ROSEWILL Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, RGB Backlit Clicky Computer Mechanical Keyboard  review

The GoodThe Rosewill K85 RGB mechanical keyboard features an aluminum frame.
This keyboard has a lightweight driver for more customization options.
The Rosewill K85 RGB features excellent transition animations and an intensive degree of lighting effects.
It is equipped with thick ABS and features universal legends
It is designed with a foldable wrist rest and sleek side lights.

The BadThe secondary legends that are keyboard-specific are laser etched and can wear off quickly, especially when used constantly.
The side plate lighting might get a little annoying and there is no option to turn it off (that being said they’re quite subtle).
It has a Kailh type of switches, which come in either brown or blue, that can often be inconsistent in terms of feel and travel.
The wrist rest is not detachable (you could screw it off but you need the tools).

what's up guys  as you can see today we have another unboxing this time it's the rose will neon que 85 RGB mechanical gaming keyboard  as you can see it says right here 16.8 color backlighting RGB obviously customization setting it has side backlighting which I didn't even know it has blue kale switches as you could see and just by looking at the keyboard it's obviously RGB and you could see all the different lighting modes so let's take a look around the box on the bottom we have some branding as well as on the side we have Rosewill and on the other side roads will again on the backside you can
see the full keyboard layout and a couple of key highlighted and their functions it has n key rollover durable key switches anti-slip rubber foot on the bottom adjustable side backlight which is pretty great I mean I haven't really seen that in many keyboards at least from the ones iPhones but I'm sure they're out there and it also shows you a list of these specifications and features so it has 13 pre-programmed LED modes easy macro recording medium function control and key rollover unique side back LED with color adjustments software suites for

customization settings package contents it's the keyboard and the user manual keyboard specs I'm not gonna read all of them but you guys could take a look at it that's where it says it has a kale switches it has a total key travel of four millimeters and stuff like that you guys could take a look at it you could pause the video i'ma try to have some different angle shots of the box and the keyboard so you guys could check those out so now finally we're gonna be moving into the box see what all the fuss is about so right off the bat we got some some nice protective

packaging we got some foam on both sides as well as a protective film or I don't even know what to call this thing we have a menu right on top of it I'm not gonna look at it just yet if I have trouble doing the color thing of switching the lighting modes and everything like that then I'll take a look at it but this shouldn't be too hard so we're gonna place the box out of the wait okay so here's the keyboard wait a minute all right first impression it sounds very nice and it actually feels pretty premiums I'm not sure I think this is mainly plastic and it does have this thing that what's it called wrist wrist I think wrist rest right there just set it on its side to put

your wrist on top of it maybe make it a little more comfortable while you're typing so that's definitely a positive or I believe I don't know if you could take it off I'm not sure from the looks of it I don't think you can shouldn't be a big problem or shouldn't be a problem for anyone it's not it's not super big or anything so you might not even need put your palm on it let's take a

look at the backside so first off you could see right here it has like a little tunnel and stuff that's for routing you cable so if you have your you have your PC on that side then you could've out your cable through here and then just place it on that side or the other side and get there here or through the middle of your keyboard is straight or if you want you cable to go straight forward it also has some rubber feet so the keyboard one slide and I she's gonna move those up and now we're gonna plug it in before I do that let's just look at the cable it is USB like pretty much all key words and the cable is just it's nothing special just feels like a standard cable which I don't know how will turn up in the long run all right so now we're gonna plug in the

keyboard and see what lighting effects it comes in already and as you can see I'm gonna turn off that light very quickly there it is it's just like a like a wave effect I think and then they just stack up on the side which looks pretty cool oh and then okay okay so the lighting looks pretty nice I'm not gonna lie and then I'll have different angles again to show you guys but there's also light on the side as you could see on my hand right there there's on both sides there's light I

really like the wave effect I mean that's probably my favorite if ad I should probably tell by the mousepad and I don't know if you guys saw the other keyboard the one I I already use I'm also gonna have a sound test later in the video for you guys who want to know what it sounds like I'm sort of changed the brightness you you hold function and you go up or down depending on how bright you want it I'm gonna leave it at full brightness because that it looks the best and it also looks the best on camera obviously so now I'm gonna look at all the different lighting effects it has against again you hold function go right here so that one's the way then it's red I

know that is that reactive feel like it you click yep so if you click a key ed lights up like the spacebar function key JJ I mean hg t and it's not always the same color as you can see which is very nice so in a function again let's click on that one no it's no so now it's cycling through the colors like sort of like a breathing mode but a little bit faster red again it always starts at red

because a rainbow thing so with some fades through the colors it looks very nice that one oh this seems like a wave effect but only with the red I don't know how you could change the color then just you hold it and press it again oh ok so it comes with more defects and you know what's possible so there's a lot more effects if you just press the same button or the same oh can I get it alright so you see how it's blue and then if I do that now it's purple do the same one it changes color and stuff so that's okay this one might be my favorite I don't know what you call this is like a star lighter it kind of reminds me when you get the star in Mario Kart or like any

Mario game you know remember and you're like unstoppable that's what this reminds me of I'm probably gonna leave it at this cuz it looks pretty nice I'm not gonna lie I don't know how it looks on camera on YouTube I mean I could see it here but I'm not sure how it's gonna render it looks very nice I'm trying to have some different angle shots once again you guys are probably looking at those right now alright so now I'm gonna do a typing test on some website or

whatever so you guys could hear the sound and all that stuff and I will tell you guys how I feel about it typing if it's responsive if it if it misses some keystrokes or something like that until you guys in a bit and also tell me comment below if you want to see a giveaway I'm gonna see if I could give this away I'm not sure though I would like to give it away because I think it's the right thing to do just give it back to you guys because I honestly wouldn't be making these videos if it wasn't for you guys so tell me in the comments below if you want me to give this away and all if the response is positive then I will give it away in the next or in the review

anyway let's move on to the sound test I can't type anything you guys could just listen to it but that has been the typing test so far from what I could tell the keyboard feels very responsive it feels well it feels very nice after tested while gaming and all that stuff but I'm gonna have a full review by I think early next week and also you guys all the ups and downs about it but so far everything's been positive it feels it feels nice I think it's mostly I think it's all plastic that it feels nice the quality and everything

Roseville's neon que 85 mechanical RGB gaming keyboard that's not really how they phrased the whole title but it almost is the great thing about this keyboard obviously more than anything else is its set of RGB effects the static you can make it just one standard color if you want it to but breathing is a little bit nicer it I mean rotating through colors and instead ik breathing is this right rotates between things you could also pick it till I do one color streamer is your fancy rainbowy effects I can go left right down rain it goes into dividual II and and actually pretty nice a horse race lamp I don't know why has to be a horse race lamp not a big

deal I'd probably one of the more fun ones so far as the moving colors go twinkling lights it kind of rotates through all the colors on each individual keys reactive is what you would assume whoops it doesn't really work when I'm also in the software so reactive the water-drop has full sections of things the cross I kept this one for quite a while does up and a vertical and

horizontal line the ripple also used this one a lot you can start in two different places the Aurora which duh whoa did it again all right Laura it does lines across heatmap which is fun the more you typed more the entire thing changes colors and then cools back down you can pick what two colors you want and then you can just make a custom section of keys and you can you can change the colors of those individual keys if you wanted to - whatever you wanted you can also do all those same things with hardware control you can rotate through reactive things through full color sets but if you have the software up the software takes priority so things to know about this keyboard it does have kale switches with kale blues and so far as I can tell audibly blues Otomo's Cherry MX it's not a huge deal people say something about quality

being lesson in kales I you know unless I mess with unless i pushing literally 50 million times every key or it deteriorates on me in like three years I can't really tell whether or not that is valid otherwise nothing's broken on me yet it still feels good still sounds good kee still look good some weird things the pound key for instance if I can just pull out of there come on has a kind of difficult looking symbol that is not quite a pound the also at sign looks a little weird yeah the @ sign looks like some sort of you with some things but the keys go in and out pretty nicely nothing breaks the function windows key locks it like any other lock will do the cool thing is that it does light up any of these keys that you do so if you have your insert key or what was it depends on maybe I'm lying I'll cut that anyway the sides light two different things in the way that you change that is this page down button and function all of these symbols are all your

function key related things they're also super hard to sort of figure out unless you keep the manual nearby to figure out what those are because those aren't very straightforward has a nice metal top up here the fun thing is it came with this hinge on the wrist rest here and it would either lie down or if you fold it back underneath it actually levels the whole keyboard and on top of raising it up but it also still has the back feet if you want to make it even higher other than that software is pretty straightforward the software has a customized individual keys to do specific tasks I set up this buttons kind of hard to look at but it's a calculator button and I can set it to lock the computer or any of those normal things disable it or give it like a normal other keyboard function or mouse function or macro multimedia things play pause stop windows shortcuts such as ,cortana closing windows switch windows cut paste you

know normal things or launch program and you can set things to set up your macros i also set up a macro so that whenever i pushed that button back here it would say sweet but you know you can you could basically set up whatever your macros you want it to do you can also in that customization have setups for different profiles which also applies to the lighting and you could also create a button press for setting up a button that switches profiles for you lighting everything the only things different about lighting from hardware control versus software control is picking hex values or RGB values for a specific color that you want or in the case of a horserace you can change the direction and I believe yeah streamer you can change the

direction one nice thing is has this thing that says switch off all lighting when display is off which is really nice and as far as the software goes that's about all because you can I mean you can change the brightness of things and the speed of things which is nice and make individual colors oh one other thing is under custom you can there's some pre-made templates for dota

stuff beacons mmo's Bobo's first-person shooters so they have some pre-made templates or you can save your own and have color setup how for you one you can also just select the color of those particular keys if you want to as well under under custom Oh a few extra thoughts about the keyboard a lot of these symbols like it said before kind of weird I couldn't figure out this there's like a padlock that's supposed to be that thing it kind of just looks like a scarab beetle and this calculator symbol doesn't look like calculator symbols so much is like I gate or something not a big deal you push them you find out the the space up here that's usually just

for indicating whether or not your scroll lock is on scroll lock changes colors or your function lock all all those things that normally this thing like these things light up up here it has been replaced with media keys which is kind of cool if you push them by their by themselves the thing that's lit up here increase volume decrease volume mute and then if you hold function key you can do the ones that are on these logos which is bring up a media player play pause and

stop this thing's kind of interesting even though it's a picture of a camera what it really does is let you color individual keys which doesn't quite make sense I know for some things that some games f11 will do screenshots but having a the picture of a camera is kind of weird so because I I think Steam as f12 I can't remember anyway that's that's neither here nor there the nice thing is unlike the K 51 the all of these things in this area are actually readable page down page up wasn't just PU and PD like I you know if you're good if you're a person that uses these keys

then you know you probably already know what you're looking for but it was really kind of confusing without you know just a few more letters other than that sturdy build pretty heavy it does have a line in the back so you can come out either side of the keyboard when you want to run the cable did have some velcro on it so far as the keys sound still sounds great feels great I don't feel like this is a cheap keyboard at all so the neon ka t5 mechanical RGB gaming

keyboard has an MSRP  so what you'll find is if you look up on Amazon any mechanical keyboards Ultimo scales etc that have RGB you can find some for around the price I feel like that extra twenty bucks is something that you won't get this much control over your RGB with on the level that extra twenty bucks really is doing that Plus this is a still very well made keyboard it's totally worth its price so far as I'm concerned so I'm willing to give rose wills neon K 85 our GB mechanical keyboard pure overclocks Editors Choice Award mostly because in the sub  mechanical keyboard with RGB there aren't any that have this much control over your colors not under$$ now they have some that might if they don't have the number pad which which is important to some people but you know it's not that Rose Wells cheap an out

either I mean they if if you want something that's just Cherry MX which is but doesn't have any color functions there's keyboard for you if you want Cherry MX and you want this even higher quality lighting that's even more subtle between every single key I mean you can you can get that to like they have every range of keyboard so for what they're trying to sell for that mid range I don't want to spend  on something what I still want the prettiest lights I can do this is it so no qualms for me

ROSEWILL Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, RGB Backlit Clicky Computer Mechanical Keyboard  review

the Rose will neon que 85 mechanical gaming keyboard , so the keyboard let's begin with the specs the Rose will neon que 85 is an RGB mechanical gaming keyboard with customizable RGB lighting 100% anti-ghosting and zenki roll over it features blue kale switches and each key can last up to 50 million clicks the keyboard is pretty lightweight it's composed of plastic with an aluminum plate adding some durability and better feel now the wire on the keyboard is not braided which is very common among gaming keyboards so that might be a problem in terms of cable durability in the long run especially if you don't take care of your gaming equipment I have to say the keyboard is comfortable but it does feel a little bit on the cheap side you can sort of see the wrist rest flex a little bit as you push it down on the edges and as you lift the keyboard it feels light which can be good for some but also means that the materials used on it are not the best but we're not talking about some  keyboard for it's good now like I

mentioned earlier the switches are blue kale switches and they make some noise the satisfying click noise of course they're pretty loud but I'm the type of person who enjoys the clicky sound and I think a lot of us gamers enjoy it as well as I remove the key caps you can also see the lighting for each individual key lighting is another aspect of the keyboard that I really like it's very nice and bright and since there's a bit of clear plastic under the key cap the lighting is projected even more making it seem brighter there's also some lighting on the side which is also very attractive and it's a nice touch you don't really see that with many gaming keyboards the change in lighting you just press the function key and there's presets two different keys like that the key labelled I ns the home key the page up key the Delete key the page down key is for the lighting on the sides also the print screen the scroll lock on the pan and the pause key you can see it in the video you can also change the brightness with the function key and the arrow up or down and if you want to make say the streamer effect faster or slower you hold down the

function key and press either left arrow or right arrow respectively you can also change the lighting and other settings in the neo K 85 software in the software you could customize lighting even more setup macro keys and customize the purpose of U key as well you can even set the lighting to match whatever type of game you're playing now for performance I'll that talked about this keyboard but is it any good so far for my testing I've been typing a lot of gaming examining the key capped and so far I have no issues with the keyboards responsiveness the

keys have a 4-millimeter travel distance and that doesn't seem to be slow at all my typing has been good even though I personally make a lot of mistakes and there is any key rollover so if you press multiple keys at the same time like you might doing gaming every key is registered because they are individually read in case you want to know what the keyboard sounds like here's a quick sound test another thing I'm not sure I like is a font and shape of the letters on

the keys I would like a simple professional-looking key and since they're a little bit bolder than other keyboards some keys like the arrow keys and the ones above them look too cramped maybe it's just me but even though something is meant for gaming I don't like it when they look like they're only for gamers this one isn't too bad and I don't even think about it anymore but I thought I'd just say that there's other keyboards like the Razer 2014 Black Widow I think it's

called that had like some crazy font that's what I don't like one thing I forgot to mention is that as you can see right here there are no LED indicators in case caps lock is on the number lock is on the only indicator you get is the actual key so right now as you can see it's changing color if you press it it just turns white and this one as well at the number lock right now this is changing color and if you press it it changes to white so there might be a little bit confusing you

might not be able to notice very well or very quickly if you have caps lock on because there's no LED indicator so just something minor I would rather prefer to have the LED indicators on here but you know it's up to you anyway ,  is this keyboard worth it well it's comfortable it performs great lighting is gorgeous and it has durable keys yeah it's a it's worth it for next time I would like to see a more premium looking and feeling keyboard with a wrist rest that's easily removable and not as flimsy as this one again .
