today we're gonna be reviewing the brand new course their gaming k63 wireless gaming keyboard yes I showed this off for you guys on a first look back at CES but we've had it in the studio but using it for the past two weeks now I'm ready to give you the whole lowdown the

pros and cons all the good stuff in case you're interested in picking up the corsair k63 wireless gaming keyboard so first off down to the basics this keyboard is nice and compact because it's 10 keyless that means you don't have the number pad or anything on the right side it's a much smaller form factor which I like because it's not gonna take up as much room on your desktop on the top left-hand corner we still have dedicated multimedia keys big thumbs up for that next to the Corsair logo you have your LED brightness button and in windows lock key then over on the right side you have volume controls turning it around on the back side is your on and off

switch plus a micro USB slot for charging this thing up then on the back for rubber pads so it doesn't slide on your desktop and then two feet so you can slightly elevate its backside when you're typing your gaming and in terms of build quality very very solid and rugged absolutely zero flex even though the design is primarily plastic nothing shoddy going on here and also inside the box they include a nice rubberized wrist rest for you that attaches easily on the bottom here so to give your wrist some little padding while you're typing or gaming now since this is ten key lists you're gonna be missing out on some of those keys but they make up for in most of your function areas function f knives can let you control the wireless set-up here

whether you want to connect this over like a wireless connection with the wireless receiver or if you want to pair it via bluetooth you can with function f10 holding down f11 is gonna give you a little wireless indicator which is gonna be right above that you'll see a little power button the LED that's gonna tell you whether it's you know fully charge the batteries starting to die or it's pretty much dead next up let's talk about what's going on under the key caps and here you'll notice you have this kind of blue backplate underneath all the keys because the LED lights that are in keyboard are blue yes only blue no RGB in these models and having that blue backplates gonna help kind of accentuate the color in the lights so it appears brighter and more saturated and let me tell you it definitely does because at nighttime these things glow really really bright

and they have a pretty good amount of effects you know usually what a keyboard just has one color they don't give you the full option to picking different effects uses just like breathing or you know fading in and out but here you still have the typical coarse hair effects that you see it in other keyboards and then to a very important thing is the key switches in this model it is cherry MX red and there as of now only selling red I assume or it's going to be available especially this thing sells really well down the line but now we only have red in these and they're your typical gaming switch because they're linear a lot quieter than blues and I'm pretty sure last time I checked a few months ago rads were still like the the most top-selling switches you

can get in a keyboard so I've showed them off before but I know you all want to hear I'll do a sound test now so you could hear how these red switches sound in the k63 Wireless now before we move this along this keyboard also features 128-bit AES encryption which is gonna help protect your keystrokes from say someone who's trying to like hack into your computer and they could read that wireless data I guess going on from what you're typing in so for example some wireless keyboards I set the ball to someone hacking the information so you type in like your password a lot they could read that info but with this 128-bit AES encryption it protects

that I honestly you don't know a lot about it it is a feature I'm just telling you guys what they told me pretty much that's cool if you need something like that so now I'm moving on they're also selling this keyboard with the k63 Wireless lap board it's an essentially gonna give you a really cool solution to something like wireless gaming in the living room you have nice rubber padding on the back side so when you have it on your lap it's not gonna like you know feel heavy or anything and also has a built-in wrist rest they built-in mouse pad the cell made to go in unison together with their wireless ecosystem just a few days ago I reviewed their course they're a wireless dark core RGB mouse so obviously with this k63 Wireless you plug it into the

lap board use the wireless mouse on the built-in mousepad and you now have this whole in-house wireless solution for you and there's no tools needed you just snap the keyboard into place there's just little like clips on the back that locked the keyboard in and it's nice and secure may also include four sets of extra clips in case they you know fall off or break you they include two sets for the front of the keyboard where the wrist rest is and two extra clips for the backside then once it's snapped into place it's locked in you can turn it upside down shake it all that good stuff those little clips definitely do its job and like I said if you're looking for

something like this where you need wireless gaming whether it's like in the living room setup or something like that and you want that you know that reliable one millisecond response time for online FPS or whatever you're doing a duo like this and even with the the dark core RGB Mouse having a great wireless setup is gonna go hand-in-hand with something like this unintentional horrible pun or you just say that you're fine when you're not really funny and

after my time using this I've had zero issues I've constantly had it plugged in with a wireless receiver which is a 2.4 gigahertz connection with a 1 millisecond response time and you know just as important as a wireless mouse is for keep before your online gaming keyboards gonna be just as important as well because you're constantly putting in these keystrokes they need to

register the second you press them in and sometimes with peripherals in the past that we're wireless there will be sort of some sort of delay where it could interfere with your online gaming but with this zero issues in fact the other day when I was gaming I played to pub G games in a row won them both back to back and I was also using the dark core wireless mouse so I was like alright I guess I guess it's legit it's supposed to be so I think it's really solid keyboard and battery life I almost forgot they say 15 hours so like three days if your gaming five hours at a time not too bad for a wireless keyboard you can always plug it in while it's charging to use it wired you know I love the media keys you still get the lighting effects really not too much to

complain about so honestly I'm pretty impressed with the little duo here I mean it's nothing you know revolutionary or groundbreaking but it just works it does what it's supposed to and that's it's rugged its reliable and I'm a big fan of that even with the k63 the lap board here you get for an extra 50 bucks like I said if you need something like this for what like 160 total you now have that whole living room set up solution for you so really really great stuff here from Corsair like so just just the little things like having the little clips replaceable and stuff like that for the lap board it's all good in the end the only con I'm gonna mention for this review and it's such a stupid con that I'm really feeling stupid for even saying it is the lack of RGB in this keyboard

because I know the comments section is gonna be crazy about the RGB you can only get the k63 in the blue that I have here or in ice blue LED variant which I mean is an odd switch up if you mean they're both blue at the end of the day it's just you can get a lighter ice blue I don't know I think they should have had either all RGB or do what they did with the older vengence keyboards like have blue LED lights for blue switches and red for the red switches but uh right now only Red's available so I don't know just one of the photos to cents out there in the end like
I said great stuff definitely a big thumbs up for me

Corsair K63 Wireless Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, Backlit Blue LED review

the course air k63 okay so many of you guys know I love wireless devices I purchased a few keyboards I've used a mechanical keyboard the red dragon which is the budget-friendly one I've also had the cords or k55 which I've been using here for the last I say six months so anyways CES 2018 a lot of youtubers went out there and a lot of them uncovered something that really fascinated me and that was a Corsair k63 this is the wireless gaming keyboard okay so bought this keyboard I'm doing some key features it has the Cherry MX switches you can

use the included USB dongle that gives you 2.4 wireless signal or you can use the reported ultra-low latency Bluetooth and I believe that's 4.0 or higher it has dedicated value and multimedia controls 100% anti-ghosting with full key rollover it's supposed to have strong 128-bit AES encryption the one I got is it has the blue LED backlight and the the cores are utility app that you can download and a computer and use it has really cool effects and like ripple effect visor has a per keystroke ripple which i think is really really cool it has like a matrix kind of codecs which I love now I love the compact size on this the size on this sells me right away because I

like to have my workspace just nice and neat that's one little thing a lot about it being Wireless but also compact I like to save much room as possible for other things and this right here takes the cake fork because the with the k55 it does come with a number keypad so it's a little larger but I just love the way it's very sturdy to it I love the way that this is built it's really nice because I love the mechanical switch sounds but there's also a nice feature to where I was having another if it's feature there's something I came across and I like and it's the fact that you don't have to press all the way down for it you know for it to respond so you can go really softly and you hear nothing it's nice if I can the slightly touch down in the key stroke and then

you don't hear anything but it still responds really nicely and I don't know it's just those little it's this little piggys that does keep me going your ass I don't know that I'm a child come on so again cores are designed this to be completely wireless and they also revealed the gaming Lapworth for this which if I did it reviewed not too long ago I think was last year other razor torrent which is designed to use a keyboard and mouse at your living room and I found it convenient especially if you have a hook PC hooked up to your TV and you want to play this on the couch or if you have a long hdmi cord that takes you to you that's close by your

computation whatever the regardless regard to whatever it is and you want to do some PC gaming on your couch they have a lap board as well now I am gonna get my hands on that as well so that I can compare that to my torrent but I don't play too much PC games on my couch to justify having the entire piece but I might still try it out anyways so cores are designed this to have 14 hour battery life if you have the LEDs on now behind the LEDs aw it's 75 hours now me I actually found that it did last just shy of 14 hours but it did last I haven't tried the 25 hour mark yet but I'm interested to see if it does I just like to have my LEDs out that's why I haven't really prolonged all the way over 75 hours so but it's good to know that if I need to have that

pure charge without hooking up to anything it's there now it does have a micro USB charger to it I have tons of these but you can also use this as a corded keyboard if the battery runs out as well so you'd have to worry about waiting for the charge before you use it again that's another convenient thing too so my over experience ok I gotta see this I freaking love it absolutely I love the keystrokes on it I love the way it sounds a little the fact that when someone's sleeping or I'm gonna wake up anybody want to bother anybody I can still slightly hit that keyboard it is still responds without hearing anything why not keep referring to that I don't know but I love it I love that you can hook it up still in the u.s. speedin have it as corded and the battery dies and

freakin love that it is Wireless I love the lighting effects now this is one of those things that yes it's not RGB but I prefer blue LED anyways and I just love the lighting effect that comes with it one of the quirks that I did find however is using the 2.4 USB dongle when my computer went to sleep sometimes my Q Porter wouldn't wake up I had to pull the dongle out and put it back in for it to rec be recognized again to happen about three or four times did it happen every time but it did happen but it didn't happen like that with bluetooth so I would say for the price of it I mean Corsairs for me is a really good high-quality brand I I love the keyboard I would pay that amount I would recommend it to somebody who's looking for a wireless gaming

keyboard and you wouldn't you would not be disappointed if you have tons of keyboard you will feel like this will replace it if you are a fan of the but the keypads on the side of course you may not want it you may want steer away from this so if you get the lab board is really geared towards the PC gamers that's game on the couch but I see way more pros and cons on this and  I would say that yes I mean I I feel that it's it's worth an investment if you really wanted wireless gaming keyboard with Cherry MX switches it's just that that that plain easy I would recommend it I mind I'm thinking about this I'm this enthusiastic about a keyboard I just I love it it just is something that you use all the time so why not be enthusiastic about it between a keyboard your mouse and your monitor you should be very excited about the thing that you use

on a daily basis with your PC now in terms of sounds and the switches I do want to compare this with the k55 in the red dragon okay so I am gonna give you a quick sound test of the cores are k63 Wireless and what it sounds like I'm gonna trigger this close to my mic as possible and they compare it to this K 55 as well as the red dragon the case is u3 and I was talking about like when you get slightly touches so you don't hear anything much that's really good alright the k55 tough I tried to do it really softly now this is a red dragon with the red LEDs this was a good favorite of mine until I realized it was just too freaking loud you were trying to game live with pub G or something and he's streaming it and you're using a keyboard like this and it sounds so awesome how about this it's like therapy so yeah I love the way that sounds it's just -

it's so so freaking loud but this is still a very this is a budget-friendly key over here I got this for this online I'll leave a link to this below if you want something like this so I'll get my overall a thoughts about the wireless k63 gaming keyboard from Corsair is I would say buy it if you have the funds for it replace the keyboard rehab now unless of course you have something that you'd actually just love wireless isn't that important to you there it is but for me Wireless I just love no cords and the fact that I could take it with me if I wanted to have a go and not worry about cords I just I just like a clean desk and for me that's my selling point for it

something I'm sure a lot of you guys were expecting this year a wireless mechanical keyboard and today we're tackling Corsairs first product in that category so meet the k63 wireless that's priced around a hundred and ten dollars now to be clear this isn't the world's first mechanical keyboard there are plenty of them out there but the k63 wireless features a few unique characteristics that might attract gamers who are looking for something a little bit different from their traditional full-sized gaming keyboard so let's take a closer look at this guy right after message from our sponsor hi I'm looking for a case well look no further I got this beauty

the H 700 I buy NZXT with all steel premium frame with a side of tempered glass - beautifully showcase any cooling adventure you might pursue and cable management system that you wish you had earlier all this lit up with integrated RGB lighting and built-in fan control the Aged 700 I this one's for you oh I'll take it okay so the first thing to discuss here is the wireless convenience we first started seeing this trend in gaming headsets and gaming mice and it was just a matter of time to hit gaming keyboards the k63 Wireless can be used in three different modes the first one will obviously be through wired mode or you can use the ultra fast one

millisecond 2.4 gigahertz Wireless saying and Corsair has included a dedicated receiver that users can plug into their PC it's very low-profile although I wish Corsair included a compartment within the keyboard to store the receiver because this could be easily misplaced if you decide to travel with the keyboard lastly you can also connect the keyboard to an Android or iOS device via the built-in low latency Bluetooth 4.2 protocol you can also connect the keyboard to a computer via bluetooth but you can't use coarse hairs cue software to customize it macros and lighting and as much as this might sound ridiculous you can actually pair this up with an iPad and start using it at a coffee shop or when traveling it's a welcoming addition in

my opinion but I'd love to hear your thoughts about Bluetooth implementation on a gaming mechanical keyboard I mean do you see yourself pairing this up with a smart phone or a if you're into mobile gaming or you know if you just want to get work done let me know switching between 2.4 gigahertz and Bluetooth is very simple Coursera is implemented those buttons within the function keys and they're very quick at that so that's awesome speaking of buttons let's quickly go over the layout of the k63 wireless so if you recall the original wired k63 from corsair that retails for about  this should feel like home the wireless version sports the exact same 10 keyless layout you've got dedicated media playback buttons on both the top left and

right hand sides along with brightness adjust in three step intervals including the option to turn it off a windows lock key and 4 LED indicators one for power one for 2.4 gigahertz and Bluetooth and the colors on that do change depending on which mode you're in same goes for the power LED if you're running on low battery the LED turns to red the last few LEDs are for caps-lock and firmware updates so pretty straightforward there are no dedicated macro buttons unlike what you'd find on Corsairs much expensive key 95 series and that makes sense because this is 80 Cal keyboard in the first place but the rest the keys can be programmed through Corsairs q software and we'll talk about that shortly the build quality of this keyboard is really good the chassis is mostly made out of hard plastic materials and the structural

integrity is top-notch and no complaints in that department there are two variants for this model one comes with the normal dark blue LED backlighting and another special edition that comes with ice blue backlighting yet they cost exactly the same I'm not really sure where Corsair selling the exact same keyboard in two different LED backlighting but it is what it is and for those of you who are invested in other RGB peripherals you might be disappointed with the case 63 Wireless because it lacks that feature that being said the backlighting on this keyboard is very bright and consistent across keys so there's no gradient whatsoever and part of this luminosity has to do with the blue coating underneath the keys I do note that it might

look odd with the backlighting turned off on a personal note I feel like the LEDs were a little bit too harsh than normal because I'm more used to the subtle lighting than it's found on something like the G Pro with just the letters lit up instead of the whole backplate but that's just me so I'd love to hear your thoughts on that in the comment given that Corsairs approaching the unplug in plain mantra they've also decided to launch the case 60t wireless gaming lap board to target users who might want to expand their gaming experience to their living room seamlessly without having to invest on specific peripheral setups and this is a brilliant execution in my opinion unlike the lab dog which was a little bit on the bulkier side and if obviously it was also a lot more expensive so say for instance you want to continue your

gaming session from your desktop to your living room you basically grab the k63 Wireless along with the USB receiver and your wireless gaming mouse I suppose I'll hook it up to your HTPC and then you know carefully slide the front end of the keyboard into the cradle of the lab board and use the built-in retention hooks to secure the keyboard into place upon completion you can sit back on your comfy couch and enjoy the rest of the gameplay I do appreciate Corsair for including a cloth type mousepad with the lab board as that's my personal favorite but yours mine very the memory foam underneath the lab board features plenty of cushions so from a comfort standpoint you're really not being compromised although I will warn you if you're planning on gaming on it for longer hours the heat buildup might start to irritate you at

some point of course they are selling the lab board for about sixty dollars but remember it is an additional investment on top of the hundred ten dollars that you'll be spending on the case 63 Wireless so it all comes down to your use case scenario are you just looking for a wireless mechanical keyboard or a hybrid solution that can adapt into any environment think about that before pulling the trigger I should also mention the Corsair is selling a combo kit so you get the case 63 as well as the lab board for a hundred and sixty dollars so that's  cheaper then purchasing them separately coming back to the case 63 Wireless there are a few more

accessories including the box let me start with a detachable wrist rest that simply clicks onto the keyboard the rubberized textured material provides a good amount of grip and throughout my testing period I didn't run into any discomfort issues Corsair also includes a one point eight metre micro USB cable to charge the unit I wished if it was Type C because it's 2018 you also get a mini USB to type a female adapter this can be used to extend the wireless connection but throughout my tests it wasn't necessary given that this is a wireless keyboard you may be

wondering about battery life it's actually pretty good so of course their claims that you can get up to 15 hours of use with the included LEDs set to 100% if you tone that down to 50% you will get an additional 10 hours and if you want to completely turn off the LEDs expect at least 3 days worth of use I left the LEDs at their brightest setting and upon mixed usage between my PC and my iPad I was able to get roughly a day and a half of use and again this was not me completely using it you know 24 by 7 I was just coming in what from my regular work day I'm getting work done doing a little bit of gaming here and there and that was it unfortunately coursers cue software doesn't give you a visual indication on battery status unless you get into

the advanced settings which once again is if no use because it only cycles between high and low mode it honestly doesn't make any sense because Logitech does a much better job with their gaming software and their wireless peripherals for instance I have my G 403 hooked up to my main pc and the logitech gaming software has a separate tab for battery and it shows the exact percentage on how much juice you have on the mouse so if I'm running low I can always plug it in and it's a good way to estimate how long your devices can run in Wireless mode but that's not the case with the KCC T wireless there is no way to visually see how much percent you have remaining on this keyboard but I hope they'll fix that with a software update hopefully or maybe the next revision let's talk about switches on the k63 wireless they're the standard

Cherry MX red types so nothing custom-made which I respect after all it is the most popular switch type out there and it's the only offering on this keyboard honestly after using it for about a week or so it was refreshing to try these out again after switching between multiple keyboards over the past few years my daily driver the Logitech G Pro features the roamer G switches which took me a while to get used to since they're very lighter and a bit faster the MX Reds provides good balance between actuations and tactile feedback it only requires 45 grams of force to register press and actuations takes place at two millimeters so it's not the fastest when compared to MX speed or the Oromo G both actuate at one point two and 1.5 millimeters respectively in real-world use you're not going to notice a huge difference when typing or even

gaming because all you need is a keyboard that's quick to respond to creep and anti-ghosting so you're not getting screwed over during a gameplay session while switching weapons thankfully the one millisecond response time with the wireless connection was strong and reliable and it really did feel like gaming on a wired keyboard which is great the wireless range was also excellent you shouldn't have any issues gaming with this keyboard in your living room but if you do depending on the size of the space the included adapter for extension can come in handy Corsairs cue software definitely needs a lot of work I feel like previous generation software's

were a lot better than what's available right now because it looks like navigating through it is backwards then what used to be very intuitive anyway so the user is greeted with a physical layout of the keyboard and if you want to assign macros you can head over to the actions tab and then assign macros to any individual key on the keyboard if you want to adjust lighting effects you can head over to the lighting tab and cycle between different effects so there's static visor rein pulse there's also ripple effect and you can adjust the direction and the speed so that's convenient last but not least there is the performance tab that allows you to disable certain

functions when you press the windows lock button so in conclusion the k63 wireless nails a lot of things that people were looking for any wireless mechanical keyboard for one it's ultra fast one millisecond response time is really good if you're gaming on it you're really not gonna notice a difference when you're gaming it with a wired keyboard it really is pretty fast the Bluetooth functionality is definitely an awesome feature I see myself of taking advantage of this when I'm taking notes on my iPad if I want it because you're typing from a mechanical keyboard it's it's so much better it's really hard for me to go back to a traditional low profile membrane keyboard that's just that's just a way how it is I love the tkl form factor this keyboard is nice and compact it should fit within any setup and of course it's also a lot better

and a lot convenient to travel with Corsair might come up with a full sized keyboard I'm not really sure when but it is a possibility the lack of RGB lighting might be a deal-breaker for some of you out there because you might have invested in peripherals or other peripherals that feature that lighting and but maybe the blue lighting wouldn't really complement your setup so that is something to take in mind if you're considering a wireless gaming keyboard the battery life is not the greatest but it is respectable for my usage you know just using it on my PC and pairing with my iPad I was able to get a day and a half worth of use but that again is

inconvenient to me because I have to constantly you know charge it every once in two days and the last thing I want to talk about is a lap board because I feel like that is a pretty interesting addition that complements the KCT Wireless if you're looking to build yourself a pretty cool living room gaming setup and if you're really aiming for that cord-free gaming experience so you want to have yourself a gaming keyboard that's wireless a gaming mouse that's also wireless and a gaming headset that's Wireless I feel like that's again once again it all ties down to the convenience factor if you want a complete wireless setup I think Corsairs offering that with the addition of the lap board and if you think about it the premium difference between the k60 Wireless and the wired version is only # so it's not that huge and  I feel like there's a

lot of value with the KCC 3 Wireless especially since it's a mechanical keyboard it is something that you really can't find with other brands at least as I'm making this review so I'd love to hear your thoughts on the KCC Wireless supports price point and of course the features that it offers do you see yourself switching from your traditional full-size gaming keyboards or something like this let me know in the comments down below.
