WINDFORCE 3X COOLING SYSTEM

The WINDFORCE 3X cooling system features 3x 82mm unique blade fans, an alternate spinning fan, 6x composite copper heat pipes, heat-pipe direct touch and 3D active fan functionality, together delivering an effective heat-dissipation capacity for higher performance at lower temperatures.

ALTERNATE SPINNING

The GIGABYTE “Alternate Spinning” is the only solution that can solve the turbulent airflow of three fans. The biggest problem with the three fans is turbulence. Since the fans rotate in the same direction, the airflow direction is opposite between the fans, which will cause turbulent airflow and reduce heat dissipation efficiency. GIGABYTE turns the middle fan in the opposite direction, so that the airflow direction between the two fans is the same, reducing the turbulence and enhancing airflow pressure.

UNIQUE BLADE FAN

The airflow is spilt by the triangular fan edge, and guided smoothly through the 3D stripe curve on the fan surface, effectively enhancing the airflow.

3D ACTIVE FAN

The 3D Active Fan provides semi-passive cooling, and the fans will remain off when the GPU is in a low load or low power game. It allows gamers to enjoy gameplay in complete silence when the system is running light or idle.

HEAT PIPES DIRECT TOUCH

The shape of the pure copper heat pipes maximizes the direct contact area with the GPU, enhancing heat transfer. The heat pipes also cover the VRAM through a large metal-plate contact to ensure proper cooling.

COMPOSITE HEAT PIPES

Each composite heat pipe combines thermal conductivity and phase transition to efficiently manage the heat transfer between two solid interfaces, increasing cooling capacity.

Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 Super Gaming OC 8G Graphics Card GV-N207SGAMING OC-8GD Video Card

I have a super message for you from gigabyte so guys firstly I want to make it clear the puns are gonna sort of start and end with that intro so today we're talking about 2070 super so as we know the other day the 2017 and 2060 super I guess 2080 super launched officially from Nvidia for some weird reason we didn't get any samples and Nvidia aren't answering emails and Skype and stuff so but we have our AIB partners so to start with we've got gigabyte where you have

actually got another video and I'll link to it somewhere where we look to a palette our TX 2070 super game rock but this video is all about the gaming OC from gigabyte so we all know what gaming OC basically is it's essentially a triple wind force cooler design graphics card and it has an ever so slight overclock out of the box now I actually want to talk about sort of pricing on this card because as we know we have our MSRP prices some brands are actually able to kind

of produce something I guess below that or below the founders editions so let's talk about the pricing of this one and some of the other models and kind of where it lies so the 27t super MSRP at least in the UK  the gigabyte gaming OC that I have here today it's actually gonna come at least in terms of MSRP what the retailers and distribution do with that is

completely up to them now they have actually got ever so slightly cheaper model which is the wind force OC so slightly different cooler designs still got a little bit of an overclock but nothing sort of you know as I guess large as the overclock on this that's gonna come in at now there is also of course if you want to go even higher end the Auris Edition, so it kind of is a little bit for

everyone I guess now to put kind of pricing into perspective as we know , XTS launched the other day and the fifty seven hundred XT which I guess sort of you know looking at the Radeon seven this is the newest latest graphics card from AMD that can kind of I guess be the closest comparison to a super well this is priced ,so yeah kind of puts that whole thing into

perspective just a little bit now talking about clock speeds when we look at an RT X 2070 super the clock speeds are actually 1605 on the GPU core clock 1770 on the boost and then 1750 on the memory obviously this is a pre overclock card straight on the factory so while the I guess found a solution card is quicker than a 5,700 XT in terms of kind of raw core clock speeds we know that this one is going to be you know even better than that so the specs on this card are 1605 on the GPU clock so exactly the same as the founders edition or the MSRP card but it's

where the boost clock is obviously slightly increased out the factory so sever 1770 boost we're actually looking at 1815 so 1815 megahertz the memory is exactly the same at 1750 megahertz so there's a slight overclock straight out the gate that's why you're gonna pay just that little bit pre of a premium which I guess in the grand scheme of things yeah it's  cheaper than the founders but it's actually faster than the founders as well so take from that what you will

some people want the founders some people want an AIB cut now let's talk a little bit about the styling because it is kind of I guess a reminiscent design that we've seen improved over time but this cooler has been around I guess it's the beginning of time in the grand scheme of things so first up you can see that we have a triple fan design so this is actually called their 3x wind force cooler and it actually has a patented alternate spinning design which is quite cool so the fan

here and the fan here will actually spin anti-clockwise while the middle fan will spin clockwise I'm not sure clearly they've done tests and everything but I'm not quite sure whether heats gonna dissipate from when that's happening I kind of think that maybe it's I guess the middle one is pushing it evenly to each side and then that's kind of spinning it out from each end but I

don't know maybe it's there must be kind of design choices of I guess gone into it it's also worth noting that on this card with the triple fan design when the fans don't need to be spinning they will go into a zero decibel state which is always handy if you're just kind of you know doing some work and you don't want allow the kind of whiny noise from your graphics card not I'm saying gigabyte cards are whiny in the slightest now other things when it comes to the design we

have got the smallest amount of RGB on here so you can see there is a gigabyte logo on the top so it's actually sitting inside your machine you're gonna see this lighting up and of course using the Auris engine software you do get choice of sixteen point eight million colors to choose from if you don't decide to install the software but you don't have to it will just cycle for a few colors on its own the thickness of the card technically I guess is a dual slot card but as you may be able

to see down the camera it's ever so slightly sort of thicker than the actual backplate so talking a couple of millimeters most people I guess should be okay in terms of the thickness often that it just seems like a pretty you know nice design of a card is what we've seen before on I guess you know the sixteen series 1650 1660 1660 t I and other models from I guess both the Nvidia and the AMD range of graphics cards so you will notice that there is kind of a triple heatsink design

on here and everything is connected via copper heat pipes I believe there's about sixty pipes in total which do also make direct touch with the GPU for obviously improve thermals and conductivity also if we were to take the cooler off and we're gonna display up a blown-up diagram because it's much much easier you will actually see that there are heat sinks over the vrm and the MOSFETs which obviously is going to aid in terms of overclocking and also

providing the best thermal conductivity to the memory as well as obviously that direct heat pipe touch to the GPU now for other kind of cooling I guess on there you have got this large backplate which spans across the whole of the PCB how much it actually does you know it's one thing but admittedly again when it's inside your system that's what you're gonna see with the gigabyte branding on there so it does look pretty nice as well so I guess aesthetics is once that

one thing and performance is another now to provide power to the graphics card itself you can see that we have a single eight pin and a single six pin power connector so nothing really too out of the ordinary when it comes to that you also notice that on the rear being a twenty seventy super card we do have the USB type-c port which honestly has virtual link connectivity as well and then we have three display port to about 1.4 and one HDMI 2.0 four so plenty of room for

kind of NVIDIA surround if you wanted to have multiple displays and it will actually support up to three 4k displays if you really wanted to play that obviously I don't think games are gonna run at 4k at least you know on decent settings across three displays on a twenty seventy super you gonna have to go just that little bit further up the stack now another cool thing compared to all see 2017 2017 Super has given us something back that I guess a lot of people

have asked for and that's the envy link finger so yeah we actually have the ability now to I guess SLI or MB link our multiple graphics cards so if you wanted to get another one of these put it in side by side in theory you should be getting some pretty good scaling from what I've seen anywhere up to about sort of you know 85% you're never gonna get a hundred percent scaling on every game but yeah you're gonna get the maybe up to about 85 percent scaling when you

have multiple graphics cards so that's really down to you to find out how much you can get two of these cards fault and see if the performance of two of them you know actually matches say what the price would cost for one larger comic for twenty eighty or twenty eight EAJA so that's really down to yourselves so I guess now the only thing we really need to look at is the performance bow first stock and also overclock now talking about the clock let's go through the numbers that we were able to push this already pre overclocked card and how far we actually

got it beyond that so talking of overclocking numbers just to kind of go through I guess to the stock I call it stock the brief of overclocked factory speeds that this comes with so we're looking at 1605 on the GPU a sort of core clock we was able to get that up to 1680 so a modest little overclock there that consequently meant that the boost clock went from 1850 up to 1819 megahertz but it's the memory where it kind of really shines where it went from 1750 all the

way up to 2069 megahertz so quite a big jump there now I'm gonna admit we have got another video in another written review of a different 2070 super one from pallet admittedly I think it's actually about the same price but it has a ten plus two phase design so 10 for the GPU and two for the memory this only actually has an eight plus two design so that's I guess why in theory when you compare this one against the pallet one and you will see this in the results and

everything as well the pallet one is just maybe so slightly so you know they're above this one kind of all down to the phases and the vrm design but now that's out the way obviously we can look at you know how things compared in terms of the overclocks but let's run the glorious benchmarks and then we can come back and talk about exactly where this kind of lays in the stack with all of the other graphics cards from both Nvidia and now obviously AMD ,

so now that we've looked for the benchmarks you will find that yes the results kind of fell where we were expecting it to you know better than the 2070 I mean not quite as much as a 2080 obviously this is kind of redundant when you're looking at this price point but there's still you know a market for that definitely I'm not saying the 5700 XT hasn't got his place but the super is obviously its own kettle of fish so if you have the money to buy a super then I can't see why

you wouldn't look at something like this from gigabyte yes as I mentioned earlier we did hatch actually have a review on a pilot card which I guess when you look at the results it did score ever so slightly better in the majority of tests and it is priced around the same from is the palette is only available in the UK with this one I think personally you're getting the triple fan design it has got a better cooler it has got better aesthetics maybe and it's from gigabyte

everyone knows who gigabyte is for anyone who's outside the UK you probably won't even know who palette are and the main thing is well that I really want to share about this and I think they actually mention it on the box this little logo just here so this card before came with a three year warranty if you register it with gigabyte enorus and they're whole little you know

South you're actually get another year on top so for the price you're getting with a card with a four year warranty I think that's pretty astounding for the price just getting that amount of years on the warranty for that type of card yeah I'd normally expect that from the likes of EVGA and you kind of you paying a premium for that whereas you're getting it included for this price which technically is cheaper than MSRP founders Edition cards so yeah I think I'm

gonna leave it on that one guys let me know in the comments section below are you gonna go for a twenty seventy super if you are is it gonna be a gigabyte one if so is it gonna be this one or are you gonna go maybe one less to sort of the lesser model or you're gonna go one more or gone to the Auris model and get the whole you know all-singing all-dancing RGB all over the fans kind

of model you know there really is something for everyone on the twenty seventy Super Series from a variety of different brands but even if you just specifically want a gigabyte one kind of fill that is something for you as well there you go .

 the RT X 2070 super

gaming OSI model and it's literally bigger as it stacks up a bit higher on account of the upsized massive aluminum heatsink which it carries but it still remains a 2 slot card it's also divided into three sections which are connected with 6 6 millimeter copper heat pipes cooling off the GPU a part of the 8 + 2 phase power design and video memory the fan setup is the same - we have 3 80 millimeter fans with the middle one as I mentioned in my RT X 2060 Super gaming

OC review spinning in the opposite direction for better air flow pressure the outer design is basically the same still a bit underwhelming build quality wise in terms of that top plastic shroud and with a pretty simple looking and clean metal cover plate on the back side of the card we also have some RGB lighting on it which is controlled using our s engine software utility but nothing that will blow you out of the water since it only has this glowing gigabyte

RGB logo as with its smaller brother this model also requires additional 6 pin and 8 pin PC Express power supply connector for powering it up as well as having the same video output layout with three display ports one HDMI and one type C virtual link for connecting a VR headset before I start with my performance overview of this card if you're wondering what my setup is you can find it in the description box down below and in case you're thinking of buying

the same GPU and still have some questions and concerns about it please do let me know let me know let me know please do let me know in the comments down below and I will help you out and now let's check out the performance of this car gigabyte bumps up the GP boost clock speed of its r-tx 2070 super gaming OSI model by about 50 megahertz compared to the reference model which is decent but nothing too spectacular especially compared to the r-tx

2060 super gaming OSI model where I saw over one hundred and fifty megahertz jump in GPU boost clock speeds on account of the factory overclock but that's not gigabytes fault per se since Nvidia basically intentionally clocks down the RTS 2060 Super Series as it is as they don't want it to over perform so there's more room for board partners to do their factory overclock while they know that Turing GPUs are generally speaking capable of reaching higher frequencies

than those seen on the RT X 2060 Super Series which is why RT X 2070 Super Series as a higher end card so to speak receives overall higher GPU clocks as you can see here translating all of that into real-world usage under load you'll see a rock stable GPU frequency of 1965 megahertz and 1750 merits for the eight gigabytes of gddr5 memory this was more than good enough to get high FPS figures at 1080p resolution for all of you out there who have high

refresh rate monitors where the RT X 2060 super falls behind a bit the RT X 2070 super catches up and makes sure that it delivers enough performance for those kind of setups the same can be said for the 1440p resolution where you will roughly see a 15% performance gain compared to the RT x 2060 super model which makes it a bit more useful for high refresh rate gaming at that resolution even in the latest titles and especially if you're ready to sacrifice few graphical

settings I'm also fairly certain it can cope with 4k gaming while delivering around 60fps of course depending on the title and settings manually overclocking the card further I was able to get the GPU clock speed about two thousand one hundred megahertz in games using these settings shown here as well as close to sixteen-year Hertz effectively on the memory speed which additionally bumped up the performance of the card by around 10% as for the temperatures I was seeing mostly around 60 degrees Celsius basically under any circumstance even under

firmer cloud but here the GPU clock speed throttles down in favor of the GPU temperature and lower fan speed but less compared to the RT X 2060 super gaming OSI model since this one has a more capable cooler idle temperature sits anywhere between 40 and 50 degrees Celsius depending on your ambient temperature situation and chassis setup which is high and that's because the card runs passively without any fan spinning when the card is not under load

speaking of load difference between the PC being in idle and stressing out only the GPU with fair max stress test what's around 220 watts which is basically the worst case scenario in terms what this card needs power wise plus that extra few watts which it pulls in idle so I would say around 230 to 240 watts in total while in real world application probably even less closer to 200 watts the noise which fans make is substantially lower since they spin at around 300 rpm less

than what I saw with its r-tx 20 60 super counterpart and that makes it basically dead silent even on an open testbed here is a short sound clip of the card under load while also showing the sound meter for a measurement comparison gigabytes RTX 2070 super gaming OSI model or to be precise the r-tx 2070 Super Series itself seems to be on point when it comes to users who are searching for that upper tier high-end graphics card but still don't want to spend endless

amount of money on it well this particular model from gigabyte does a very good job in pretty much every department that's it for this time for me.
