HyperX product and what we have today is double shop PBT keycaps for mechanical keyboards from HyperX and one thing before we get into this product here I want to be clear some users price on my HyperX keyboard review I did a couple days ago and the one downfall I had was the heat caps how they had a little glossy but you can see them very minor like I guess starting to wear something like that if so minor i couldn't you show it on the camera you remember I just want to be clear I did not buy these because of that right because anything was faulty with the keyboard or those keys it was a dealer today on Amazon and honestly they looked cool and more than that I was curious like what the heck's the difference from these to those you know so don't think I bought these because something was wrong with that keyboard or that minor fault that I said was that big where I had to go off and buy some more keys again

I was just curious and they looked cool I so again what we have here is the HyperX double shot PBT key caps and that PBT guys it's gonna be like a double layer plastic which one I read on it right most key caps are abs or just regular plastic single layer than that sprayed over this supposed to be a dual layer through there so again the letters or any of that will never fade on you you know and again this guy has a two year warranty so I mean think we're kind of into good as far as that it shines through translucent design for lustrous RGB lighting all right so this is how they come in a box can you guys see that it's pretty cool because it's like it's sealed really tight you know like a nice package cheese or something just air sucked out you know and it's really cool cuz if whenever in shipping or transit or whatever they're not gonna bang

around and scratch up on each other so they're really they're sealed up and they're really nice also comes with a little manual if so whenever you're popping your keys out you won't forget where they go or anything also comes with as you can see right here over here is a key puller popper whatever you want to call it I'm one thing I do notice right off the bat which to talk about later here is a space bar does not have the HyperX logo on it anymore so Street has a line up there which hey I think it's pretty cool now I want to show you one quick thing before I get installing it just pop these out of the box I just wanted to show you this just comparison I'm not too sure how well you can see this but the stock HyperX one is super smooth real nice and smooth there you can see that a little bit there you see mild texture on the replacement key caps here you can feel it just slightly so it's kind of nice you got I don't know want to say a little bit of

a grip but you know it is different on the back seat look at the sockets where it connects right there this is a stock one this is a replacement so the stock when you just have that base triangle right there and then a replacement it's like this nice solid circle bit right there so yeah in my opinion you lose some flex you know to be in there really nice and tight which would be really nice you know and you got some extra supports in the middle as you can see those bars compared to this other one so it's it I mean II that I'm feel real cheesy by any means you know but um you can tell this one feels a bit stronger than this one and I'm talking mild nothing major by any means but you can feel the difference and as far as the PBT like you said have you got that clear right here or the white where RGB is going to come through and then the

black up there you can actually see on the bottom you can see it right past that first circle there you can see where the black is connected and then where it's molded together so again the PBT how you got two separate pieces being attached to each other while this guy is just one painted black piece and if you can it's gonna be real hard to see on camera that you can see a little bit in the corners you can see where the paint kind of bleeds over on this guy your keys are gonna be a bit different as you see how I said print screen here and now it's abbreviated for print screen so all your keys that had it spelled out like that before will be abbreviated like that now your f9 with your shortcut keys is gonna be removed it's just gonna be your F whatever right and you're not gonna have this shortcut in notification on whether it be for volume or mute or anything like that so that's that's a bummer for me because I don't have my keys memorized

you know I probably should the fonts on these keys are a bit different as you can see over here it's kind of more of like a bold font and here it's got that I don't know you want to say I don't know retro but there's always a space in between as you can see with the the line in between the a it stops and same with the P or the B is always a cut in between which I honestly like the new one a bit better it looks really cool now I showed this in my review about the keyboard previously but I'll show you again any mechanical keyboard not just the HyperX but all the keys are gonna pop off extremely easy you just kind of give them a little tug right there and they'll come off now again we do have the key puller here which might be easy for these ones that get pretty tight around here but I'm gonna pull all these off put the other ones on I'm not gonna make you guys sit here and watch me do that and I'll catch you back once I get them all installed alright hey everyone I'm back and we are all installed and look at this I mean good

night that thing looks good doesn't it I'm gonna check it out right there kinda at that angle where you see the black and white right there oh man it looks so good let me give you a little closer it looks so nice let's go ahead and kill the lights to see how this RGB looks all right so here we go with the red lights on and this is at the lowest light setting it's hard to tell on camera but you can probably see more on my face lit on a keyboard that's at the highest and that's what we'll go ahead and run through here but let me just show you real quick well you see how it lights up all the way down there where the keys were white and then the black up there so it really brings out your lights a lot more and you guys know I'm not a big RGB guy but this makes this keyboard look so awesome like I really like it like this might be the first RGB like look at that when you press a button so it kind of looks like it's bleeding over to the other button I don't know I think that looks cool here we go with this effect looks real awesome too I

mean check that out you can compare that to the other video that I did of the review on the keyboard as well or what I did right before here oh my god it looks so good doesn't it like check it out and you see it go through the bottom look at it I can sit here watch this all day I mean it looks so good the the texture on like I show you before when you're actually playing or using it you really feel the texture and I want to say it is grippier but I guess it is you know what I mean is my fingers didn't really slide around before but you really feel that texture grip it on there right now and as you all know where most years no I'm not a big RGB guy and I love this like I really do love the RGB or are you know the red that lights up on my keyboard here it just looks

so cool ice all in all HyperX double Schottky caps wow I gotta see these things are awesome let's total win here again I got them on Amazon's deal it a day before I believe 12 bucks I believe regular MSRP is so half off I mean you can't beat it I mean it's such an awesome upgrade they feel great they look great total win here

HyperX 20 bucks on Amazon I want to see what they're gonna do to my keyboard so let's go take a look alright guys now leave the link to the Amazon page in the description below but opening it up we got a couple things there's your usual HyperX pamphlet or you know just congratulate you on giving them money then you have an actual map of your keyboard which is amusing but actually a pretty good tool given that there's always gonna be that particular key cap you might not know where it goes so you kind of have a road map here then you have three sealed bags of the actual key caps themselves as well as a key cap remover which you definitely want to utilize don't try to just rip these off with your fingers you could you could break the

actual switches stem you know there's just a small like crucifix like cross style so I opened up the bottom one and this is a key cap itself and what this means with your double shot TBS is that it's actually two pieces of plastic molded together okay and the benefit to that is that it's not gonna wear down so solvents oil from your fingers anything like that it's not gonna be abrasive because pulling a key cap off of my current setup on my fanatic those are just standard a be was it abt keys and what that means is that it's just standard plastic and this is printed you if you run your finger across the font of your key caps you'll be able to know what the key kept it is because if you can feel it like an indentation that means it's printed so this can get a slimy but it can definitely over time become what's the word shiny because you're then dealing with oil residue that's built up over time and I'm sorry the camera does not want to

focus um but yes these are much more durable which is why when you go online there's a good chance they're gonna be more money but HyperX decided to release these at 25 bucks but they're 20 dollars on Amazon right now so let's go ahead and let's throw these on the keyboard itself and just to show ya I took some off of my keyboard right now and you guys might remember this one in a video I did so there's your cherry MX Wow I need a new camera guys all right so yeah you can see the stem design though these key caps are gonna work with Cherry MX switches and Cherry MX clone switches so any other brand that has a similar stem that's in like a crucified cross pattern that's what you're looking for so I am going to install all these for you and then I will show you guys in just second alright guys and here she is completely assembled with the new key caps I took maybe ten minutes definitely recommend having a

thing of canned air with you to kind of clean out all the gunk from underneath the old key caps because I'm pretty sure something growled at me when I took my old old off but I know these feel fantastic I will say with the Cherry MX switches that I have it could be just a key caps that need to be broken in but now when the you definitely want to push all the way in once you think you have the key cap seated push it in even further and you'll actually feel it and a seat in perfectly so these aren't going anywhere at all my only complaint with the key caps it's going to be that some of the font doesn't seem to really I'm in super-clear so it's really hard with it not zooming and I do apologize but it's kind of darker and some aspects of it I would have preferred just basic font I don't need this stylized font that HyperX has other companies have their own stylized fun as well like Razer does it Corsair with their obnoxiously large numbers

and letters but other than that though I'm really really happy with the feel the key caps that being the number one thing and then after that of course with how nice it looks again I'm gonna keep mentioning it my webcam sucks but it's what I got to work with right now and the colors do look gorgeous in person so definitely let me know if you have any questions in the comments like the review if you enjoyed it and I'll definitely leave that link down in the description so you can grab yourself a pair definitely recommend getting them or the price tag that they got going for right now other than that until next time catch you guys later
