today I'm looking at royal clutches 60% keyboard I do want to make a quick note about any kind of keyboard you get that's a 60% keyboard especially if it's your first one save that little manual that comes with it because it tells you all of your double shortcut or most of the many ways you'll get a clue of how to use it a little bit by using functionality key or the function key FN key and for the most part I didn't really care so much about doing a review for this but then I realized I've seen Royal clutch before I haven't reviewed anything that they've had so when I
got this basically because it was the cheapest 60 percent I could find I'm sure you guys could do better but it's the cheapest one I could find I had a different thing in mind for it in which I'm gonna do it another video but I wanted to go ahead and take a look at this one now this isn't an RGB version it's kind of like a very cool white lit backlit keyboard you can't change things like
brightness you can go brightness all the way off to brightness all the way up and it'll alert you by flashing when you've gone too far telling you it can't get any brighter than that it also surprisingly had 17 different lighting functions which is pretty cool will pause here and I'll kind of roll through those so you can see the lining functions it's pretty neat to have that on such a cheap keyboard I expected it to simply just be a backlit keyboard , other cool things are that it has a battery takes about three hours to charge the battery and I haven't
successfully drained the battery yet so sorry again this really wasn't what I was gonna do here but the battery seems to be pretty good the bluetooth ability on the keyboard itself has the ability to swap between three different Bluetooth devices where would that ever really be useful things like if you had a media center a PC and this was the little kind of pocket-sized keyboard even though it's not pocket-sized unless you are Gingka means keyboard to kind of carry

around with you and use on different devices I could imagine somebody that has like a multi computer set up sort of like this and you wanted to use the same keyboard that might have macro shortcuts on it so you can just quickly change which Bluetooth device it was talking to and take over on that other computer there's an on/off switch on the bottom which should be pretty self-explanatory but if I need to explain it I will off means that the keyboard is off and on means that the keyboard is on because this is where I keep my office and this is where I keep
my owns you also notice that there's no riser feet on it it actually sits up pretty nice it's a really comfortable little keyboard I was surprised by that too but it's just got four rubber feet on the bottom which is pretty great it's got a good hefty weight to it too so it's not like super light but because of its size that extra weight really goes a long ways into helping it kind of feel durable

and good construction quality to sit on the desk this specific keyboard uses a variation of blue switches now they're branded RK I imagine for Royal plug so specifically what switches they are I don't know if I had to guess probably something like TTC switches they're unbraced regular old cross stem switches you can put other key caps on them and swap that around as needed if you wanted to put some different wast keys on it as long as they're crossed in want keys you can put them on there if you've never heard blue switches before first of all I'm really
surprised that you second of all we'll do a quick sound test here where I use some old keyboard footage mixed in with this footage so that you can hear the difference between these blue switches and a couple other variations of switches, look I think this is a great little keyboard just if you're looking for a cheap little mechanical keyboard I like the fact that it's

Wireless I like the fact that you can have multiple Bluetooth devices on it I do like the fact that it's backlit but that really wasn't a concern for me I didn't care if it was backlit or not cuz I wanted that off and while I'm kind of mentioning that I do want to say when you plug it in to charge there is an atrocious obnoxious and this shouldn't have happened a red light that shines through on the space bar and that drives me bonkers so if you've been using it and then you plug it in you've got that red light and even if you turn all the lights off on the keyboard that
red light is very persistent it stays on on the space bar other than that there's really not a lot to say about it it's good construction quality made out of really durable plastic and I think it's it's pretty great for what it is and as cheap as it is it's not necessarily something that everybody's

gonna want and if you're gaming with a mechanical keyboard I'm always gonna recommend a wired version you don't want that delay that bluetooth has the ability to generate for you you want things to be as accurate and actual time as possible anyways guys that's really just kind of a quick look at this keyboard I figured I might as well because a royal clutch is one hell of a name and I really think that a company with a name like that should be doing a lot more they probably are I've just never really looked at their stuff before and I think I'm probably going to now after just even this little thing right here had some had some oomph to it for it not being
one of their spectacular keyboards but you know it made me really interested in more royal clutch stuff and that's something I want to look at .
so as of today there are currently four really popular 60% keyboards in the market the N pro 2 vortex gear poker got the glorious GM MK and the ducky 1/2 mini but what if you don't want to spend that kind of money on a 60% keyboard and still want something similar well you clicked on the right review because that is what these two are a cheaper version of those keyboards but is it worth 65 bucks let's find out , join the custom cooling revolution with the courser hydro x series featuring every part you'll need to make your pc stand out with a

or black and it's one of the highest-rated 60-percent keyboards on amazon this is basically the keyboard everyone gets when they can't afford something like the ducky 1/2 mini but we're gonna see if it's actually worth it so these come in either a blue brown or red switches and the manufacturers of these switches are kale just like cherry Reds decal Reds have a 2 millimeter actuation distance and a total travel distance of 4 millimetre however the biggest difference between these 2 switches as the force required to actuate the kale red switches are slightly heavier at 50 grams of actuation force compared to 45 grams of the cherry Reds to the
untrained eye you can't really tell the difference between these two so the back plate is made out of plastic with minimal flex and the key caps don't experience a lot of wobbling except for the space bar and the shift key which have some rattling present other than that the build quality is great now the key caps on these are made out of ABS plastic instead of PBT however they are using double shot injection method which means that the legends on them won't fade over time now because the key caps are made out of ABS plastic over the next few years the surface of the key caps will develop a shiny effect so that is something to keep in mind I don't really like the font on the keyboard also those numbers are really small so it's kind of hard to
read sometimes if only they put the function keys on the side of the key caps like they did with the N Pro 2 and the ducky then it will not only help make the keyboard look a lot cleaner but they could also make the legend slightly larger since there will be extra space typing and gaming on this keyboard is very comfortable because of the arc design the cue cap start off high near the top and gradually decline eliminating the need for a kickstand so instead there are just four rubber feet behind the keyboard along with a Bluetooth switch the RGB lighting is a really nice feature on this keyboard but personally I don't think it looks that good on the black keyboard mostly because all the keys are tightly grouped up together not allowing any of the
light to bounce back from the top plate I personally think the RGB lighting looks way better on the white keyboard speaking of lighting you can customize the keyboard using the software which is actually surprisingly good you can even set up macros disable certain keys for gaming mode and customize the lighting on here they have a bunch of really cool effects to choose from and the best part is that you can customize each key individually to any color you want you can even customize the speed and the direction of the animation on certain effects the fact that something like this is available for a keyboard within this price range is phenomenal also if you guys want to see all the RGB lighting effect that you can choose from the software I'll drop a
link to a private review down below and I go over all the RGB lighting effects I didn't included in this video because it would be way too long alright now let's talk about the Bluetooth feature so the keyboard can connect up to three separate devices simultaneously and you can use the function Q W or a buttons to easily switch between them in terms of battery life I was getting a solid eight hours of use for my full charge with the RGB lighting on which is pretty good the lighting does shut off on the keyboard after not using it for a minute and that is to say battery life however the testing was done with the lighting on the entire time with the standby feature the keyboard can last up to two days from a full charge if you're typing on this or playing
casual games then I would say it's fine to go wireless but if you're playing competitively I strongly recommend going wired I regretted playing siege almost immediately I mean there was noticeable latency and it actually affected my performance in the game it's not too bad but it's enough where it will make a difference so make sure to plug it in while gaming the microUSB cable is detachable which is always great if you need to travel and store them separately or if you need to replace the cable when it gets worn out or damaged however the length is still too short it's about a hundred eighty centimeters which is not long enough to reach the back of my PC but technically it is detachable so I guess you can buy a longer cable but you shouldn't have to I don't know why these manufacturers don't make long cables with these keyboards and
finally I do want to talk about the user experience with these keyboards because I feel like it might be a deal-breaker for those people wanting to switch over to 60% keyboards especially people coming from a full-size keyboard like I did you're gonna experience a lot of frustration because you no longer have quick access to a lot of keys like the delete button question mark and the arrow keys which I use frequently when I'm editing if you want to use the arrow keys then you have to press and hold the function key and then press shift which will then switch the keyboard enabling the use of the arrow keys but then you have to switch it back just to use the
question mark now if you want to use the HOME key or any of the surrounding keys you can hit the function and control keys to switch the keyboard once again but personally I find that very annoying so I rather just hold a function key and press whatever key I want instead of having to switch the entire keyboard just for a single press and here are my final dots I really enjoyed my time using the RK 61 however there are a few things that I didn't like about the keyboard the first being the short USB cable which I mean I guess can be fixed by buying a longer cable but I shouldn't have to number two the aesthetics of the keyboard I think it looks kind of messy you would all that text crammed on the key caps I would've loved to see some of the legends on the side of the caps for a cleaner minimalistic look number three it's got no
media buttons which really sucks because I love listening to music while getting some work done and doesn't have any dedicated buttons for that and finally the latency via bluetooth I would have loved to use this keyboard wirelessly in gaming but the latency ruins it for me and I get it guys there's a reason why these keyboards aren't in a premium price tag all those features cost extra money and it would raise the price of the keyboard being an editor I found it very difficult using this keyboard because I'm so used to having dedicated buttons to press on the fly during an edit for example the Delete key or the arrow keys to screw up through a timeline I was loving my time with the keyboard during gaming but as soon as I took it home to other videos I hated it so if you guys can look past the negatives and you're in the market to buy a
wireless 60% RGB mechanical keyboard under $$then you should definitely check this out for the price it's got my vote now if you want to use this for productivity specifically editing videos then I think that this keyboard would be great in combination with something like an elgato screen deck where you can customize shortcuts and macros for convenience otherwise the keyboard just by itself just doesn't cut it and as if my review
the unit itself then a rubberized micro USB cable and a key caps bowler you also get a user guide which details most of the core functions of the keyboard looking at the board a little closer you'll notice the micro USB port at the back close to Center that's a bit unconventional most keyboards out there USB port at the left and being an older keyboard it doesn't have a type C port which is probably a compromise you need to make when you go with cheaper boards these days the case is knowing go adjustments whatsoever and you'll find the on/off
switch under it to power the keyboard when using it wirelessly the case seems to be made from ABS and quality is okay overall it's glossy on the side so I expect the black variant to show fingerprints taking a look at the layout it follows the ANSI standard so replacing key caps will be fairly easy you don't get dedicated arrow keys but the Alt menu control and question mark section can be used as arrow keys by default that's their default behavior and you need to hit function to get back to regular keys fortunately you can invert that behavior to get the arrow
keys only when you hold down function that's possible by hitting function and shift the key caps are unfortunately abs however they have a matte finish so the Mike last longer than other regular abs key caps also their double shot so legends won't wear out over time and the material they use is translucent so it will let light shine through unfortunately close shake characters have slits but that's quite common in budget keycaps then all keys accessible with the function key are laser-etched so these might wear off after some time these are definitely not high-end key caps but they will probably do the job for most people under those key caps hide
our key branded switches I went with browns but you can usually get this keyboard with reds or blues as well these switches are decent I would say they feel better than what I remember out ammu's feeling like you're heavier than get around Browns I would say the Philippines like kale box Browns but they're not as smooth and their actuation point is lower pretty much midway through the travel distance overall they fell right for the price stabilizers aren't too bad either keys wobble a tad and they don't sound that amazing but keys don't stick and they go down straight they really look like the original and pro one stabilizers and these were quite terrible
but they don't feel as bad as I remember so typing on this keyboard feels decent considering the price I think it's great as you don't get too many mechanical keyboards at that price point anyway and while you'd get a better experience with more expensive keyboards it's definitely an upgrade compared to a membrane keyboard this keyboard is also equipped with LEDs my unit in particular has RGB LEDs while they can get a variant of this board with a static LED color for a few dollars less I have to say colors look great and they're quite vibrant the lights
shine brighter than my AMPRO and are on par with most high-quality keyboards you can control the animation color speed and brightness with onboard controls and you get a good variety of colors and animation and whites look great too this keyboard can also be used wirelessly over Bluetooth by hitting function and tab you can switch from wireless to Wired mode back and forth without unplugging the keyboard then to pair it to a device you will hold down function in B and select it from your phone or computer the keyboard can remember up to 3 devices to switch from one to the other and overall the latency was acceptable still I wouldn't use it wirelessly for gaming as there can be some latency or instability at times now in
terms of program ability this keyboard doesn't have much to offer compared against the n pro 2 or the GK 61 where both of these have software to remap keys and change two or more layers directly onboard with this keyboard you're left with the default layouts so if you don't like arrow keys where they are it'll be harder to change that and this is where I would leave you with a conclusion overall this keyboard has a lot to offer for the price you get a decent typing experience great backlight LEDs double shot key caps and Bluetooth connectivity compared against the end pro - it's definitely a downgrade as the end pro - can be reprogrammed as PVD keycaps out of the box better switches with more variants and USBC without losing Bluetooth connectivity and RGB LEDs but it sells at a higher price so it makes sense in the same price
range the GK 61 would be a really great contender to the SRK 61 you get gather on switches which I would write as better and you gain key remapping as well as custom led animations and USBC but you lose Bluetooth connectivity and double Schottky caps I don't think one is definitely better than the other as they both have compromises and at this point it's just a matter of picking the compromises that mattered leads to you

RK ROYAL KLUDGE RK61 Wireless 60% Mechanical Gaming Keyboard review
the Royal clutch RK 61 is one of the best-selling 60% mechanical keyboards ever and why you might ask well I would think the price is one of the main reasons as this keyboard is generally offered under $$ and its back with a bunch of amazing features it has double Schottky caps backlight LEDs with some versions being RGB and it can connect over Bluetooth now this keyboard has been available for over two years so the question is is it still worth it in 2020 well let's see if it's the case so this keyboard comes in the brown branded box in it you getthe unit itself then a rubberized micro USB cable and a key caps bowler you also get a user guide which details most of the core functions of the keyboard looking at the board a little closer you'll notice the micro USB port at the back close to Center that's a bit unconventional most keyboards out there USB port at the left and being an older keyboard it doesn't have a type C port which is probably a compromise you need to make when you go with cheaper boards these days the case is knowing go adjustments whatsoever and you'll find the on/off
