Redragon K552-RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Compact 87 Key Mechanical Computer Keyboard

hey guys welcome to this is a series in the page where we give reviews about some tech equipments that we use and for today I will be reviewing the keyboard that I am currently using the red dragon kumara RGB the kumara is a tkl mechanical keyboard tkl standing for a10 keyless which means no numpad this could be good for quite a few reasons one of them is that if you have a limited desk space like me and you prefer your sensitivity in games to be a bit low you could really use that extra space believe me the kumara has a very minimalistic and simple design that looks very clean the keyboard is made of plastic but it is very durable as keyboard does not flex at all the texture of the keys themselves is very smooth with a matte finish so it's not that slippery personally though I would prefer a more simple font choice rather than the gaming themed ones that this have but it's not that bad the LED lights illuminate the characters pretty well though the brightness is not that great traversing now through the

keyboard we have on the function keys the secondary functions when you press the FN button of the keyboard we have here the media buttons and some functions that will open up your email or calculator and whatnot now on here is the buttons that will let you control the LEDs on the keyboard but more on that later underneath the keyboard it does look rather simple no cable pass throughs are present but this keyboard does have rubber feet on four corners and one of the things that I like on this keyboard is the retractable feet they snap into position and really stay there even when you move the keyboard they don't snap back to their original position and it does have rubber at the bottom so don't expect this keyboard to move on your while you're using it the cable is just a simple non braided one it's fairly thick though so it seems to be in good quality no USB pass-through also so this keyboard only requires one USB slot now let's talk about the switches the key caps here by the way are removed using the key

cap puller Rich's included in the box okay now this keyboard has the o-tama blue switches these switches are like Cherry MX blue clones which means they aim to be like the MX blue which is tactile and clicky and surprisingly enough they feel very good especially for typing I'd say feel wise they do feel very close to the Cherry MX but of course in terms of durability we'll have to see about that and on that note here is a sound test of the keyboard all right now to show you how to control the led effects this keyboard does not come with the software so you have to configure the LEDs only through the keyboard all of these functions when you hold the F and button the up and down Keys controls the brightness the left key toggles the direction of the LED animations the right key cycles through different colors the first one is always the RGB mode these two controls the speed of the effect this 1 to 6 contains the led effects each

number contains 2 or 3 effects just keep pressing the same number to cycle through them I'm gonna show you some of those effects now , and that's it for my review of the red dragon kumara this keyboard is pretty great for those people in the budget and would not want to break the bank in order to have a decent mechanical keyboard it has all the necessary features she would want as well as RGB backlighting I mean this keyboard costs like $$ from our friends here in the Philippines labelled akuto keyboard natto for around two thousand four hundred pesos which is fairly cheap compared to other mechanical keyboards out there I've been using this keyboard for about two months already and so far I have no complaints

another mechanical keyboard review  we do you take the keyboard on reviewing is the red dragon Kimura and the first thing you probably notice is that it doesn't have a numpad so this is a 10 keyless or tournament edition keyboard the Chamorro resembles safari in a lot of ways it has the same build construction with aluminium and abs plastic materials this makes a Kimora super durable for all the Rangers out there and like to cavora the Kimora is also splash proof but I didn't want to taste that I'll just take their word for it but quickie taking a tour of the Kimora and starting at the top where you get the standard F keys but with some secondary functions you can activate these keys by pressing the FN key with any of the 12 F keys so if one

is to open your media player if 2 is for volume down if 3 is for volume up F voice for mute if 5 is for stop if 6 is for previous F seven is for player pause of ideas for next if nine is to open your email program if 10 is home but it opens your web browser if 11 is to lock the entire keyboard so you won't be able to press any keys and then if 12 is to open your calculator the kymaro also lets you turn the WASD and arrow keys around you can do this by pressing the FN key with the W key to get it back the way it was all you have to do is press it again you're also able to disable the windows key by pressing the FN key with the windows key so you don't extend to minimize your game and lose your kill stroke but then getting to the backlight of the Camorra this model only has the red backlight but you do get one without a backlight or one with full RGB you're able to adjust the backlight between 9 different brightness levels by pressing the FN key with the minus or equal ski you're also able to turn off the back light with the FN key and throw

lucky but if you want more of an effect the Camorra does have a breathing mode you can activate this by pressing the FN key with the HOME key then you're able to adjust the breathing speed by pressing the FN key with either the minus or equals key again and then to get it back to the static color just press the FN key and the home key again underneath the kamarra you get a pair of anti-slip rubber pads in the corners at the bottom at the top you get to flip out keyboard feet with both of them having anti step pads as well they do a decent job of preventing the keyboard from sliding around wallet gaming and then the cable is non braided but is 1.8 meters or 5.9 feet long of a gold plated USB connector now we get into the important part of the review the switches and how they feel the Camorra uses custom red dragon mechanical switches that are equivalent to Cherry MX green switches they have the same

design as the cherry mix which is as well so if you want to get custom keycaps you can all you have to do is get key caps that fits any Cherry MX switch but the included key caps are double shot injection molded key caps so you are getting quality key caps that won't scratch off after time by using the included key cap puller you are able to take off the key caps and see the custom switches the custom switches has a loud audible click with the tactile bump this makes it nice to type on but it can be disturbing when you're working in an office with a lot of people now getting to the main feature of the Kimora the missing numpad by taking away the numpad your arms are able to get closer together which makes it more ergonomic and comfortable this keyboard is not meant for people who work with a lot of numbers like accountants it's primarily for gamers and he does that job very well gaming on the kamarra feels a bit strange

but a good strange my entire life I've used full-size keyboards and now trying this it feels so compact and comfortable when I switch from the keyboard to my mouse the distance to travel is so short and quick I didn't really think it would be that much different but it is but for anybody whose primary function of a keyboard is the game or to type go and try it Ain this keyboard it's really worth it now looking at the good and the bad aspects about the Camorra but keep in mind the price the good aspects about the Camorra is its small size it doesn't take up a lot of space so it fits on your desk very easily and you can actually fit it into your backpack without any trouble and then also it doesn't cost a lot again in the bad aspects about the Camorra and this is mostly personal I'm not a big fan of the switches I personally like bronze which is more than green ones so that's pretty much it I couldn't really find anything bad about

the keyboard okay so that was my review of the Chamorro mechanical keyboard
the red dragon k55 - - are standing for rainbow this is the stock lighting configuration of this keyboard I just want to emphasize that this keyboard is the rainbow very so you'll notice - each row of keys is statically assigned to a specific color and I could not get that to change and I think that's because this is the rainbow version of this keyboard on the top you have your function and media Keys the next row down you have your number and L keys what I thought was interesting about the L keys is that if you hold down function and hit L 1 it's statically signs specific keys on the keyboard to be lit up and these go all the way up to 8 9 and then 9 shuts everything off and if you want to bring back the keyboard back to the stock lighting

configuration all you do is hold down the function button and hit number 1 on the insert key and that brings back the keyboard to its stock lighting configuration you have 6 keys that all deal with function they're labeled 1 2 3 4 5 & 6 on top of the insert home page up to delete and and page down button you also have the up and down arrows that adjust the brightness and also turn off the keyboard lighting alright you have 6 buttons right here that all have to do with mode and I have them each in my own predefined category number one is what I would categorize as always on when you hit the function when you hold down function and hit one insert it actually goes through a strobe and when you hold down function and tap the plus or minus sign it speeds or slows the animation so now you'll notice that it speeds up when you hold down function and hit the plus sign and then when you tap the minus sign it slows everything

down so let's go back to the stock lighting configuration and move on to the next mode the next mode on the home key is number two and I would categorize that as being the negative mode and I'll show you what that means right now so when you hold down function - it turns everything off but when you go to tight everything's animated and again with that animation if you slow it down you hold down the function key and hit the minus key that animation is slowed down and when you hold down function and hit the plus it speeds up see how fast this is going now look at how crazy fast that's going we go back to the stock configuration and we go back to this mode where it's in negative mode if you were to hit it again now it's in the negative mode but when you type each individual key lights up as you type it if you were to hold down the function and hit this once more now everything's not lit up but when you type a key the whole entire row lights up the next mode is it just lights up a patch of keys right around the key that you're pressing so if we go over to page up which is number 3 over here and hit the

function key but first I'm going to go back to the stock lighting configuration now if we do function page up this actually goes into the next categorization that I would call animated because it's not anything that's being done negatively in the first category are always on it's an animation that is always on it does not change so if I go through and do function page up again it goes into a different animation function page up once more a different animation the next function of the page up key is always lit but when you go to hit a key it waves to the left and right only in like a diamond pattern we go to number four on delete this is wave see how it looks like it's waving from left to right you can speed this up and slow it down again with the plus and minus key slowing it down if we hit that function number four again on the Delete key it goes into a different type of wave the next categorization on the end key which is lit up what I would call number five but it's the LR key it's not five five is over here this one turns

everything off then when you press the button nothing happens it just turns everything off so if I do that again let's see what happens again now it seems to memorize the keys that you type and they stay on that's pretty cool if we do function and again on the L arche nothing so this is almost like you use this mode to unlock and lock the keys that you want animated so that's pretty cool you can custom light up the keys that you want by holding down function and hitting the end key so now it unlocks it so you can statically assign whatever keys you want lit up that's pretty cool I just learned that now while taping this video so let's go back to the stock lighting configuration again and let's move over to the next category which I would call random here's random and this is pagedown that's also number five we can speed it up and slow it down as with any other mode now it's sped up it slow it down let's hit function page down again here's a different random mode function page down a different random mode function page

down again a different random mode so these are all the modes I found on the keyboard all the functionality on the keyboard that I could find if you think I missed anything feel free to leave a comment in the comment section below I'd be very interested to read them here's a quick demonstration on what the keys sound like these are not cherry MX blue keys these are called autumn u keys which are like cherry MX blue but they're just equivalent they are not actually cherry MX blue keys and I personally cannot tell the difference and I think this is still a great value for the money for a mechanical keyboard I've unboxed and reviewed a decent amount of gaming combo peripheral sets keyboards and mice headsets over the past year and red dragon always seems to spoil me when it comes to price to performance coming in at thirty-six dollars this mechanical keyboard is an excellent value for the money

this is an upgrade keyboard from my last one which my last one is over here I lost from this is my last one and my last one is a rainbow backlit this is the red dragon it's red dragon kymaro mechanical gaming keyboard of course this is all the stuff it says yeah customizable there's some customer customizable stuff and sorry for any background noise my dad's currently playing video games and he's very loud when he plays video games sort of like me this is the back part and supposedly this keyboard is RGB as it says here it's it's supposed to have blue switches if I'm correct I'm kind of I'm kind of skeptical about this right now because it says RGB and down here it just says the image shown here is indicated only the actual product may differ so I'm I had no I have no idea if it's RGB or if it's just red with a background if it's red

with a background it's perfectly fine but if it has already RGB that should be that should be pretty fun too if it's red it should be fine because of my HyperX nose obviously the brands are not the same but you know what can you do alright so I'm going to set this down here and that is even a little bit there you go the quality of the camera is not that great I am currently using an iPhone it's actually my second phone that I'm using it is my second phone that I'm using and so yeah without further ado let's get right into it so I saw the seal over here there's a little seal here it's pretty cool it says red dragon on it cut it's a it's a little bit scratched up but I hope that doesn't mean anything bad alright so let's get into it so I don't know if I should use a knife to open it or if I just refresh it just open it with my hand I'm just gonna open over my hand so one thing to note I bought this in Canada I mean I mean I live in Canada so obviously the prices will be different if you live in the US but I bought this for $$Canadian so in my my guess

would be it'd be around $$ American there's almost $$ about this in store but this in a really in a store that I would have never thought existed but it turns out the store is actually pretty popular and so this is what it this is how it is all right so this is open oh yeah it does open all right so it comes with a key cap puller you know plug it in II all right so I'm gonna set this aside now the actual keyboard itself and then I don't want to press any of the keys just yet I I can hear the keys I don't want to press it just yet I kind of want to take it out of here take this box you're good looking but I'm not here for the box I'm here for the freaking I'm here for the prize you bought this on Black Friday today's Black Friday actually bought this like two hours ago all right so all this bubble wrap and we got the actual keyboard my guess is that it comes with a key calf puller so the keys are fully replaceable this keyboard i bought the 87 keys only version

so I believe it's called 10 cue list number list or something like that and yeah so this is down here actually here I'll show to you guys really quick this is the font obviously cue wer t it's a quartz keyboard and obviously the fonts also differs for a lot of people the font matters a lot it looks like on the top or the FN and the FA all the fun that all the way to f12 have a different have a variety of different functions and yeah that's that and now let me just fix that real quick let's set this here and yeah so I'm gonna read the manual a little bit and we'll see we'll see we'll see what you can do what we can do the USB part also comes with a little cap that's a cool little thing to take note all right so it starts off what seems to be in a flow State I call it flow State but it's just waves really that's all it is so I'm I'm gonna skip to this key I'm gonna skip to the the actual functions but if I was gonna skip to the functions but before we skip to the functions I want you guys I want you guys to listen to the keys alright so here are those all right so what I

wrote was all right so what I wrote was Emperor he is the best youtuber in the world and the sort of sufferer everybody lmao XD XD XD GG me that I also wrote the man that went on the train was lost was a lost man in a big world that's not core of any kind that's just me typing random stuff let me set this camera back up here alright so time to cycle through the different light loads alright so it seems that the FN key the function key is the home to all the different switches so FN + insert we'll try that FN insert its static colors alright FN plus home seems to be the kind of thing where depending on the key if you press a key it'll just like sort of pulse out and then go back down so the benefit on page up its waves Paige up again it's like little waves and when you press something it like pulses and always centers back if the week there's three settings so Italy this one has like a alright so FM + delete so each each Key has three different cycles I believe it's two cycles that are normal then it then it turns off so it goes definitely this

one is like RGB wave it's the thing that it started with the first the first one that I had press it again it's like another version you're just different colors press it again another wait there's one wave going this way and then there's another way for in this way and then press FN plus end the first one and it seems that each color is actually changing and that's it FM + and again whoa I kind of like this one it kind of looks like Christmas lights just look at that my friend + and again now this one is just it looks like a static you know blue well green on top blue and oh wait a minute no it's coming down this way now I found Plus page down now the lights are coming down this way then going back up okay so this seems to be static colors this one has a guy this one seems to have like a slow pulsing outward this way alright so FM + up arrow equals the brightness level all right so that's the brightness level fm+ left wait maybe just a local this one okay so yeah fm+ left i don't know if you could see it it changes the directions of the lights so I'm gonna let it play so you see the green want left left now the green goes right and then if you do FN plus the right arrow it'll cycle a lot of different colors so it seems to be

rainbow red orange yellow green light blue dark blue pink or purple and then this one looks like a magenta and then goes back to rainbow all right and and then they're all the multimedia keys so that's FN and then everything on the top and that's about it alright so lights are back on and there was another one there was one last thing they were able to do FN plus print screen it restores it to whatever it was in the beginning so so now I'm gonna zoom in a little bit a little bit I mean a lot and then what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna take the key K polar and I'm gonna pull a random key off and we'll see what we'll see what so let's see what's kind of keys inside so I'm gonna quickly go into the into the e all right so it seems to be like a cherry MX blue since it's

really really tactile and it's really really loud too so that's a good thing it's a blue blue cat I don't know if you can fit an o-ring but from my understanding even once you pull the cap off obviously you're able to put it back in and it seems that you're also able to pull out the switch and I'm not too sure about that that's what I'm understanding for my that's what I'm getting it from my understanding and so and so yeah anyways that's gonna be it for this review guys and P so it's really gonna pull this out later.
