the days of Logitech rehashing the g15 slightly with every new gaming keyboard are over their last flagship refresh the g7 10 plus was a huge departure from the usual and was their first mechanical gaming keyboard featuring Cherry MX switches and the g9 10 the one we'll be looking at today is a mechanical keyboard but instead of going with the industry standard Cherry MX or can't get enough allocation of cherry standard kyla they've worked with Omron on a new exclusive switch type Romer G mechanical switches want to know if the g9 10 will take your gaming to the next level watch on and oh yeah we've got our BenQ 24-inch XL 24 20 G hybrid engine g-sync gaming monitor review coming soon lots of gaming stuff coming soon but for now the intro from December 13th to 20th 2014 you can save on select Intel CPU Schnucks and SSDs with special holiday rebates from select retailers click now to learn more physical

tour time this keyboard has everything a 140 layout with full anti-ghosting nine extra macro ready programmable G keys on the left and top of the WASD gaming area each of which can toggle between three different layers of functionality per profile a USB to cord with rugged strain protection media control keys in the top right including a rubberized volume wheel nice touch logitech gaming mode to disable the windows Keys backlight toggle not one but two included wrist rests wonderful rubberized angle adjusters on the bottom a freaking dock for your phone to sit in so you can like see in your peripheral vision while you're gaming and full RGB LED backlighting on each key so that you can see that while you're gaming as well so let's start with the switches shall we what a roamer G switches exactly well they were created in partnership with Omron so you can bet some science went into the development they feature a

70 million keystroke endurance rating a one-upmanship fu to Razer sixty million if I I saw one they require 45 grams of four similar to Cherry MX Reds which are very popular among gamers they actuate after only 1.5 millimeters of travel compared to Cherry MX is 2 millimeters they have a wider base for theoretically less key wobble although I found them comparable to a cherry MX keyboard with decent key caps on it and they were made with backlighting in mind featuring a surface mounted RGB LED at the bottom for better reliability compared to key switch mounted LEDs and a light tube down the center of the switch for more even lighting and less spillover around the keys compared to Cherry's RGB design found on the k70 RGB okay line it's enough reading off logitech sight what do you think truthfully it took me a while to decide they're just so different from anything that I've used before like rubber domes as you apply pressure they hold hold hold hold them seem to collapse with a bit of a mushy

feeling but tactile sensation but unlike rubber domes they don't need to be bottom doubt to register a keystroke making this one of the most responsive keyboards I have ever used and not just for gaming typing - so while hardcore Cherry MX enthusiasts myself included might not find the experience that satisfying especially if you like that crisp sound of MX blues or greens the performance is undeniable and for the majority of gamers out there who are still using rubber domes Logitech and Omron have successfully engineered a much better upgrade that will still feel comfortable and familiar so I consider the g9 tens Romer G key switches a smashing success it's just too bad that Logitech paired them with the worst key caps I've ever used in my life the very worst like not just oh I guess they could tweak this and optimize that to make it better next time but like Logitech scrap these Logitech calls these performance facet key caps and instead of being gently curved to embrace your fingers as they press down on

them they have this harsh angular shape to them that makes about much sense to me as a shirt made out of square folded cardboard the idea is that they keep your fingers centered on the keys and also improve performance when they're struck on the edge this is meant to be beneficial for extremely high APM gaming but even though based on programmer feedback they've supposedly reduced the height of the ridges once already I just found myself getting caught on them when moving quickly between keys so they actually slow me down unless I take a higher less efficient path between keys and then to make matters worse they aren't even all the same making it really hard to get used to them the printing on the arrow keys and WASD I guess is designed to help you feel your way back without looking but it just feels weird on the fingers then the gaming half of the keyboard so the left gets three angled grooves while

everything else gets too and when I say everything I mean not everything because some random stuff like the left cap shift and control are mostly flat and the windows key is convex what on earth were they thinking and then the supreme deal-breaker here is that because these aren't cherry MX keys which is the stems are not compatible so you'll good luck finding sensible replacements if you otherwise really like the g9 10 what a shame because there's stuff I really like about it I see a Logitech getting flack about the arcs dock but as an original g15 user who isn't trying to cram a tablet or a phablet into it it's a welcome addition for me the app does still need some work like I'm not sure who derped and put the tabs which are at the bottom where it's almost impossible to reach without mashing your f keys but you can switch profiles monitor some rudimentary system info and use your phone as a media remote and more importantly you can see notifications on your phone as they come in without paying like 20 bucks for a
phone stand so Rock'em Logitech and while we're on the subject of rock and stuff aside from the media and profile keys being stuck orange and blue for some reason the RGB backlighting looks great on this keyboard even the stylized keys I'm the ones with words printed on them are really evenly lit and Logitech software is easier to use than Corsairs and includes a grater for of lighting effects then razors did the last time I looked at it there's breathing with speed control a twinkling star effect with customizable colors a full spectrum color cycle with speed control configurable color waves that go horizontal top-down or out from the center with speed control and a two color reactive typing mode with speed control there's also a mode that shows the active game keys while gaming depending on your profile another that allows you to set up different zones with different colors and finally freestyle mode which lets you set every K a different color if you desire they've still got some work to do here other than setting a dimmer version of a color or turning the key of the backlight off entirely with a button there's no

brightness control you can't save and recall favorite freestyle designs without manually recreating them and lighting can't change on a per profile basis but it's a very decent starting point they've got time to fix those things and that's what I think the G 910 is it's a starting point for Roemer G switches which I think have a very bright future once they're surrounded by a keyboard that isn't let down by other poor design choices which reminds me I haven't even talked about the wrist rest yet Logitech includes two wrist rests in the box but instead of having like a stylized gamer one with a nice wide resting area on for the left hand and then nothing for the right and then a symmetrical one since most of the gamers I know also type from time to time and it's nice to have both wrists on the wrist rest they include two different size gamer ones I yeah speaking of different sizes are you sick of having to select a specific size for your phone plan before you know how much you're actually going to use if so you might want to

check out ting a mobile service provider in the US that has a great December promo going on right now so from now until January 5th if you break your other contract to switch to ting they will cover 50% of your fee by giving you up to one hundred and fifty bucks per device in service credit this is double their normal offer to cover 25% of your fee now considering that their average monthly bill per device is $26 that could be a pretty darn significant savings for you and if you use our referral that's Linus ENCOM you can actually get another $25 in service credit or $25 towards a new device so checkout ting and try out their savings calculator because you don't have to commit to switch until you've already determined that you'll save money you enter your last three bills it spits out how much you would be paying on ting and as long as you've got good sprint service in your area that's the network they're running on then you'll be having well good cell service and you'll be paying less for it

the logitech c910 orion spark and fully mechanical RGB gaming keyboard so let's get directly started if I was using the Logitech G 504 a very long time and a fault it's time for an upgrade so I've got myself here the logitech c910 the Orion spark and it's Logitech first RGB mechanical keyboard and it looks nothing like the Past keyboard so it looks quite futuristic but pretty cool in my opinion now let's a look at the gaming keyboard features it comes with exclusive remedy metal keys with up to 25% fast activation like you just have to press them down around 1.25 millimeters and then they already trigger I think in my opinion so from the feeling they come very close to the brown Sharia Max key so just from the feeling when I type with it of play then there are nine individually customizable G keys also individual key lighting with multicolor backlight so you can pick a color out of sixteen point eight million colors there's also mobile

application for your smartphone so it comes with some kind of smartphone dock and you can control the keyboard with an application from a smartphone and I think that's a pretty cool feature so everyone has a smartphone everyone wants to have another desk so why not use the dock and control your keyboard now the switches I have to say yeah if you don't share your max fanboy you will actually also love I think the Roma Chi switches now Logitech claims that the key switch durability 70 million clicks and that's really a lot I think more than on the share MX switches but honestly have to say who cares about the lifespan so you will have a really long lifetime of the keyboard it's a Logitech product and it's a mechanical keyboard so you can use it for years I will do the chop so now let me quickly show you what you can find inside the box so the logitech c910 retails currently for around two hundred euro in my area and i have to say the price yeah it's a bit pricey but the feeling and the look it's so premium just have a look at the

box you can see here the Chi logo in there the first impression was just like Oh my god it looks absolutely stunning then here you can see the keyboard so well it also comes with an user manual slash set-up guide or whatever and yeah it comes with those plastic things and they're
actually exchangeable hand rests so this one here which you can see here um it's the bigger one now some of my friends liked this a little bit more for playing shooters I honestly have to say I play with the smaller one it feels just more comfortable because the keyboard is already very big and having that big hand rest here just makes it a little bit too big for me but some people say for shooters we have to have your hand all the time on WASD it feels more comfortable but it really comes down to personal preference well guys there we go let me show you the keyboard here from the top side so actually how it feels to use it and what you can see here now probably you can already see the color scheme and it looks so damn great and also the backlight is very

strong so you can also see it when the lights are really strong to see like the studio lights not very sure if I can catch this on camera but have to say it looks outstanding as you can see I'm now using the rainbow effect so it's basically like a wave coming from the left to the right side changes here for all the colors you have here for instance also the gene 910 logo which also lights up in different colors so the only thing which has no customizable back lights actually the buttons here in the left top corner so the m' buttons we have M 1 M 2 M 3 and M R and now let's up in red and all the Ln button still light up just an orange also here the Chi logo as you can see it's multicolored so let's talk about some the buttons here um so it's normal keyboard we have the German keyboard layout because I'm based in Austria on the left side we have G buttons from 1 to 5 so I'm vertical and horizontal from g 6 to g 9 here at the top side now also there are other cool things which i want to mention and this is the the dock release so here that's the ark stock and you can basically put in here smartphone so i can quickly show you

that you just have to release the dock put in your smartphone with the application running then close the dock and there you go I can now see here for instance on the CPU usage of my notebook GPU usage ram usage and also trigger the things which i want to show a bit later for sure it has numb LOGCAP slog and all that and we have here and gaming button which deactivates the windows buttons we have here the EM lighting button so for the backlight you can switch it off if you want to so if it's not needed then here we have a mute button on the right side this is very useful if you want to mute the audio so if you're watching something which other people shouldn't see and the earliest coming on just it to the button and it's muted here we have in volume slide and this is the coolest thing ever to rubberized and it feels just like a mixer so you feel a bit like DJ turning up the volume on your keyboard absolutely cool for sure we have the old media buttons play pause back and forth so that are all the buttons here and the usual stuff like scroll log caps lock and unlock now let's talk about how it feels to actually use the keyboard so yeah I'm now using the keyboard for around a month and I was playing a

lot of games so from minecraft over to Remo succeed GTA 5 Counter Strike global Offensive and I'm very happy of the keyboard so it's very responsive and it's probably the fastest responsive keyboard I've ever had so if you just gently tap a button it goes down like a millimeter and then like collapses but then you already have pressed a button so you just have to press it down only one point two five millimeters and it's pressed so on shariah max which is I think it's two millimeters now I don't notice such a huge difference but probably some hardcore gamers will notice it now there are people complaining about the key caps now there's some yeah some really actually feelable sharp edges here and some people say it prevents you from sliding to the other keys honestly I have to say I don't feel so so for me it feels really ok but Logitech M has some cylindrical keypad a key cap sorry and you have to buy them extra think so because a lot of people complained about it now the spacebar here has probably the biggest edges also here the old key and yeah something which looks really strange is actually the

windows button because it's like like curved or convex but all the other buttons have here those edges to keep your fingers in on the buttons actually in the middle of the buttons some people they hate I actually don't really care about that so for me it feels okay but there are also different keys so you can actually order them bad thing it doesn't ship with the other keys and to replace them actually all you have to do is just peel off the keys like this you can easily clean the keyboard and you can easily change the keys and also if you have a look at the switches here so the buttons then you can see this looks absolutely stunning just check out here how fast the backlight changes and how beautiful it looks so the keyboard is not only responsive it also has the most beautiful backlight I've ever seen on a keyboard this is absolutely stunning now regarding the sound of the button so it doesn't sound so much like a mechanical keyboard so the sound is actually not so strong if I can say like that's not so loud if I type here just listen you should definitely hear it but I had some other mechanical keyboards and they were way louder than this one here I better have to say the feeling if you press the buttons is absolutely great and also the buttons they are very durable as I've shown you before but that's not everything so also

the kale and everything has a very good design now let me show you the backside now this is the back side of the 910 and you can already see the screens like quality so here we have the stands which you can just flip out here like this and they also have rubberized padding on the inside we have fin rubberized pattern middle of smaller one here one for the docks if you slide the dock you should actually lift it off if it's on on the desk without the stands because otherwise yeah you won't get it out so easily and here we also have rubberized stands here and here so you have a very good stand the keyboard is not sliding around on any surface and during hard gaming scene so I don't know in counter-strike I really and press my keyboard a lot and yeah the keyboard doesn't move a single millimeter we have here the Chi 9 10 serial number and everything and yeah that's um the keyboard here from the bottom side as you can see also here the backlight comes through it and I have to say looks very well built now let's talk about connectivity so you just connected like any normal keyboard to a computer with an USB connector the USB connector it's not gold-plated notes of their expensive keyboard and a go plated USB connecter at least something which looks like that would be bad in my opinion but well who cares about that it's nice quality and the durability is good you can see here a strain

relief and that one he has a really massive so probably one of the best strain reliefs I've seen because really big as you can see cable comes really straight here out of the keyboard and the cable length it's 1.8 meters so 6 feet so definitely enough for me standard cable length and very good strain relief alright guys so now here on the computer I just want to quickly show you the Logitech Gaming software and what he can do with it so as you can see the keyboard is flashing with a lot of different colors so we want to change that and also want to show you how to configure macros and what you can do with them so we're now here in the gaming software the download link is on Logitech so on the official website and the application is very good in my opinion so let's have a look at all that first of all when you connected you have to install the drivers and then you will see your keyboard here in the application if you have more Logitech devices it's actually quite useful to get all the mouse because then you can adjust the same thing here in the application now first of all we're here on the startup page so here home and what you will have here is your keyboard and here all the cheap buttons as I've told you you have

nine cheaper than some nine programmable buttons and um as you can see I'm in the left top corner here we have M 1 M 2 & 3 and TMR so you can actually switch it between three different modes and each mode lets you yet just enter here 9 G buttons that means you can have up to 27 macro buttons so 27 G buttons so what can you do with them let me quickly show you that so you can assign really cool things to them all you have to do is just highlight any of the three buttons you want to assign anything to make sure you're in the correct category and then you right-click the button and you go to assign new command you can also edit the command you can use in generic command or you can unassign the key if you don't want to use it at all now first of all we're going to assign a new command for instance you can add here you can edit your keystrokes like if you want to type anything and you just hit that one button and the keystroke will be typed automatically and we also have your multi key so for instance one button presses multiple we can start your recording just yet type anything on the keyboard so do it quickly right now as you can see it records all that here in the application you can stop
recording and if you press the G button then it will actually just type all that in the chat or whatever or maybe just in the game you have text blocks so for instance if you want to spam a message pretty cool actually then you just enter your message name and you can also have a delay between the characters like it looks like you would be typing and yeah they're even MMORPGs where they can do cool stuff of those macros okay next thing we have your mouse functions so you can actually do Mouse stuff with your keyboard that's pretty cool you can left-click with a button you can right click back forward scroll up scroll down for instance four pages the Sol's are kind of useful sometimes it's a really cool stuff you can rebind the media buttons like if you want to have them on the cheap buttons you can assign hotkeys like close the window Alt + f4 so the sometimes sucks to do it but you can do it with one button you can actually just assign programs to the three buttons like you press the button and opens up the program very useful for programs you use very often different functions calculate the media player nothing too special and also for instance Ventrilo commands or voice commands okay so that's how you use the Chi button so nothing too fancy we already know that from all the

Logitech Keyboard but let's continue here and let's have a look here at this mode and if you have a closer look at this then this here are the game mode settings so for instance if you activate game mode by pressing the button on the keyboard you will actually end the game mode and you can see there are some buttons greyed out like you don't want to use the windows button in game mode because if you accidentally press it you will be kicked out of the game so you can also deactivate other buttons like for instance you don't want to use those buttons because there's something bad in the game just deactivate them for game mode that's pretty cool now let's go here to lightning modes so here we have really really cool stuff and first of all we have here this epileptic color scheme which I want to change right now what I will do is I will switch here for instance to static backlight you can just pick a color from the RGB color changer and yeah you can assign it to the keys for instance just have a look at the screen so the H screen is now in green then you can have for instance here something in red so you can make your own layout and this is absolutely cool you can even type something here like yeah I know we are W whatever you want to you can do really cool stuff and customize your keyboard for sure you can also just highlight several areas like half of the keyboard should be pink for

Logitech G910 Orion Spark RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard review

instance and yeah you can also use different modes E and that's pretty cool so that's freestyle which is totally customizable every single button except of the M buttons and the media buttons here at the top next thing of sounds like you can have you for instance this zone here highlighted in yeah and oranged and those buttons here in green and just in like a freestyle mode here with different RGB colors and also here different lighting zones so the cheeki is only WASD then here we have command key so basically here shows active game keys while playing a game and here last but least we have the cool stuff you guys were waiting for all those rainbow effects everybody likes now let's make this a little bit slower because really gets your cancer you really get sick from that ok so color cycle and there we go so here we have fixed color first of all if you just want to have static back lights then you have briefing so it's actually just slowly fading out the colors then the colors are coming back and they're slower that's very very slow and there's also pretty fast so it's like Bam Bam Bam then we have for instance the star effect that's pretty cool one of my favorites then there is color cycle for instance so this cycle see all the colors we can also go here to faster there are color waves and this one here

looks pretty cool I usually just use that to demonstrate what that keyword can do because this shows the full potential of the Chi 9:10 yeah for sure you have your horizontal you also have vertical and here from the center and oh sorry here sent out and that looks damn awesome okay then here we have keypress and this is pretty cool for instance if you press now a key on the keyboard but as you can see key lights up if you type here then you can see keys will light up and then slowly fade out so you can also have a tiem faster or slower and fully adjusted so that's the back light and I really love backlight on the g9m okay last but not least we have the key press heat map now I've installed this application here on the notebook for the first time because I was using that on my desktop gaming station but basically if you am this application tracks your your typing's that means after we go to you will see which buttons you use a lot for instance WASD buttons they will be red or orange and the Sasuke Eurogamer if you type a lot you'll probably have everything in the same color or almost the same color so yeah that's

everything you can do here in the application so pretty cool here last point least we have settings so nothing too fancy but here you can also um configure the mobile access from your smart phone so for the arcs application okay this is the Logitech Gaming software on the computer all I'll have to say it's one of the best looking games software I've seen and I love it but guys let me quickly show you a logitech arcs application so first of all you have to verify your computer and connected and once you've done that you can check out your pretty cool stuff so you can see your CPU usage so here you can see all my course on my notebook the clock is 2.4 gigahertz CPU load for instance 2% and you can see here the CPU load on all course you can also check out the GPU and you can check out here the temperatures the clock and everything memory here the RAM usage that's pretty cool so unfortunately you cannot free the RAM or something like that here that would be really cool to close background applications but here you can also go to other categories so the button here at the bottom is sometimes a little bit

hard to regions and phones but in this one it's ok so we have here my games you can check out the games you have something which is like a media remote so you can adjust here for instance the volume play pause button so to skip 4 drags you can mute your microphone and here we have the chi-chi's I will just tell you but later what you can do with all those keys but basically here can check out your different profiles so default the other profiles and you can check out what your hotkeys are doing so for instance on what it loads up but which command it is using so that's basically here the application on all have to say it's pretty cool and this here really replaces the display you had on the other Logitech M keyboards I mean it's not so fancy because you have to use a smart phone but I'm a better usage here I think on the G 910 so guys we know here at the end of this review of the logitech c910 orange park and yeah here comes my final conclusion now either you have to love it or hate it this keyboard for me is really nice
now I absolutely love the RGB backlight that's the most beautiful RGB backlight I've ever seen totally can't stand all the keys are looking the same and you can customize every key now regarding the key so let's talk about them the key caps are not so good so it feels like you would have to lift off my fingers a little bit and those addressed it don't feel so good in my opinion but well it really comes down to personal preference there are friends and they say hey that keyboard was absolutely awesome and first of all I said yeah it feels awesome too but it took me like a week to get used it but now I absolutely love it so comes down to personal preference if you're gaming like for five years of your old keyboard it will probably feel totally different but I have to say you will really get used to it I would like the two different size palm rest included then also the Logitech Gaming software is very reliable and has pretty good gaming detection the arcs control application which you can see on a smartphone I think it's pretty cool replaces the display which looked kind of strange anyway and yeah I'm the Hussien cheese which is a

responsive and quiet compared to the cherry mechanical switches so it's not that's a good thing but you don't hear it like so much like another mechanical keyboards but yeah they're quite and if you do gaming and if you're recording something near I'm actually near the keyboard which I do that's better to have it quite the keyboard but still a mechanical keyboard all I'll have to say it was worth the price for me you can check it out links are down below

the Logitech G 9 10 a Ryan's spectrum gaming keyboard I looked at the GT 13 before little while ago which featured their rubber dome keys and from that review I found that a lot of people asked me to look at one of the keyboards that feed to their romaji switches so alas the G 910 here for you to see today now this is kind of the higher end of their keyboard range this keyboard also features nine macro keys and a whole host of other things as well that of course will cover as we go along so the main thing is to cover alongside the macro keys you've also got RGB lighting we have got a phone dock as well which actually syncs with a Arc's app which is available in Android and iOS percy for me I didn't test this because an app for a keyboard is no just for me is not something that I'd ever use so I would recommend checking out another review
form to look at that in a bit more detail or all tax on the pros and cons of that feature later on in

the review though you have got media keys on this keyboard as well as a volume roll which is nice to see certainly better than the g2 13 that just had buttons now something that seems to be brought up on pretty much every keyboard is the picture on the front of the box is a generic US layout that they use just because it's simple to print the same picture on every box the actual keyboard i've got inside is a UK layout so that's why the keyboard that's actually inside and on the box differ so this time we're going to just jump straight into it and show you the keyboard because all that you get included in the box is just in documents so here it is in all its glory the G 910 oddly for me the familiar really reminds me of my G 510 from back in the day as I mentioned in the last review actually from a Logitech and it just it just feels comfortable you know it has there really kind of familiar feel from my old keyboard it's just built really well and you know it just definitely gives me real throwback feel obviously with the new modern-day editions so first let's look on the bottom we've got some rubber pads elf's you're gonna stop

your keyboard from slipping about when you're gaming and typing now the cable for this is a standard cable it's not braided which you kind of really would expect for a gaming product at this price and we've got an oddly thick USB port as well that will go of course into your PC well there isn't any additional pass throughs or any audio capabilities for this keyboard either so literally just a one USB on this one so starting at the bottom the keyboard working our way up got this really cool g9 10 logo that actually it's depending on what color settings you've got on your keyboard nice little touch I really quite like that definitely improves to the aesthetics it was great in the night as well so the left-hand side of the keyboard is very busy I'm so to speak there's a lot going on so on the left hand side we've got five macro keys and then above the F 1 2 F 4 we've got an additional force obviously knowing macro keys then what you can actually do is use the m12 and three buttons at the very top left to then change banks so you've basically

got three banks of nine macro keys for a total of 27 macros you can assign these to different profiles or games if you wish so you could have say one for GTA one for Battlefield one for League of Legends so you can easily switch between them nice and easily or even just one for a workflow maybe for editing one for gaming and then one for maybe DJing or something like that also you've got an illuminated G logo as well which I really do like what I think is quite nice personally is to have that as well as the G 9/10 logo lit differently to the rest of the keyboard just makes it a little bit different now one thing you might notice on the WASD Keys and also the arrow keys there's a small what looks like an indentation but it's actually just printed on the key caps it actually provides a different feel as well so you can easily find the keys without looking it also gives it a nice aesthetic as well another familiar feature on the G

910 is the ability to turn off the Windows key so obviously great when you're playing a game do stop accidentally minimizing that going down to the desktop that's also programmable via the software as well so you can customize the different buttons and features to your own preference and also by that you've also got a button to disable the illumination that's on the keyboard now on the top right-hand side is Percy one of my favorite parts of the keyboard all the media controls so first of all you've got the mute and then the lovely scroll wheel it is quite sensitive so she needs to be careful you can't ramp up and volume to 100% really quite easily so yeah take it easy when you're using that then above that you've got play pause stop and previous and next track the playing pause is also indented so you can find that without looking which is also nice a very sleek looked at the top right-hand side of the keyboard I definitely prefer this over the g2

13 that had the different size and shape buttons this is a lot more elegant solution so the very top center of the keyboard is where we're going to find the Ark dock this is basically where you can put your phone in and then link to the app for Android and iOS to see a couple of more features at the CPU you GPU and ram speeds and temperatures like I said in the start of the review if you want to look at that I'd recommend checking out another review on site in all honesty if you're really worried about the temperatures of what you've got in your wake you'll probably be using Hardware monitor or something like that anyway looking at it just as a doc it's okay obviously you don't have any way to charge the phone as it sits on there so battery life might be a bit of a concern it can take pretty big phones though the Samsung si+ with a cracked screen will fit perfectly also I've tried my Note 3 and that worked in there fine so yeah biggest of phones will fit no worries as it's an open doc on each side as well your phone could fall out

quite easily and I fortunately can't put it in landscape before so it's portrait or nothing see our feature on the keyboard that personally I'm not really gonna use on this set X now I do like the way that the size of the keyboard kind of round off and then you've got a little supporting plastic vines and if it doesn't look matter but it is plastic but but anyway it does make it look quite nice and definitely looks good but it's on your desk okay so taking off a few of the key caps to look at the romaji switch is underneath I wouldn't recommend doing that by the way but in the name of science then I will do it for you so you can see now the REM Keys differ a quite a bit from a mechanical key so basically you've got a very small bump at the top you won't feel this low during gameplay it's just when you really kind of slowly press the key you can actually notice that little bump there then it goes down to a very soft ending to the key press travel so it's kind of like a mix between the membrane with a little bump at the top but it's a very nice key to use as you can see in the video here it's got like the plastic out were solid and

then LED shining through which is a nice way to do it if you're wondering how the sounds in practice let's have a listen well hello listen let's have a whip around the software now like a lot of other companies you're just take use is one piece of software to control all the peripherals which is really handy so now this is just going into the macro settings you can literally set any of the macro keys that I mentioned the nine different ones and then on the three different banks as well so set those to your heart's content I'm just running through the different options here to see what you can actually do this is more of a time consuming thing that you can spend hours on to get it exactly how you want it but I'm just literally showing you the options that are available you might notice that this video is a little bit different for actual the keyboard preview as well such being shot on a Logitech c920 webcam so thank you for going to take some of that out I think you'll agree that it's a lot better perspective than what I usually use now at the top

of the menu we've got all the different games that the software actually detects you can also add some more in as well and you can make custom profiles which is you know maybe you want to use one for Premiere Pro maybe one for a Photoshop any piece of software or a game doesn't matter what it was you can literally set up a different lighting profile then also macros to match on the top of the lighting you've got preset modes with this one like you do with pretty much any other RGB keyboard so going through them first to fix color the white on this one there's a little bit green unfortunately but that's the sacrifice you do make with RGB as I mentioned in my other reviews breathing's pretty self-explanatory breathe in and out for different color customizable to your preference of course now star effect we've seen this in other RGB

keyboards but Logitech's adaptation is a little bit different they basically have a start and then a sky color which you can pick to whatever you fancy Percy not as great as similar the ones we've seen I don't think that just kind of randomized the color in just a random location but this one does the job now the color cycle literally just goes through the entire RGB spectrum as you can see here that's rather excessive speed but it's just to show you how it does it just so the video doesn't go on for too long color wave which is pretty much the classic effect that's what I'll count lis rocking on it now you can't change horizontal vertical and then Center out as well if you wish but but personally for me left-to-right is how I rock it last one I've got is the key press obviously reactive on the press of the actual key again you can change the different Lighting's for that as well whatever color you fancy then you've got the options to go in different commands so so as you can see that changes a whole selection of course you've got customisation on that as well you can make a really psychedelic colors if you want to then you

can change the macro keys as well so I think what a walk off will be beneficial for that so maybe you could have a different color for a different castes bow or something along those lines then you can just go in and change the groups or you can literally just select an individual key to change the light on literally all up to you but it's definitely nice to see the perky backlighting options that we didn't see on the g2 13 that kind of had the five different zones but the perky lighting is definitely the way to go now something that might be quite interested to some place is the heat map that Logitech offers you you can start this when you turn your PC on for example it'll basically track where you press to write that entire session where you press the most and you can always have it displayed on the keyboard itself so the more you press it the darker it gets in color and as you can see on the keyboard it goes red when you've pressed it the most after that you get a little bit of information right away you've been spending the time on the

keyboard something quite quirky but it's one of those things that you might use it a couple of times then not use again just if you're wondering these are the advanced settings for the keyboard I thought I'd show you them just in case somebody wanted to see them I know there's some people that want to see specific things so so this might be for you so if you watch my reviews before you know I usually do this I go through the keyboard then the software then give you my thoughts so onto the conclusion now in terms of the actual performance of the keyboard I found this to be personally for me very good I'm not a massive competitive player though so the keys for one thing might be something that don't please everyone just because of how they feel if you're a competitive player then you're definitely prefer the mechanical Keys just because of the response you get when they bought them out I do like the macro keys on this keyboard though for me what I've been doing is remapping them two different commands that

using Premiere Pro so I could do for example save import/export there's a lots of different things I could do in an editing point of view to make my life a little bit easier single commands like C and V for the razor and mouse to whatever you think you need to remap those are pretty you know solid where they are I did find though there was a little bit of adaptation time to get used to where the keyboard macros were going from a normal keyboard that doesn't have macros so this one was a little but there was a little bit of a transition period just because of those keys I'd find myself going to obviously the far left of the keyboard you know it takes a little bit getting used to but having a little bit it's painted on the WASD Keys helps as well the g6 to g9 keys that are above the F 1 to F 4 keys can be a little bit close if you do happen to try and go for those you can hit the f1 key you can't hit the F 1 2 F 4 pretty easily so something to bear in mind there also the 5 buttons on the left hand side might be a little bit further to get to

as well if you have small hands personally for me I've got massive hands so it's no problem for me but some people might struggle a little bit the Dockers I mentioned that's nothing that I'm really gonna use so I'm not really gonna deduct points or add points because depending what's not applicable for me there I do love the media controls that's probably my favorite part about this keyboard I love a volume scroll wool and then just the way they've presented the media case for the you know the start/stop previous/next track just really nice I actually loved the blue LED underneath as well some people might like that to change with the color profile they're using on the keys but unfortunately we can't do that but for me that's no issue I do love the blue that goes with it some people may miss the fact that there's no USB port or even an audio pass-through now personally I'm not really too fussed if you've watched my reviews before that have those then I've mentioned before it doesn't really make much difference to me cuz I never used

them anyway but some people that might be a bit of a deal-breaker so something to consider in that aspect I do love the RGB customisation it's nice to see that there's a vast selection you can do compared to the g2 13 we looked at before ultimately though for me it's got to be the wave in terms of the colour after having a play about some of the things that pretty cool but for me the classic always wins if you wanted to run the white on this keyboard you're gonna straw it a little bit it doesn't go a little bit green but as I mentioned before RGB is a difficult color to produce white because you're trying to get three colors to match into one so yeah a little bit of green tinge but with RGB you kind of have to expect it's not gonna be perfect anyway overall I do like this keyboard though having that feel with you know go back to the G 510 is something I really like it definitely does feel for me at home for the current price that's on sale that it may not satisfy everyone's needs but but for me I think it's a pretty good offering
