Havit KB395L Review Summary

Havit is quite known for their ‘value for money’ factor such as with the MS794 gaming mouse, and this keyboard is not much different. While it is not an actual ”budget” product like most Havit gear, it does hold an unusually high amount of value for money.

For a keyboard in its price range, it has so much on offer. Most of which you usually have to pay a lot of extra money for. Such as actual RGB backlighting. RGB stands for Red, Green, and Blue and just mean that you can customize the backlight to be any color under the sun. On top of choosing colors, there are plenty of excellent LED modes and patterns you can choose from. All of which is done through a convenient shortcut on the keyboard.

While this keyboard is a visual treat, it is not all it offers. It is sporting blue switches from Kailh which gives it very decent tactile feedback as well as a crisp mechanical sound. If you are not sure how mechanical switches work then

Admittedly this is the first time for me reviewing an ”ultra-thin” mechanical keyboard, and I was quite skeptical, to begin with. Just because everything comes at a price. For a keyboard to be thinned down, you will need to sacrifice either the switches, some of the interior or the keys themselves. Luckily, all that has been sacrificed is 7mm of the keys which is quite a lot and definitely takes some time getting used to. Whether or not the thinned down keys are a useful feature or not comes down to you. The keyboard feels noticeably different than a regular mechanical keyboard but it still has a really crisp and tactile feel.

Personally, I do slightly prefer regular mechanical switches over the thinned down version but that is mostly about my personal preferences and not because the switches are worse.

what up guys today we're gonna be reviewing the habit RGB low profile mechanical switch keyboard it's the RGB full-size keyboard version it's basically the Big Brother of the tanki list right here so let's get started right off the bat I'm definitely excited for the for this keyboard so what we got here enjoy what I have yes this is gonna be a sweet keyboard little box here alright got standard packaging here instruction no one reads that card whatever let's get that out of the way let's get to the meat of this see what we got interesting this is probably a microUSB similar to the other habit keyboard yeah Micro Micro USB get out of the way and let's take a

look at the keyboard all right this thing is pretty slim first first impressions it's pretty much just the full-size version of the tank keyless one except this one has full RGB yep the same feeling but this is where it's at definitely I know tang keyless keyboards are the trend now they take up less space but put some motor activity wise you can't beat the number pads here yeah so the keys on these men I really like the switches but anyways let's get hooked up and see how this baby shines so yeah guys here's the keyboard hook up don't mind the flickering of the RGB lights here that's just an effect of the camera itself but taking a look at the keyboard hooked up first thing I'll notice is there's not a lot of flexing in the keyboard itself I'm actually kind of

twisting it it's pretty rigid this backplate is aluminum which gives it kind of a premium feel and look however if if I feel the underside of it it's got this cheap plastic feel on the backside which doesn't give it that much of a premium feel you know the main appeal of this keyboard are the keys right there low profile for me I'm a big fan of low profile lower travel distance for keyboards so it actually it's pretty quick and they use the Cal blue switches which is a good clone of Cherry MX blues so if you guys like the clicky tactile feeling of MX blues uh I would definitely give this keyboard a shot the keys are pretty good the only thing I don't like is like

one when I'm typing the spacebar has this kind of clunky sound it might be hard to catch in the camera here the camera's mic right here but uh when I type it's got that loud clunk sound it doesn't have that like a satisfying click but uh the RGB lights is pretty good they're not super bright it's kind of muted probably because it's a dark background but I bet if this was like all white it'd be pretty bright so not so bad next we'll see what it'll look like in low light so yeah guys here's the keyboard in low light so you get a better idea of the RGB effects on the keyboard we can go through the functions real quick if you press down function and f1 this is like a layout I think it's a certain like gaming layout maybe for RTS let's see yeah - WASD yeah this looks like the FPS setting f3 I don't know what this is a four it looks like another FPS

setting and this is another setting depending probably a MOBA or something I play a lot of fighting games so and maybe some FPS games uh but but yeah these modes are something I probably won't use maybe that ps1 is just pretty cool but let's look at the lighting effects so yeah guys this is the default wave mode of the keyboard we can cycle through the different effects each each of these effects can be a fine-tuned for instance I can increase the wave frequency on this if I hit a function and page up as you see the wave is going faster where I could slow it down it's a much slower so will cycle through the different effects do a function f 6 we get this kind of effect do another f6 interesting it's circular pattern yeah I think that's it that's the

original wave the next one is okay so that's pretty cool I like the RGB effects let's go the next effect oh that's a snake one this is a slow version you can speed it up as you can see when I left finish on it goes back and I think it changes color yup there we go let's try the next effect oh so this is kind of like the the raindrop one okay and this is the the memory effect and I guess you can toggle through all the different colors onto the next effect we got breathing in changes different colors I'm pretty sure you can change the breathing rates yeah so that goes a little bit faster yeah and that toggles two different colors what's the next one I think this is uh yeah it

looks just as like solid colors yeah you can cycle through all the different colors here pretty cool but I think the last effect is not an effect this is actually program mode I have no idea how to use this but um as of right now there supposed to be a driver programmable driver for this keyboard unfortunately there are no dedicated media keys on this keyboard the programmable driver promises to bring media keys and assignable key mapping so I'm definitely looking forward to that as I'm a big user of media keys that that's pretty crucial for me as I'm constantly on Spotify and skipping tracks volume controls are definitely key but uh yeah I

mean overall this keyboard is it's it's pretty solid I mean the only drawback is obviously no media keys but the low profile switches and the the Cal blue switches which is a worthy clone of Cherry MX blues I would say this is a pretty solid keyboard you can hear the typing if you guys like blues and the tactile clicky feedback I think you guys will be a fan of this keyboard so if you guys like low profile and blue switches with a decent build quality with RGB lighting there's not a lot of keyboards on the market that can match this
