today we're gonna be checking out a brand new lightweight budget gaming mouse that is actually very impressive for the price or to take a look at the new SteelSeries rival three a  Mouse so if you're in the market for a new gaming mouse so you just don't want to break the bank got you guys covered today if you want to check it out I'll put a link for you in the description down below so first up in this trend of lightweight mice this doesn't really even

advertise itself as such however coming in at just 77 grams I'd say it still falls under that category so it's nice to see SteelSeries was able to cut down a new overall weight without actually putting holes in the shell now the fact it's  is just a big win for consumers because a budget-friendly Mouse that it's light on the wallet and in the hands it's only gonna push the rest of the market forward so when you get it in you get it unboxed my first

impression was that it's just really sleek and it is smaller than I thought it would be the body is a matte black plastic and it consists of six total buttons - it's ambidextrous design and although we have two side buttons it's obviously more suited for right-handed users ask for its dimensions it comes in at 120 point 6 millimeters long 58.3 millimeters wide at the front and 67 millimeters at its widest point at the butt stands 37.9 millimeters tall at its highest point and is 21.5 millimeters tall at the front of the scroll wheel I think keeping that in mind it's gonna be

best suited for claw or fingertip grips also depending on your hand size but long time steel serious fans are gonna be pretty familiar with the company's design language over the years and then for a quick visual comparison here's how it stacks up to other popular lightweight and B mice out there like the mm 710 model Oh - G wolves haughty and the Viper ultimate now I said before my first impression was that it's sleek all the grooves are economic by definition and

even though we use the term ergo when talking about the actual shape by a literal definition of the word it fits this mouse to a tee the side buttons do sit flush against the side which did take me a while to get used to moving on the textured scroll wheel here does have noticeable tactile steps and it is pretty silent overall and muted I'd say when it comes to the sound it doesn't feel mushy or anything like that but it's also that these sharp is feeling click either I'll quiet down real quick get here but we'll do a sound test left and right clicks and the side buttons and then

flipping it belly-up we can see it's smiling at us now you can and see it but inside the mouse is a new steel series and Pixar optical sensor which is their true move core this is the first SteelSeries mouse who feature this particular sensor but it's pretty much their version of the pmw 3331 the sensor does also help save some money in terms of production cost and it's a 100 to 8,500 CPI range so we don't have those unnecessary options set this to like 20,000 dpi 8500

should be you know more than enough for most people as for the feet here nothing like hyper glides or anything it is your traditional Teflon material and they have these kind of cutouts underneath the fees you can see what you can use to easier you know pry those feet off if you want to swap them out or place them in the future we're also just removed than to have access to the screws if you want to do some internal modding on my mad cats glide 38 which is a rubberized hybrid mousepad as you'd expect this makes anything feel like it's on ice very little

resistance overall which is good feels nice on here and then to your traditional cloth mousepad pretty much same story it's very smooth glide without a hiccup but this obviously would benefit from hyper glides but what I think is more important here is the cable it doesn't have a fancy name it's not a paracord it's not braided it's rubber as you can see but it still offers a lot of flexibility when you hold the cable near the tip of the mouse you want to see the level of

resistance or if it budges or pushes back so when holding the cable say 4-5 inches away from the tip of the mouse and you push it and the mass itself doesn't move that's a good thing that means when you're gaming the cable itself isn't gonna push back or offer any negative resistance again would this benefit from a paracord or something lighter if you wanted to maybe swap this out in the future yes of course but the fact that it's still very flexible on a mouse at this price point is

very impressive so when gaming it just feels very natural in the hand it doesn't feel cheap it doesn't feel like a  Mouse which is the overall big takeaway I'd say as 77 grams it's pretty much on par with my main Mouse the Viper ultimate so there wasn't a big transition period or anything to get used to it I play that 600 dpi I mean CPI I got to share some slice with the discord fan I hear him down there now headed to their Steel series 3 software it's pretty

straightforward and all laid out right in front of you which I like there's not endless amount of tabs where things are hidden here you can reassign the mouse buttons to macros you create you can adjust the pulling rate angle snapping which I wouldn't touch acceleration/deceleration and your CPI levels by default there are two saved to the mass but you could obviously add more up to 5 levels and it actually has onboard storage you can just keep them all saved to the mass itself

again ranging from 100 to 8500 the increments are also adjustable in levels of 100 so keep that in mind you can't have like 550 for example and then yes illumination for the RGB lights because as you saw it has RGB built in there are three different zones technically so you can just select them pick what kind of the colors you want for the some of the presets or determine your own colors you want you can add to the color wheel up top this is bigger pretty much just regular gradient effect that you would see transitions through the three depending on the zones

you have selected it'll all change accordingly there's also some other things you can pick from pretty limited in terms of the effects but it's really not a big deal you also have me breathing mode which is you know color is breathing from a color to black also can change up what that color is obviously if you want you could just disable the color altogether if you don't want any lights on or you can pick it to be a steady color just for you know one static effect and it's gonna be there pretty much same thing in terms of these zones say you want the the front half or the

top two zones to be one color and the other zone a different color you can do that to kind of make it pretty unique transition again it's static so it's not gonna be distracting or anything but you can then assign the zone to a different effect if you want so you could have just the front of the mouse a certain color the middle zone doing some RGB effect and then a different color for the third zone so you have that customization which is pretty cool and the lights are actually

decently bright here but as far as I can tell the software and there is no brightness level adjustment so if you want it to be dimmer you just have to go to the color wheel and pick a darker gradient of that color so all things considered, this is very impressive can i nitpick some things yes I would have loved some type or glass or taffy or something I would recommend possibly you know swapping the cable out even though it's very flexible and stuff

obviously it would benefit from a lighter cable and stuff I do wish the the clicks were a little bit more tactile but in the grand scheme of things none of those are a deal-breaker when you're talking budget gaming mice there's a lot of options out there a lot of knockoff options on Amazon but you really cannot beat this everything that they're offering here is really

unparalleled on the market we saw a model Oh kind of you know break the ground then in the summer time and put out a lightweight mouse so for here a mouse that is you know a bit setback in terms of features and stuff for anybody looking to save money pick up a brain and give me a mouse and you're on a budget don't have a lot to spend  is uh it's hard to say

no to this so really impressive what's SteelSeries did here with the rival three kit recommended enough if you're on a budget if you want to check it out like I said I'll put a link for you in the description down below without app enough for my review

if you've used a rubber 100 or 110 before you probably have a good idea of the rival three they have made some changes though so I'll go through those first the shape is basically the same there's good curvature on the sides with a thin front and wide back rounded top and there are some nice little comfy cozy in the buttons now really happy to see that change to me they feel much better in speaking of the buttons they sound and feel better to me as well is the sound

comparison and tapping and shaking it to check for rattles it's up to you what you like but I definitely prefer the new ones other than this slightly loose right button no rattles good tension on the wheel I still don't think they have the side buttons right these are too thin the size of the ones on the 110 were better but at least these aren't as loud latency wise her about the same as the g90 3 in my testing the results aren't 100% accurate but it's too close to care they good the

weight has dropped from 90 to about 80 could still go lighter but that's a good weight and the cable is slightly more flexible and a bit nicer but it's still waiting on SteelSeries to use an extra soft cable I had no issues in a bungee anyway they've changed the shape of the feet and they're also announced super thin they seem to glide well and they perform well in game and I don't know why they've made the feed so thin because the liftoff height is about 2 DVDs we're pretty

comfortable at about 1 DVD so they could have just made the feed thicker since the placement is toward the back which doesn't bother me and the performance in game is solid even the cheaper top obstacles are seemingly flawless in game these days we've come a long way here it is next to some other Meister you get a general idea of the size I included the Viper mini and Viper because it's in between them and the Viper mini would be competing on price but there

are different size the rifle 3 is bigger which should make the choice easier so checking the dimensions to grip width is about 5.7 centimeters the length is about 12 centimeters and is about 3.8 centimeters high the button height is quite low with the compa curves at about 1.7 7 centimeters which i think is actually good for aim and I said it's wider at the back at about six point two centimeters I can kind of parm it so up to 18 centimeters would be OK for that

otherwise between 17 and 20 centimeters could fingertip and claw drop it by the 60% rule it would sue 20 by 9.5 that's for a balance of a man comfort but for best team hands a bit larger than that in fingertip would be good and usual software stuff free bind the buttons change DPI from 200 to 8500 in steps of 100 and change the colors I just set a basic gradient for the review value wise I don't think it's as good as Survivor Mini but it is bigger so it's not really competing

still a cheaper and very good Mouse worth a look if it suits what you're after it's filling a bit of a gap in the mouse size market not a top-tier Mouse because of a cable shape could be better and some design issues but nothing major or a concern so if it is your kind of mouse I'd be happy to recommend it looking forward to further improvements.

SteelSeries Rival 3 Gaming Mouse - 8,500 CPI TrueMove Core Optical Sensor review

rivals 3 it's great gaming mouse from steel series so last month I also did an unboxing of rival 110 and I will put the link in description for the full review so rival 3 is faster lighter and durable if you compare it with the rival 110 so without wasting any further time let's unbox this so if you are planning to buy a lightweight Mouse in less than make sure to check this one out

and if you want more reasons to buy this mouse please watch this review till the end there is nothing special in the box - just get the mouse and some paperwork the mouse itself is 13 grams lighter than the rival 110 and the total weight of the mouse is only 77 grams due to lighter weight you can glide this mouse over the clawed mousepad easily the sensor in this mouse is

also upgraded you have to move cold sensor in this one and you have a maximum CPI of 8500 CPI which is slightly more than the rival 110 CPI is just increased from 7200 to 8500 which is not a huge upgrade but the to move code sensor is more accurate if you compare it with to move one sensor more over the design weight and durability of the switches is improved a lot the top Shallon rival 3 is completely redesigned and you have these two sections on the switches

which makes it easier to press the buttons on this mouse only the color of the scroll wheel and the CPI toggle button is changed the design is almost similar to the rival 110 due to redesigned shell the top and the sides have now smooth transition there are no grips on the Shires and you have the same texture of the shell all around looking at the bottom of the mouse we have the smiley face rubberized grips these are changed in the rival 3 and you have these small notches

all around so you can remove these scripts and replace easily so rival 1/10 has a maximum CPI of 7200 maximum acceleration 30g and maximum speed of 240 IPS while in case of rival 3 we have a maximum CPI 8500 maximum speed 300 IPs and maximum acceleration 35 G so I did a small gliding test of both mice and you can see the test on screen rival 3 glides much larger distance while the rival 110 is heavier and it glides at a smaller distance the weight of rival 110

is 90 grams while the weight of rival 3 is only 77 grams , the mouse comes with a normal rubberized cable you don't get any fancy braided cable with this mouse anyhow you can switch the cable to a fancy one the cable length is great and it provides sufficient friction so you don't have to worry about accidental movement of your mouse travel through you also comes with a prism lighting you have three light zones in this mouse and you can adjust the colors from the

SteelSeries engine gaming software the switches and rival three are durable for up to 60 million clicks while in rival 110 the switches have a maximum life of 30 million clicks so let's hear the sound of both switches , to move code optical sensor has a maximum CPI of 8500 which is more than enough for any gamer like most gamers play at CPI less than 1200 and you have to find your sweet spot between 400 and 1200 CPI I have been playing different games at 800 CPI

and I ever adjusted it according to the size of my mousepad so if you have smaller mousepad keep CPI high and if and if you have larger mousepad you can play at low CPI so let's talk about the SteelSeries Engine 3 gaming software you can change almost everything from this software you can change the button layout and the sensitivity you can also set stages for the sensitivity and you can set up to 5 sensitivity stages in the software you can increase the

sensitivity by an increment of 100 so you can set to 400 500 600 and so on similarly you can change your mouse acceleration from the gaming software and you can also change the polling rate from the software, you can also customize the lighting on your SteelSeries rival three using the same software there are three lighting zones in the rival three and you can set any color mode to any light zone you can select different color modes for different zones in this

way you can customize your rival three as you like SteelSeries engine also supports other games and apps like discord and csgo which can also change colors depending on the situation in the game this code can also use the software to linked lights to your voice or notifications in discord , okay so let's test the smalls in some games , hopefully I give you enough reasons to buy this mouse this is a cheaper lightweight gaming mouse from SteelSeries and if you are planning to buy a Baus in less than . make sure to pick this one I will put the

Amazon link in description travel through the great gaming mouse in terms of design durability and weight the switch is used in SteelSeries rival three are the same as used in expensive models by steel series having the same life of 60 million clicks these switches can last longer than your imagination because of its ambidextrous design both right-handed and left-handed gamers can use this mouse .

the review of the newly released SteelSeries rival three gaming mouse and this mouse comes in  and we're gonna find out is it worth that so first off I want to talk about the dimensions in the weight and actually using it get it in my hands and playing with so I played fairly decent with it right here I'm more of a palm gripper or a claw to a palm gripper pretty

much all the time right there now this one right here pretty much forced me to go into fingertip quite a bit sometimes I can bring it in to that claw right there but it barely catches into the back of my palm so again the majority of time I did claw this mouse so right off the bat right there I would recommend this mouse for small to medium hands unless you have larger hands and you

really prefer that fingertip grip right there because again that's pretty much it'll always threw me into let me tell you my whole time using this mouse but kept on coming back into the hit my head right here is the cooler master mm 710 or 711 right there cuz again I don't use many fingertip mice right there and that's pretty much primarily what that mouse was right there and that's just what this really as far as playstyle and testing I don't mention it a little bit different and everything but as far as the hump location on this guy and everything it felt very

very similar to that Mouse right there again primarily claw and fingertip now another great example that might be a little bit better for you guys a lot of yous might have tried out is the SteelSeries rival 110 right here this is pretty much a spin image of an updated version so if you ever had this in your hands you can kind of relate to this very well here now I'm also talking about dimensions and actually get in my hands right here there's some really cool design things within this mouse which I think SteelSeries does and a lot of their mice number one is a scroll

wheel check out nice and low recess that is right there really nice you're just in a moment BAM right up on top of the scroll you don't got to lift your finger praying thing I love it it's almost just like again a nice low button right in there in between one and two absolutely perfect now also speaking about that scroll were right there being nice little recess as you can see Mouse 1 & 2 they kind of arch up right there in its own little platform going right to the back to that dpi button now as you all know if you see any my other videos I use my scroll wheel a lot again

playing a lot of call duty John McClane mores whatnot but whenever I get onto that scroll wheel sometimes my fingers just kind of rest on the right there your finger does go BAM right on top of that dpi button and you feel it I never actuated a DPI button but again I do feel it all my finger right on the back right here and it was a little weird at first also on mouse 1 & 2 right up here and I don't think the camera is gonna be able to catch us I did not clean this mouse I've been using the heck out of it and again I just left it as is fingerprints and everything on it which

by the way it does pick up a few fingerprints but anyway I left it all grimy and everything on here so hopefully you guys can see it but mouse 1 & 2 they come down right here and then they just sloped down like you got finger grooves right at the very tippy top up here like down here it's just kind of rounded and then down here kind of swoops in but the best way I can explain when I get my hand on the mouse right here my fingers will rest on the top and then BAM right there they slow down and get right into the grooves that was very weird at first definitely the

first time I've ever felt something like that you know what I mean so it's kind of weird my god my finger supposed to be resting or should to be up here like this you know what I mean but after why you get used to it it's like wow this is really cool and it fits fantastic now one other thing about the buttons right here these side buttons they're tiny as you can see right here but let me tell you what you can really decide for them just a little tiny gap right in the middle right

there so I can always decide for I'm never a miss Preston or anything I always knew which one I was pressing and they are tiny but again they're right there for your thumb they almost like lift up with your thumb because it kind of arch out a little bit right there I honestly love them they're tiny I can decipher them very clicky and right to the point but one thing about them as you can see they kind of come out fairly sharp right there on the edge and again after my play

session for quite a while using my side buttons and everything they almost started just kind of poking into my hand again I use mine all the stinking time to like slide and stuff like that you know to mean so a little sharpness on the edge yeah did you get a little bit annoying my thumb after a while but it get nothing deal breaking alright so now that we talked about all the buttons and kind of layout I'm gonna really focus on the build right here again I want you to remember

this mouse is coming in  straight up MSRP  and let me tell you what at  this rival three Mouse right here is built like an absolute tank I know so many people out there gonna call me a steal serious fanboy whatnot as always praise their products but you get this thing in your hand and compare it to some of the other mice we review some of the mice you all know what I'm talking about but anyways this rival three right here no cranking

no creaking no flexin absolutely incredibly solid again at only 30 bucks now talking about the fantastic solid build we have right there right this mouse comes in at only 77 grams like what's next what's next is the incredibly awesome RGB on this Mouse right here as you can see I have it on color of mode or flow right now and it's kind of fading right from the back to the front and the softer you can do a steady there's really not many as far as effects you can do for the

RGB red therapy there's only four from steady and then again the flow and all that stuff right there you can pick your custom color and everything but yeah the software is limited right now the RGB is absolutely crisp fantastic crisp but again I do think the software needs a little bit tuning now let's talk a little bit more into performance here underneath the mouse we're using a true move core sensor I'm not too sure what the core actually kind of relates to right there I

used true moved the true move Plus and everything and again it's true move core they all have worked fantastic they're all spot-on again talking sensors and any mice these days it's kind of like I mean it's one in a million that you're gonna have a bad one all the mice I have tested across the board I've had one bad sensor in a mouse that is it and again going back to this one right here spot-on now I'm gonna show you this next thing underneath the mouse right here

and I don't know if they meant to do this but it's maybe it's just me catching it and I think it is super cool steer Sears if you're out there let me know if you meant to do this right here check out this smiley face on the bottom of the mouse right we have two mouths feet right up here with the eyes sensor nose and then you have the big smile right there like that has to have been done on purpose and let me tell you what with the combination of a nice rubber cable you all

know I love rubber cables over braided cables they don't catch on the end of your mouse pad right there anything or get that real scraping sound II just flow across your mousepad I pretty much use a mouse bungee for all of mine which I recommend you with this one as well but still any bit that drops down onto your mousepad it's just gonna flow across and not drag and scratch like a braided cable and also your cable comes out plenty far right there so you don't

get that initial drag from directly out of the mouse but with those feet in the cable right there I mean this Mouse just glides across our here I'm using the SteelSeries qck is I want to call qck mouse pad right here and this thing is just butter I mean you don't hear any scraping scratching or grinding right down there super stinking smooth so with our final conclusion right here let's just combine everything we went over right starting at 30 bucks right going

right into the build then go into the features of the RGB and everything like that with a nice cable and all that the feet underneath the smiley face like come on that makes the sale just worth it right there you know what I mean but again let's just pile all that in right there Wow an absolute complete win and I honestly think that's kind of the platform they're building off right here like hey check this out what we can offer  at 77 grams I mean what the

check can they offer  I can't wait to find out I don't have one out there like I said it before is gonna be calling me a steel serious fan when I'm just praying this still seems gonna send me this right here to review heck SteelSeries hasn't sent me anything to review steel series your ster would be nice if you sent me something to review already but hey thank you so much
