today we're going to be taking a look at the Corsair Vengeance RGB because we must RTV all of the things which obviously means that we're now arty being the memory yes now it's ddr4 and they come in a range of sizes and speeds so we the one I've got here today is 4 x 8 gigabyte giving me 32 gigabyte total and it's 3000 megahertz but they do them in all different speeds and all different sizes one of the things that I will say those when you are with ddr4 and stuff try 


and get the memory speed that you are can afford and the one that you're kind of happy with and then overclocking beyond that point is always then a bonus because there's the difference with bidding nowadays and depending on what that turns up going in your memory my memory kit for example because it over clock amazing and it won't be because of speed bin it's just because it's come from a specific batch but then two months down the line you might get 

one which just runs at your own speed so it's actually really difficult for you no self-respecting or you know a reviewer that understands how this stuff gets done made to be able to you know give you advice on overclocking beyond that point because it's basically it always does come down to the silicon lottery but anyway so apology and this is what they look like they're all very very monochrome and understated and the only giveaway when you look at them like this is the fact it has RGB here now so I removed all the other modules out I to stop the focus having a 

heart attack but this is RDB here now whereas on the old ones the led models they were just colored to show you the colors that were on them so that she red stick and that she white stick with the RT beads you've now just got that little colorful logo on it now the tops do still come off so you do have a customizing option or you know if you wanted to you could print that if you liked but you it does give us ripping off give you a good show of the light bar down here 

now I can't take them apart anymore without risk is destroying them because there is no simple tab or anything like that so if you did want to paint all of it then you do need to be fairly skilled it's definitely not something I particularly wants to do for a review but the top comes off really quickly you do just get your ear sticks down the back but you know standard stuff we've got a black PCB I still laugh at the days where I'm a black PCB was a really big thing you also get 

you know nice black everywhere else the only weird thing that we can this is a connector here Corsair used to have connectors on the modules so that you could there was a basically an external connector on it wasn't variety because anything is that's like temperature and all that sort of thing and you can link all the dims together and on some Dominator flattens they look like that moves on here it's damned damned anyways when they're all gathered together like 

this there obviously is very understated and very kind of nice and black and they're going to fit in with any system okay so once you get your memory installed you do need to make sure that you get this very latest version of Corsair link then the first version that supports the RGB is four point six point zero point eight six so basically it's coarser link version four point six you want get the section here which is actually about we latent season the speeds and also if you do get this running and you think to yourself oh my god I've got three thousand megahertz 

memory here to test and it's only showing 1500 megahertz but don't panic that number you just times it by two because of dual data rate that's what DDR RT stands for so don't worry about that as long as that number at the very top times two is the speed of your memory it's running fine all I've done is enabled XMP for us to be able to test this today so if you have a thirty two hundred megahertz kit it would read 1,600 1,500 it's three thousand fourteen hundred or two thousand eight hundred it's very simple anyway you've got that section and then you have the 

the actual LED section down here so if you've not got the right version of course a link that might not work you also need to make sure especially on this system where we're running dead to 70 on this you need to make sure that you've got the most up-to-date version of Intel management engine or meî because it needs that to be able to talk to the memory so that's something else that you do need to keep in mind anyway once you get in it will be flashing away like this and it's going through a rainbow state but if you go here you can click here or it 

shouting at me because I still like that you can click here and it will bring up a configure LED you can do group and ungroup this is one of the bits at the moment whether you do need to kind of change it because if you do them ungrouped you can't unselect number one so you know you literally just got ungrouped and then they can kind of do what they want is for one of about them and but with group you can't until number one there's no option for that so so that you 

might have one ticked one and two and set some modes and then you could have ticked one and three and then you can have done those and you can add the modules doing different things well at the moment you can't this is literally the very very first section on it so I'm hoping that's going to come later on to be honest with you all they need in a drop-down so that on ungrouped on ungroup you can have a drop-down and it have all of the the individual LEDs showing up as the model you know so we've got four modules here you can have a drop down for anybody 

while led to LEDs really forwards they don't do that the moment but anyway just bring that up anyway but wisdom groups I've got them all tip now what we can do is you can change the colors and it will bring up this box so that you can change any one of the how many of you know silly million colors you've got an infinite amount of choice that you can go through but for anyone that knows RGB the hardest color for our DB is white now when you guys chosen your color you hit OK and then you hit apply and it will go through a stage of changing where they 

will go off and then they will come back on again as you will see there we go they're going off and then they calibrate it may do it one more time just for it to kind of go I've got it sorted but anyway we turn white on and one of the things I can say is I do have have as you've seen the original white LED versions of these kits whether it's literally just got white LEDs on there and the RGB s are incredible at the white to the point where even a score set I think I've dedicated 

White's and they're like no we've just tuned the light bar but they're very very good sometimes you get a bit of yellow sometimes you get a bit of blue and these are quite clear and lovely to be fair so that is your static option and we've also got color poll color shift and then rainbow color pulse you can set up to seven colors that it will pulse between and you can literally go through and you can select your fire colors you can select your seven colors if you want and then there's color pulse and the color shift the only difference between them is add the color pulse actually 

go off in between each color change and the color what do they call the other one the color shift it doesn't it fades between now this is just starting to calibrate itself but you'll see that there were on red now the blue will come on there we go so that's your pulse they go off in between every color iteration that you've chosen but if I was to change it to go on to shift then they just fade between the colors all nice and slow and lovely now I'll set this up to kind of try and trip it 

up as well because you've got some quite old colors white into red and two blue into green then we've got kind of a sky II sort of blue then a yellow and then a pink and the sky blue yellow and pink are very very similar colors when it comes to it and I can tell the difference between them on here quite easily obviously the camera is going to be spazzing out a little bit because of this screen is quite bright and then we've got the lights in there but the place the look for the colors is actually the reflection which is why I've set it up that way because it might trip itself I was 

staring straight at the LEDs but the reflection is actually a really clear place and it picks the colors up quite nicely anyway the only other option that you've got with the LEDs is a rainbow and if we were to hit that it's going to reset itself as I've shown you before and then it will go into the rainbow mode but with the the memory kids don't forget like I said this is the first version of the software it doesn't link in with any of the Corsair keyboards mice or anything like that yet but I'm not even sure when I meant to say but I know it is being worked on and 

there are some quite exciting updates that I've heard about coming through so really wisdom now they are very pretty but you would have to consider them as being a standalone product but there will be mixed so many more many more additions coming through later on like I said I'm not even sure I'm meant to say about yet so that is it one thing I will say though and I can't stress enough is if you are an early adopter please make sure that you check your motherboard first they will work in the performance sense but the software and the LED sense is the bit of 

the moment that's a bit hit-and-miss but like I said I have said I do know they're working incredibly hard because they have to actually check each motherboard individually to work out whether the software and everything is compatible and if not then they're making changes in the link software so it's an immense amount of work but now they are getting on with it as quick as they possibly can D so yes are you going to be one of those brave persons that pre-orders a bit like Rison when you've not you didn't know necessarily what was coming and what wasn't coming or are you going to sit tight and you're going to wait to see what happens later 

on one of the good things I would say though is if you're already invested in the Corsair ecosystem and you are wondering about these the one kind of hint I can give you is it is only going to get better and if you did get these I can pretty much say quite you know clearly I reckon if you did get these you probably are going to end up being quite happy later on because there was other things coming that might put a smile on your face and when I say cause their 

ecosystem that should be quite a big hint there's something that they do at the moment that can't be controlled by software well let's just say that it's it's coming anyway right I'm said too much I have to go this is totally dumb Logan with another review for you .

 of 16 gigabytes of vengeance per a GB memory this is to buy a gigabyte sticks and the good news is straight away this has thirty-two hundred megahertz XMP profiles with CL 16-time is at one point three five volt and why that's a good thing is because this means that it has Samsung BG memory great for overclocking and also great for AMD rise and platform users so I was able to get this stuff up to thirty six hundred megahertz on a be 350 motherboard and 

also I was able to get it up to thirty six hundred megahertz where CL nineteen timings as well on an Intel motherboards so there was no difference in terms of imax overclocks on different platforms and the IQ software works tremendously well you can change the lighting effects on this RGB memory to match your build there's a lot of different effects that you can go through and also you can change the speed and even link it to your other individual items in the whole 

profile however one thing I will state is that I tried an x4 70 motherboard and also a be 350 motherboard and the IQ software still needs to be updated to support those platforms as it did work flawlessly on the z3 70 and the 8th gen 8700 K that's if you want to extract the lighting effects and you want to match it all up and make it work properly at the moment I'm sure they will update that in the future but we're looking at pricing here 

for the 32 hundred megahertz 16 gigabyte kid if you're in Australia and for this price it's really that trade-off of do you want the memory with the extra bling because I think this is the best ddr4 memory that I've seen to date I've got the Trident Z here as well and that looks really good but with the Corsair Vengeance Pro you can control the lighting effects as well as having what I thought was a bit stronger a glow compared to the transi and also pulling out my 

thermal imaging camera to test temperatures at the 3200 mega nodes XMP profiles show that the heat sinks aren't just for bling either they actually do perform quite well reaching a maximum of 38 degrees Celsius under a stress test whilst in a 23 degree ambient environment comparing this to the Trident Z was scoring in the similar ballpark so the heat sinks aren't just for aesthetics they're also for formitz as well another thing about the Vengeance Pro is you can also get up to 4000 megahertz XMP profiles however generally the higher the XMP profile the 

more expensive the memory and comparing it against the previous generation vengeance RGB which is the non pro you can't control the led effects on that but you do get the light spreaders which diffuse light and they are non-transferable to the vengeance Pro they won't fit but you can get that with XMP profiles up to 40 to 66 megahertz - and in conclusion to quickly wrap 

this up the RGB vengeance per memory it does perform really well it does have the bling and it does have the control via the software however it is a little bit expensive even compared to the previous non pro RGB memory so all the extra features worth that premium that is the question I will say seeing this stuff in the flesh and also seeing it at Computex I was very 
impressed it is pretty much the gold standard for RGB memory in 2018 .
