxx or GTR whatever title I can't remember honestly you know XFX branding is really confusing I don't understand about the hell is are I supposed to stand for but anyways

yeah it's the RS version it's basically the lowest 570 they have I think but on the back you got these feature sets so it goes for terminal solution technology auto load sensing patters auto fan I mean come on every graphics card has that and basically no specifications what whatsoever about what's the graphics card inside and another interesting thing is that they actually show this part which is the hard swap interchangeable fan but the funny thing is that this card

doesn't actually have it you can't replace a fan with the hard swap thing that except a cast because even in a front picture you don't see the hard top fans that XFX usually show so I'm not sure what the hell is going on with this I don't understand why is it in here and I'm pretty sure XFX could eventually get sued by someone someone really wanted to because it's basically misinformation in a false advertising but anyways let's get inside and see what's what so this I've already opened the seal obviously XFX like embossed on the brown box inside you get a

warranty card the solution guide and also warning about using the latest driver which I really like because I really don't like the integrated you know CD drivers that comes with most graphics version I think those are really really stupid because you wouldn't want to ever use that also here this is the accessory box and there we go the driver disks which it actually shows which version that has inside which I really like but you shouldn't use that whatsoever just downplay this one they also have a dual 6 pin 2 8 pin power adapter which you know I mean

most CPU I mean most computers with a single a pin a single 6 p.m. or a dual six people most probably half an 8 pin so you wouldn't really need to use that realistically you could just plug in your a pin to graphics card and it should be fine and dandy initials work anyways here's the graphics card itself it's inside the anti-static plastic wrap as usual and now I can't open our box fully its and yeah it's basically install in here the graphics card is also just packed like this no foam or anything it's just inside this in an anti-static plastic wrap and you see there's no

accessories under here trust me I checked the accessories are pretty limited because this is quite well relatively cheap graphics card this is 250 that's what I got from Best Buy well 244 and more like 260 once I figure out the tax and other things and yeah you know it's one on the cheaper end of the graphics cards although all the AMD card says basically gone up in price as you all know but here it is it looks really nice in my opinion I really like the red kind of goes

well with my thumb doesn't it well my thumb is like bleeding in this because I cut my cell phone with some boxes apparently anyways so yeah go see back because this still has to film on it and yeah on the back you got some ventilation slots XFX logo which is the right setup you put it in so it's going to look nice I guess a DVI one HDMI two and three display ports so this is DV a also doesn't support any DVI to VGA adapter because that's what all the graphics cards these

they have because it's all like skipped hannah the analog part and on the bottom PCI connector as usual and you could see that there's a next FX logo but unlike their higher end cards it doesn't actually light up there's no LED behind it so it's just like a white XFX logo you know I mean I would prefer if this was like just glossy black or something and or if it's red even because it doesn't match in my opinion the white logo unless it's lit up RGB or something on the back they have their typical XFX bracket backplate it looks pretty similar to the previous cards

and on the front here you got a sick 8-pin connector so this is quite a you know overkill a little bit for a 570 in my opinion six pin would really suffice you know for 580 would maybe work with in single a pen but anyways that's nice to see that means usually have more overclocking Headroom since you get more power limit also here is that they have this dual BIOS switch and what's interesting is that instead of the typical you know lower boost clock quieter and also higher boost clock and faster biases they actually have a gaming by us and also a mining BIOS

so if you flip it to the left there it's actually the mining BIOS if you flip it to the right it's actually the gaming BIOS the difference is that I've tried before is that the mining BIOS has a lower core clock speed and also lower voltage while the memory speed has been like overclock to 1850 mega it's 117 1750 so if you want to mine on this card you should just forget to left and you should be pretty good because the power consumption has gone way down compared to on

the gaming mode because the core clocks Gundams who eleven hundred megahertz from 1283 my girls which is the standard one and the memory clock has gone up so if you don't want overclock or mess with anything just flip it to the left and it should work pretty good because I was getting just short of 24 mike has per second on the Left bios but obviously i modded this and I got us an astonishing twenty nine point two megawhatts per second out of this card at a

power consumption of just 73 watts and MSI Afterburner which is pretty amazing in my opinion now one thing I don't like is that they use it overly large trout so maybe it doesn't fit in some shorter cases because you can see that the fan actually just overhangs a lot of the cooler so they just I think in my opinion just really want to make this look like a bigger card when it really isn't and you know I mean I guess let's take off the plastic off of it all that didn't feel too

good the plastic unwrapping peeling off isn't as good as I expected also another thing that to note is that something interesting is that you can see there's a hole actually for another heat pipe and there's also another hole and basically for another heat pipe so uh-huh yeah XFX it would be nice if you actually included that third heat pipe because that gap I don't think that's gonna help thermal transfer at all because if you see either there it's actually above GPU die

still over there so it would help if there's a heat pipe and more so with this air gap it doesn't actually conduct heat to the heatsink fence right over it so it's kind of ridiculous because why would you do that just put another a heat pipe it's probably like just a few dollars more at most so why the hell not I'm pretty sure everyone would want that but even without that this card actually runs pretty cool I ran that at like four mining my mining settings they it just runs

below fifty five degrees all the time at the minimum fan speed so that's really nice because it's low power also further vrm you actually have like an actively cooled vrm because it has a unibody heatsink connected to the main heatsink so for the BRM so that's gonna still stay nice and cool also the memory actually doesn't have any kind of heatsink so yeah the website is kind of a sleeting because it says that has a vrm and memory heatsink but this card just has the vrm

heat scene and not the memory heatsink not that is a big deal because memory usually don't run that high so it's not really big of a problem but it would be nice if they have one also the fans themselves seems like they revised it compared to the previous cards of the 400 series and that they have wider blades and more blades so kinda looks like they're trying to achieve more static pressure and also lower noise because they have to spin less rpms to generate same

amount of airflow since they have more blades and also wider blades but for the heat saying it's kind of just mediocre I guess it's not that impressive especially with that freaking cold right don't solve the GPU contact surface that's not something that you would like to see but yeah anyway so I don't know what you guys think about the read fast I think it looks pretty slick but I get it that doesn't really most belts unless your claim for specifically red and black but I mean

if you're using it in your belt it's gonna be like this so it you won't really see it you know realistically the red fatso should be alright and this card I would say it's actually a pretty good card and I would I don't mind recommending it so yeah if you're looking for an RX 570 this is this looks like a great option in my opinion because the heat sing no matter how janky that like hole in the base plates heat sing is it actually performs pretty good so I have no problems with

that but maybe if you're shooting for the highest over class you might want to use something like an MSI gaming X version which is probably the best rx 570 there is because even the well I guess the Sapphire Nitro+ is also a good one but I was talking about the I was thinking about the Asus Strix OC RS 570 that's also not so good because it has actually a smaller heat

singleness and it runs hotter and noisier so this XFX is still better than that but yeah I mean up I guess that's it for this unboxing.

XFX RX 570 4GB GDDR5 RS XXX Edition PCI 570P427D6,Black/Red review

the XFX rx 574 gigabytes that you can pick up from best buy for about  right now all the graphics cards are coming back down in price and checking out the two to  range is going to be my primary focus over the next few weeks including taking a look at some of the latest titles such as monster hunter world and the gtx 1063 gigabyte versus of course the RX 574 gigabytes and so on and so forth now all that being said looking at the current prices of GPUs it's pretty incredible because the RX 5 ATS you can pick up for about 229 and even as low as to

19 with mail-in rebates which is just intense and I'll leave some links to them down in the description below which might be a better choice than of course saving money on an RX 574 gigabyte that we have here that being said this card is great and we're going to talk about it right now welcome back so going through the features of the card it has 2048 stream processors a 1264 megahertz Tru clock with a 1280 for megahertz overclock or boost clock now that being

said it comes out of the box and maintains that clock the entire time however the black editions which are a little bit above it or of at about thirteen hundred and twenty eight megahertz out of the box and the this one in particular cheaper will hit 13 28 megahertz pretty much no problem all the time and this is also probably well I had the rx 470 version in it was pretty much the same story so I wouldn't recommend spending the extra money on the

Black Edition I would just pick one of these up and then overclock it a little bit as four gigabytes of GDP r5 with the 256-bit memory bus clocked at 7000 megahertz and it has a dual fan with passive vrm cooling now I'm gonna go ahead and show you guys what those fans sound like right now so once it gets up to that 80 to 100% range it gets pretty loud that being said on extensive testing I never had to actually turn all the way up to even 80% the highest

they ever got was about 60% during a session of Monster Hunter World and what was super impressive there is that we are teetering right on that throttle point of 84 to 85 degrees Celsius and the GPU clock never throttled and the fan maintained itself at what I would consider a reasonable speed around that 60 percent sometimes going a little bit higher trying to get a little closer to 70 percent but not actually interrupting of course your play session provided you're

wearing of course headphones it is loud enough or audible I should say without headphones on as far as power goes as a single 8 pin PCIe power so you will need to take that into account before purchasing one of these and taking a look at the kilowatt the total system power and you can check out the rest of the test bench parts up here in the corner that being said total system power draw was about 275 watts therefore my recommended power supply is going to be

around 500 watts if you're going to be planing on any overclocking that includes of course overclocking on your CPU or GPU but you guys are interested in the benchmarks right how well does this game well let's hop right into it starting things off with x 5 the base bench market scored a three thousand eight hundred and sixty not too shabby for 1440p or considering that this card is really a 1080p card it's not really meant for 1440p and it's way more at home in fire

strike where had scored a thirteen thousand seven hundred and ninety eight which is quite respectable right in that GTX 970 range just kind of to give you guys something to compare or contrast against moving on to of course a real-world benchmark here we have Batman Arkham origins because I've already been testing it extensively and I'm in FPS at fifty three point five eight with an average of a hundred and forty seven point two nine and a max of two hundred

and thirty fps now Minn framerate is a point one percent however that being said the GTX 1063 gigabyte had a much better 0.1% min but a lower average and we'll get into comparing those two graphics cards here later this week when I finished the full benchmarks for both of them the Final Fantasy 15 benchmark with 1080p high settings scored three thousand six hundred and sixty seven while GTA 5 fully maxed out had a min fps of 5.8 with an average of

thirty three point seven and a max of two hundred and twenty seven point two five what I do typically is I run benchmarks live on my channel if I can and this is one of those cases and then I asked for any sort of game requests as hopefully one that I have installed in the request this time for this particular card was going to be quite champions so we booted up quite champions and we actually ran the tutorial with an application called Oh cat and we pulled the frame rate

with Oh cat which gives us all the time between frames so I also have a time between frames plot chart here that you can see as well but essentially you were seeing point one percent mins of ninety two with an average of a hundred and fifteen frames per second at 1080p ultra for quake champions now this isn't going to put you in that range of a hundred and twenty Hertz monitor or staying locked around there that being said the larger the freesync range the better

now this card does support free sync - so there's some other caveats there when buying a free sync monitor just make sure you buy a good quality one now my recommendation would probably be for this card in this game in particular 75 Hertz free sync monitor which should run you  which is right around what I would assume the budget would be for a minor if you're picking up this GPU but taking a look at the quake

champions time between frames plot chart basically what you guys want to be looking at is the left side is in milliseconds and what you would be seeing essentially is if it's around eight milliseconds you're gonna be around 120 frames per second if you're around the 16 milliseconds 16.6 in particular you're going to be at about 60 fps and then the higher that that number the the lower the framerate because essentially you're just taking a thousand and

dividing it by that number on the left side what you want to be looking for here is basically all of the dots to be as clumped up as closely as possible and that's going to be an indicator of smooth gameplay without any kind of micro stutter at cetera now if you had a whole bunch that we're jumping up and down right after one another thing at that point you would want to be concerned about micro setter and that's a visual representation of that this particular game had

none of those issues we did have some drops below a hundred frames per second and that's why I recommend probably sticking to that 75 Hertz and just locking down with free sync to that finally we did take a look at super position at 1080p on the highest setting I think it's extreme or something like that and we scored 2356 overall is a pleasure to revisit this card for gaming and not for mining and the fact that you can pick it up  right now is the biggest deal

about the RX 574 gigabytes it showed some pretty impressive improvements since it originally launched and definitely since the original launch of Polaris with the 400 series over the 470 now they does seem to still have some issues with those 0.1% mins and we could see that both in GTA as well as Batman Arkham origins compared to the previous experience I've been having with the GTX 10 63 gigabyte keeping in mind that right now the GTX line from our pascal line

the 10 series does appear to be significantly more expensive so comparing these two cards might not actually be justified quite at this point because if you're looking at price to performance you would be bumping down to a 1050 TI with Nvidia and I would much rather have the rx 574 gigabyte than a 1050 TI or gigabyte at least in my humble opinion let me know if you agree or disagree in the comment section below and we will actually be reviewing the msi gtx 1063
gigabyte here shortly and then putting those two cards head-to-head .
