I'm unboxing and reviewing the latest affordable offering from Corsair the new  k55 RGB gaming keyboard let's get started right off the bat it's important to note that this keyboard is a budget option so there are a lot of compromises in its features but that doesn't mean to say this just have a robust feature set but I'm sure will satisfy most users after taking it out of the box you'll notice a sleek clean looking design it's not easy to tell this is a budget keyboard just by looking at it the only thing that gives it away is its hard plastic components and textured matte plastic body instead of a brushed aluminum found in more expensive Corsair keyboards the plastic construction on the board means it is a lightweight product but in a good way despite its light weight the body doesn't feel hollow or breakable and it definitely does not feel like you only got this for 50 bucks the package includes a soft plastic wrist rest which is nice to have however it is not nearly as comfortable to use compared to the wrist rests found in premium gaming products at the back of the keyboard you'll find rubber pads to keep it in place and it does a job very well as the keyboard doesn't slide around there are also foldable plastic feet for ergonomic vertical adjustment unlike more expensive boards with gold plated USB braided cables the k55 comes with an ordinary USB cable to be honest I really couldn't care less about this as the USB cable serves its purpose regardless of it not having a gold-plated tip now here's where this board really shines there are a ton of features and functions on this board comparable to feature sets of higher-end products on the left side of the keyboard you'll find six additional fully programmable macro keys which work great for mobile games and memos or even special shortcuts and video and photo editing the k55 has an anti ghosting feature which means that up to eight keys can be registered when pressed at the same time although the board doesn't have any USB ports it's easy to forget that  when it first heard about the k55 I wasn't expecting it to be capable of doing so much since it is entirely a plug-and-play device there are no drivers required and it doesn't interface with Corsair software this means that everything from macro mapping and multimedia controls to RGB lighting is done entirely using the keyboard obviously this is a limiting factor but I was surprised to see the sheer number of options and how it's so simple to use next to the multimedia controls at the top you'll find a lock button which is the gaming mode this disables the Windows key so your gaming session won't be interrupted in case he pressed the Windows key accidentally next to the lock button you'll find the RGB lighting and macro keys recording macros is very simple on this board all you have to do is press the macro key select which program will key you want to use on the left side press the buttons you want to record then press the macro button at the top again to save it now it's time to take a look at the RGB lighting modes since this has no software controlling the RGB lighting zones on this keyboard is done by pressing the function key in combination with a number keys at the top number seven is the custom mode here you can customize the three zones with colors of your choosing by cycling through f1 f2 and f3 keys for each zone you can hold down function 7 when you're done customizing to save your custom preset function 8 cycles unify colors for all three zones function 9 pulses different colors function 0 enables color spectrum cycling function - pulses the colors while scrolling right-to-left function equal switches to rainbow color wave mode for the last three modes you can change the speed and direction of the lighting by pressing the function key in combination with the up and down arrow keys for speed and left and right for direction so as you can see you won't get the full sixteen point eight million colors found in more expensive boards but there are already more than enough lighting options built into this forward without the software to keep you satisfied the RGB lighting on this board is bright and vibrant even in a well-lit environment and is accentuated by the white backplate underneath the key caps the k55 doesn't feature mechanical switches like other more expensive gaming keyboards and it instead uses an unspecified corsair membrane switch which feels a lot better than other membrane keyboards that you might have used in the past while this of course lacks so tactile click and feedback compared to mechanical keys typing on this feels great and responsive it's not mushy at all and if you're new to PC gaming looking for a quiet keyboard and are not used to mechanical switches he definitely would have a great experience typing on this board since this is a lot quieter than a typical mechanical keyboard fears a quick sound test to see how typing on this sounds compared to my Razer BlackWidow excrement witches which sounds and feels exactly like Sheree MX glutes so here's the bottom line the k55 is a great keyboard for the low price  there are a ton of features without the need of using any drivers or software it's very simple and easy to use and k55 looks like a premium product with included wrist rest vibrant RGB lighting with numerous modes and cool-looking glossy bezel at the top displaying the Corsair logo the multimedia Keys are a nice touch and the six additional macro keys on the left side which are easily only found in more expensive boards are great to typing on this thing feels good and responsive so you won't need to worry about mushy keys now it's time for need greed or pass if you're new to PC gaming and if you're looking for the most affordable RGB gaming keyboard packed with a ton of features found in more expensive keyboards definitely roll in need on this but if you have some extra cash to spare if you're willing to save up for something twice the price definitely get a mechanical keyboard instead either way if you're thinking of buying this product you won't be disappointed as Corsair did a really great job on this budget keyboard there you have it guys my review the new k55 RGB gaming keyboard from corsair

Corsair K55 RGB Gaming Keyboard - Quiet & Satisfying LED Backlit Keys review

the Corsair k55 gaming keyboard this keyboard has a lot of features that gamers will appreciate like dedicated macro keys and anti-ghosting and anyone that is looking for an inexpensive keyboard with RGB lighting should take a look at this especially since it's priced at a very affordable 50 bucks but for everyone out there hoping that Corsair could do all this and deliver an RGB keyboard with mechanical switches your excitement might end there the k55 uses traditional membrane keys this keyboard came out about a month ago but I've had a hard time finding it I'm not sure if it's your selling super well or what but it sold out everywhere I was lucky enough to find it on Amazon although it's sold out again I'll put a link below if you want to check availability starting off with the design of the keyboard the k55 is a very clean and modern look although everything's plastic here you won't find a brushed aluminum frame like you will on the much more expensive k70 the mix of textured matte and gloss plastic give it a really nice look the keyboard is a nice feel it manages to be lightweight without feeling hollow or cheap there are four rubber feet on the bottom as well as two legs that fold out if you want to angle it the k55 also comes with a detachable wrist rest that clips on it's not the most comfortable wrist rest Corsair calls it a soft rubber but there isn't anything soft about it I like the design of the texture but it feels like hard plastic I personally don't use wrist rests and some keyboards don't even include one so the fact that you get one at all is a plus Corsair was able to cut some of the more premium features without making this feel like a budget keyboard the cables just a typical rubber cable instead of a braided cable you'll find on most gaming accessories and you won't find a USB port on the keyboard but you do get dedicated media keys which is a big deal to me I'm not a fan of what manufacturers combine the media keys with the function keys you get a dedicated mute volume and playback buttons so thank you to Corsair for not removing these to make a keyboard that's just slightly smaller also on the top is the macro record button backlight brightness button here you can disable the backlighting or set the brightness to low medium or high there's also a windows disabled key so you don't accidentally interrupt your game by hitting the Windows key this keyboard also has 8 key antigo sting so up to eight keys can be pressed at the same time and all register next to that are four LEDs to indicate the macro recording num lock caps lock and Windows key disable there are also six dedicated macro buttons which you can use to record single or multi key actions there isn't any software needed so you just press the macro record key press the Q you'd like to store it to type out your action and then press the macro record key again to save it now let's take a look at the RGB lighting the Corsair k55 doesn't give you full control to customize individual keys instead there are three zones and twelve pre-configured lighting modes including a custom mode a few of the modes also allow you to change the speed of scrolling or the direction there isn't any software to do the programming but controlling everything is easy enough using the function key along with the number row pressing the function and the one key will light up the three zones as red green and blue function 2 is yellow cyan and purple function 3 is blue cyan and red function 4 is purple green and yellow function 5 is orange purple cyan function 6 is green blue and white and function 7 is your custom mode here you can customize each of the 3 zones with one of eight colors you can cycle through the different colors by pressing function and the f1 f2 or f3 keys for each zone when you're all finished you hold down function and seven for three seconds to save your setting function and eight will let you cycle through eight colors for all three zones function 9 will pulse all the different colors function 0 will color shift through all the different colors function - will color pulse while scrolling right-to-left and function equal will give you the rainbow wave from modes 9 through 12 you also get more control you can change the speed by pressing function and the up or down arrows and 4 modes 11 and 12 you can change the direction by pressing function and the left or right arrows so you're not getting full control with the choice of millions of colors like you do on course there's more expensive keyboards but you also don't need any software running in the background like you do on some keyboards out there you just plug it in and go there are plenty of lighting options and I think most people will be happy with the amount of customization you get here the lighting looks really great on this keyboard the white backplate really makes the colors pop the colors are deep and vibrant and the characters on the keys are bold so they show a lot of light through the k55 doesn't use Cherry MX switches like Corsairs mechanical keyboards do this is a typical membrane keyboard and it feels just like a typical membrane keyboard typing on this feels good overall but it really is a personal preference if you're used to mechanical switches this feels mushy by comparison there's no click or tactile bump but compared to other membrane keyboards out there the keys feel responsive and typing feels good the k55 is also much quieter than a mechanical keyboard so anyone with a roommate or a wife nearby might appreciate this now I'll go ahead and show you how it sounds compared to a keyboard with cherry MX blue switches which have the audible click so that just about wraps it up overall Corsair did a great job with the k55 you get a really nice keyboard with a ton of features for under fifty bucks it's got a clean and simple look I'm a fan of the matte plastic with the gloss top I love that you get dedicated media buttons and the six macro buttons are nice to have even though you don't get perky customization the RGB lighting looks really great and the colors are vivid and saturated it would be nice to get a USB port here but for 50 dollars you can't complain really the only thing this keyboard is missing is actual mechanical switches so that does it the

course their k55 RGB membrane keyboard you know what let's pop it open and see what we got  nothing to give you a quick sound test and as I always do just letting you know the mic is about as far as I would be sitting from the keyboard maybe a squeeze further not not not much at all like I said maybe an inch match you know what I mean the keyboard is upside down but I want to be facing you guys I'm not a fast typer anyways but I'm just gonna smash some of these keys so you can hear what it sounds like really soft and quiet it's just so smooth like I just want to I just want to write a story or type up a letter shoot an email it just feels so good they go down and it's just like God just feels nice it's so smooth it is so quiet I'm not really like this keyboard I think for the price you're gonna really solid build with a lot of features now let's cover some of these features so let's start off first as you guys can see this thing is going to the disco here and these RGB czar just going to town right you press where do we got a function you're gonna press function oh dear well hey why don't we cover this walk rad it up this thing comes with the wrist rest in your box and as you can tell it just clips on right there right it's just gonna clip on under there and you can take it off if you want me personally I prefer it off but it does come on there were some rubber feet but uh hey let's put that over there and let's get back to the RGV alright now that we got that taken care of it doesn't pop off that easy by the way it clips on there with four clips under there and then it stays on the really solid I was bending it the wrong way so it just snapped off it didn't break it just unclipped so uh wrist rest covered many ways RGB again you gotta press the the function and then whatever key you want and it all I don't know if you got something to see that on camera but it'll change it you can see a vaguely on the bottom there and it'll change colors per zone and then also with your effect like function and the plus sign will put it into that rainbow effect right there so it's it's almost just like that hyper X when I just recently reviewed right everything's controlled on it which is really nice I mean I honestly love it as much as I love IQ software I love how it's implemented within to the product and I won't think I think it's super cool about this keyboard as well is you have your audio controls right up top here as you saw on a previous ones your volume up down you have mute and then you have your controls over there whether it be stop play fast-forward rewind and everything and that is super cool to have that feature right up top there at the either click of your fingers right there the other buttons up here on the top you're gonna have your your windows lock key your brightness for your keyboard which you can turn it off and then go up one step two and then three is your max for brightness and it gets brighter I got these lights on it right now but if you just had a sit in there it gets pretty nice and very vibrant for you now this key over here is gonna be your macro button which I'm gonna swing it to the opposite side and you can see you got the six macro buttons over this you can program to what you want I don't use them but if you do like I said you have 6 to program right there now while we're talking about that macro and those six buttons right over there again I said I don't use them and honestly I don't like them right there um it's just like I'm a sloppy player like let me just be honest with you right like I'm all over the place press the wrong buttons right so hey maybe I just need more practice with everybody anyways I'm hitting my keys I'm playing my game and half the time I'm smashing these macro keys over here don't be wrong I don't have a program so they're not doing anything but they're right there and I kind of misplaced myself sometimes when I'm over here trying to get to these ones um start pressing those again that's probably just me being you know a poor player whatever but it annoys me if it's minor but like I said it annoys me now like I stated before it is a membrane keyboard you can still pop your keys off if you desire and a little tougher than a mechanical keyboard but you can get them off if you need oh no I mean I I really like it I really do and maybe that's for the price I paid for which is 39 bucks the time of me filming this video is on sale for 41 on Amazon and at that price point I think it's a great keyboard at MSRP of  i'ma still think it's good but  I don't think I'd point you in a different direction I just tell you save up a little bit more but again at that 39 that  price range again I still think there's a good keyboard at 50 bucks I think at that  price range you're getting a bargain you're getting a great deal but you seriously get a lot packed into this guy again we'll talk regular MSRP F 50 bucks I think get a lot packed in it right you get this wrist guard right here that slips out on the bottom down there you get to RGB with a bunch of different custom customization on it right you get your macro keys if you're into that the audio controls up at the top I think are fantastic you know what I mean and you get that quality Corsair build which i think is just fantastic one of the best out there but anyways thank you all so much for watching this review and of course here k55 RGB gaming keyboard oh man that's a mouthful but anyways the Corsair k55 RGB keyboard in the box there's the keyboard itself it connects through USB it also comes with a wrist rest let's take a look at that it has some cool patterns going across it okay it's made out of plastic it doesn't feel soft or anything it just feels like plastic the warranty right here there's nothing else in the box here's the keyboard to connect it you do not need any type of software you just connect it to your PC or your laptop and it will start working I'm gonna go ahead and connect it to my laptop I'm not a serious gamer but I do want to get into PC gaming soon that's what it looks like when you first connect it to your computer for a keyboard that was only $50 this keyboard comes with six dedicated macro keys and for them to work you don't even need to install any software you just click that button right there and you can customize your macro keys to your liking technically this wouldn't be considered a mechanical keyboard because looking inside of it it has membrane switches it doesn't feel or work like a mechanical keyboard this has three zones one right here one right here and the third one right over here the keyboard has a couple of options you can hit f1 and click on one it will make a solid color in zone 1 zone 2 and zone 3 and if you press function 2 it will switch the colors function 3 it will do the same function 4 5 6 7 now 7 it completely turns it off meaning you can press function and press f1 for zone 1 zone 2 zone 3 and zone 4 you press it and you could pick the color you want it to be you can basically customize the keyboard in zone 2 I could change it to whatever color I want when zone 3 like that now pressing function and 8 it turns the whole keyboard into one solid color if I press it again it will change color now a function 9 it does this little pulsing action and it changes color while it's doing that and function 10 or function 0 should do the same thing but change the color faster and the last one if you press function and the - it's going to do a rainbow effect the color is still changing in different zones I don't think that's the last one I think this is the last one this should do a rainbow effect of the colors is changing while it's just going through yeah this looked really cool this is how it sounds it's not a mechanical keyboard sounds like a keyboards you use at school this is how each key looks like it is fully made out of plastic and it wobbles just a little bit but not enough to make the keyboard terrible Corsair did a great job putting separate pause and play button at the bottom and the volume up/down and mute button at the top on the back of the keyboard there are four separate rubber parts for the keyboard to stay in place while you're gaming the keyboard has two legs elevating just high enough for comfortable typing okay let's go ahead and put the wrist rest to see how it feels Corsair claims that the wrist rest is made out of soft rubber but when I put my hand on it it feels just like a plastic and it's not as comfortable for gaming there is also a button right here it lets you change the brightness of the RGB colors makes it just a little bit brighter there's three different levels let's see if it catches the yellow better the question of the day is who should get this keyboard I think the person who should be getting this keyboard is anyone who is on a budget or anyone who wants to become a gamer and wants to get their first gaming keyboard thank you  let me know if you would get the keyboard and tell me what you think about it and have a nice day
