what is going on everyone and welcome where I'm going to be unboxing one of the most difficult keyboards to get today the ducky won two mini specifically with the Cherry MX red switches this keyboard is in such high demand right now that if you were to order it today today I'm recording it On January 8th it would even ship out until after March 15th now keep in mind that's only for the Cherry MX red switches which is what I have on my keyboard if you were to order it with a different color of switch it should ship out at the end of January now for the past year or so I've been using the das 4 ultimate keyboard with the blank key caps and the clicky tactile Cherry MX blue switches and I've been absolutely loving it but I really wanted something a bit smaller that I could take on the go with me if I need to and I also wanted to try out the linear and quieter Cherry MX red switches and speaking of that make sure you stick
around to the end of the video where I'm gonna be doing a sound and feel comparison between the Cherry MX red and blue switches and without further ado we're gonna see if the ducky won two mini lives up to the hype so let's open this sucker up now I'm very excited to make this video because I ordered this keyboard nearly a month ago and it finally arrived when I ordered it in early December if the estimated ship date was December 28th and it ended up shipping a little bit later and took about a week to get here because I live on the complete other side of the country from Tennessee I'm not saying this to complain I'm just informing you of my experience should you want to purchase one of your own so you kind of know what to expect now that being said the company who supplies this keyboard in the US fittingly called mechanical keyboards has been great throughout this whole process they've provided quick
responses to my inquiries and we're very clear about the status of my order so props to them for that oh here we go now one of the cool things that the mechanical keyboards company does is they include a gift of your choice to be packaged with the order so I chose the two three very random key caps so it looks like there's three in here so let's open these up and see what I got so we have a F 12 cm - it's interesting I've also got a plus and equals button very useful and then a number 8 key so yes very random and they're pretty cool all right so now for the moment you've all been waiting for the ducky one too many here we go so here we have a fairly nice box pretty simple nice small little box as you can see got the cherry MX red switches it's open the bad boy up and see what we've got inside it's a nice little key cap protectors that should be very helpful for kind of bringing this guy on the go and here it is Wow oh man is this thing tiny I
love it this is so cool Wow look at this thing this thing is just super tiny just fits right in the palms of your hands just you know very light and portable I mean not extremely light there's definitely kind of some weight to it it definitely feels like a really solid quality product that's something that I really wanted out of this keyboard is I wanted something to be very nice and durable it uses the PBT double shot key caps which are supposed to be much more durable for the long term and I know that the whole outside of the case is just super rigid again I want a nice portable keyboard and this definitely delivers on that and I mean these these red switches just kind of right off the gate I mean that they feel really great to use as you can see I got the
green Enter key here which I'm assuming I know they give you kind of a set of other key caps and soon they're all gonna be green let's check these out here oh boy and look at that ooh these are really cool-looking key caps a nice bright green super happy with the color here that's awesome so these are just a better look at some of the key caps I got as you can see I got some directional arrow keys a backspace Enter key as well as a vertical Enter key which don't even think I can use on this keyboard but I can use it on my other one so that's pretty cool and then just got kind of three cool little design keys here that are you know probably used as escape keys or something and then of course they also give you this space bar which I believe is the year of the dog space bar it's pretty cool because when with the RGB lights that are on the keyboard they'll actually glow through this and it looks pretty cool I'm definitely gonna
showing the RGB is off in a sec so stick around for that okay also comes with a key cap puller so you can easily switch out your key caps and of course a nice USB type-c cable super awesome that companies like this are kind of making USB C to be the norm this is definitely a very high quality USBC cable in a nice velcro strap on this that's nice to have especially to be kind of portable like a pretty long enough USB cable very happy about that as far as everything else in the box there's basically just user's manual fairly thick here I know there's a bunch of really cool quirks and features about this keyboard and as I learned more about this I kind of plan to be sharing some of my cool findings with you all so I'm gonna be making a video where I go over some of the cool and hidden features of this keyboard once I get a little bit more
experience of it so make sure you subscribe to the channel so you don't miss out on that on the back here it looks like there's a little aluminum plate so we'll peel this guy off and we get this very nice aluminum plate here maybe a nice good look at that I mean yeah right out of the gate I can tell if this is a very high quality product everything just feels kind of nice and speaking of all sorts of cool features we got some little switches on the bottom here I'll leave that for the next video to explain what those do there's just four different little positional switches there so as I mentioned before I'm kind of planning on taking this keyboard on the go so it's nice that they have this little kind of key cap protector here but I also picked up this nice little case off Amazon here specifically built for keyboards and let's see how well it fits in here well I
definitely leave a link to in the description for this for this little holder and boy that fits in there just perfectly I mean that is that is pretty much as snug as you can get I mean it seems like this case was basically just made for this keyboard here and there's a nice little pocket on here where I can you know shove the cable or something else in there and here's just a quick size comparison between my desk keyboard for ultimate as you can tell I mean it's literally just this part of the keyboard is you know what you're getting here and the bezel is you know very thin around it so just very small portable I love this thing everything's so cool all right so real quickly I'm switch out a couple of these key caps and get this bad boy plugged in and kind of check out some of the RGB action cuz I think that's where this keyboard really shines all right so just playing around with some of the RGB modes on a little bit I was trying to turn the
brightness up a little because it seemed just a little bit too dim so turn the lights off in the room here hopefully it's still good enough for you all anyways you can cycle through the different modes by using FN alt and then T so this first mode is just kind of a wave it waves through the colors here next it kind of cycles through the colors and you can you can always kind of slow these down using FN alt and J or you can speed them up using FN alt L so the next one this one's called raindrops this one's probably my favorite it seems a little bit dim but I think that's okay it does look pretty cool just kind of with all the random little colors going everywhere next is the ripple mode so as you kind of press on the keys and it just kind of sort of sort of ripples out and all sorts of different random colors so that's kind of cool the next is I think it just kind of randomly selects a color here and then it'll it'll fade out after time so you can see if I keep
hitting the same key it'll just keep changing cycling through different colors here the next is something similar but everything is all in the same color the next we have is a breathe mode so it kind of lights up and then it will dim down after a second yep dims down I mean I think we're gonna kind of speed this up here so you can see we can really get some crazy flash and going on here next is just the 100% full backlit so this is just gonna stay one solid color as bright as it can next one is an interesting one called radar mode and it kind of sweeps around and then when you hit the keys they'll kind of briefly light up a little bit so that's sort of an interesting one and then last but not least is just completely off no RGB at all keep it nice and simple all right now and as promised I am going to be doing a typing comparison between the sound and the feel of
the Cherry MX red switches and the Cherry MX blue switches as for the key feel the Cherry MX Reds are smooth and linear meaning the key easily presses down to the bottom as long as constant pressure is applied however they do feel a bit heavier than the Cherry MX Blues the Cherry MX Blues have a tactile bump and make an audible click when the switch is activated I would say I prefer this for typing because you get physical and auditory feedback exactly when the switch is activated and the letter is typed you can see here that because of this tactile resistance I can actually press the key down slightly and rest the key on the tactile bump without activating the switch pressing just a little harder to break through that bump sends the key easily to the bottom so anyways initial impressions of this keyboard are extremely positive
I'm very happy with this thing definitely if you're interested in purchasing one of these I would highly suggest you get on it as soon as possible because these things are selling like hotcakes again overall very strong build quality the only downside I would say is I wish the RGB was a little bit brighter but I'm not really someone who cares about RGB all that much so it doesn't really matter for me again I really just want a nice super portable keyboard and that's what I got
Akko X Ducky One 2 - Mini RGB Cherry MX Switch PBT Keycap 60% RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
ducky one two mini RGB keyboard bit of a strange name there this has had a ton of requests for me to check out got my hands on it and as you can see fully decked amount and customize it so I'm gonna tell you guys about my experience with it the pros and cons all that good stuff in case you want to check out the ducky one too many so first up duckies a pretty well known company I'm sure you've heard them by now they put out tons of keyboards in the past and they're definitely well respected amongst the keyboard community I for one I'm a big fan I'm 60% keyboards because it keeps down the desktop clutter it leaves a smaller footprint so what I saw was Tim was released one to check it out and they got from Taiwan to my door in just five days so I was pretty psyched about that when you start to unbox it and you lay your eyes on itfor the first time you'll see it does look rather different the frame of the board itself looks very thin in its dual tone with black and white but we'll check it out in a minute inside the box that include a few key things first is the manual and trust me you don't want to lose this next is the USB type-c cable and a key cap puller you get a set of different colored key caps and a year of the dog spacebar and they said that every board will come with a different random color key cap set from blue red yellow and green I somehow got purple so they definitely weren't kidding when they said random key cap set but not complaining here I'm gonna customize it anyways so checking it out the black and white frame on it does look really sleek it kind of dips in on the bottom making the left and right side kind of stand out more and have more like an angular
look which I just think looks really nice here with the white part of the board being glossy it does kind of make it stand out more but though good thing it's on the bottom so that way all the fingerprints and stuff and smudges will remain unseen then even though they include the purple accent key cap set here you already know before I even got this in I wanted to switch it up so I bought my own a custom key cap set there are like this nice midnight green color big fan of it now what's more my style I'd say so now that I have a customized my only question is do I keep it black and green or white and green let me know what you guys think down below on the back side is their ducky 1/2 mini branding it does take up about 1/4 of the back but again it's on the back side not a big deal you're barely gonna see it then on the left side of the board is your
USB type-c port of course you already know got my own custom cable as well it's this custom detachable 6 pin mini ps2 cable that I got from mass drop it's in this teal color with the black nylon cover it looks awesome and it matches the keycap set perfectly then on the bottom of the board you have four rubber strips to vent it from sliding around your desktop and you actually have two feet these flip out for two different angles of elevation and this is something you rarely ever see on 60-percent keyboards let alone having to fit on the back you'll also see the cutout for the dip switch which is gonna let you pretty much rearrange where you have your function key the window key and stuff like that it explains the layout configuration in the manual so moving on this keyboard also features and key rollover which means you can press as many keys as you
want at the same time and they'll all register making it a great gaming keyboard although you don't have to use it for gaming obviously that's kind of like it's uh more of a marketing term but I've been using it and had no complaints at all now we can talk about the caps and the switches so the ones actually use stock on the keyboard are laser engraved double shot pbt key caps the RGB still shines with the key caps nicely and we also have some printing on the front side of the key since you know it's a 60% keyboard a lot of the functions of stuff are left out since there's less Keys so they're printed there so you can see what keys are gonna be accessing when you pop off a key cap you will see here we have cherry red switches online for this
keyboard they have a few different ones you can pick from from cherry red blue brown speed Twitter's and I think even silent switches are available but I'm content with Reds here you'll see the RGB light is embedded right above the actual switch that's all on this nice way backplate to kind of you know enhance and accentuate the RGB lighting but we'll check that stuff out in a minute and the moment you've all been waiting for we'll do a sound test with these cherry red switches you're probably able to tell just from that sound test but this is incredibly satisfying to type on I don't know if it's improved stems or stabilizers but there is practically no rattle or jitter that you typically hear when you type on the space bar or the back or Enter key it could sound pretty harsh if it's poorly made but here it sounds great next up we'll run through the
RGB lighting and the effects and stuff like that so you can see what it's capable of and warning it's kind of difficult like I said before definitely resort to that manual alright someone is powered on obviously you're gonna have the rainbow wave as the default effect it's very popular everyone knows this and how you change it is by pressing function alt and T that's gonna cycle your modes it has like the color cycle mode will just you know go through the spectrum a raindrop mode which is also known as like SAR light on other keyboards ripple so when you press a key it'll send a ripple of lighting out a random reactive mode from when you press on a key it'll kind of pulse to that color for a bit and then in the sixth seventh eighth and ninth mode these are the only ones that actually give you the option to change up the lighting so for the six mode the reactive mode you can change what color you want it to be same with the
breathing mode the eighth mode is gonna be a 100% backlit modes you can pick whatever sort of static color you like and then the ninth mode is called a radar and how you change up what kind of color you want it to be by pressing a function alt Z X and C that'll give you full control of the RGB color way if you can go through a precisely pick a kind of color you want but that's kind of annoying if you just press function all and spacebar that'll give you the full color palette on your keys you can just pick whatever key or color you want it to be and then it all changed from there that's definitely much easier for people who like the white LED backlighting when you're in the color palette mode the backspace will give you the whitest color they offer and it's still not a pure white it does have that pinkish tint unfortunately I have seen worse though so
pretty standard stuff but for example I don't know how to change like the raindrop mode to be a certain color I don't know if even can because only certain modes are able to be customized but it's just kind of confusing I personally like keeping it on the single backlit mode to kind of match the color themes I'm a big Eagles fan so that kind of like midnight green and black looks pretty good then while we're here we could talk about recording macros and on your keyboard you have six different profiles you can toggle between with one being your default layout and you can't record any macros on that first modes has to be either profile 2 through 6 how you record it is you hold down function alt and tab for 3 seconds it'll then blink to let you know that you can start recording there you can just press any key you want to set as a macro so we'll say I don't know G here then when the caps lock starts blinking it to let you know that it's now
recording you can enter whatever sort of keystrokes you want whatever combo you one record as your macro and you press function and ought to save that macro and then function alt tab to exit so then if I hit G yo then lastly before you move on they have games on this keyboard kind of like our Russian Roulette mode in a minesweeper game it's built in I've never seen this before more silica a gag kind of thing you know show it off to your friends impress them you're not gonna be playing there's other games you could be playing obviously using your keyboard not games on your keyboard but it is built-in alright so wrapping it all up with pros and cons let's run through it first off it's just a really well-made a nice looking keyboard it's sleek and modern at the same time I've never really seen a frame like this and it looks just pretty damn good I think it's definitely pulled off nicely here having onboard RGB lighting control and
macro control is definitely a plus a la touch on this in a minute I love the fact that you have two different fold-out feet on the back which is just so rare for a 60% board like this USB type-c adoption is definitely a plus for all devices moving forward and the fact it's very customizable friendly is just awesome now as for cons I have liked one and a half the half of one which is kind of like F whatever is the fact that it is kind of pretty confusing to control all the RGB lighting and customize it I like having onboard control like that without needing software but with this it gets kind of tedious and it's just kind of you know tedious that'sthat's the word for it you're gonna have to keep resorting to your manuals you want to really customize it with all the modes and stuff like that so that's kind of annoying but the only real kana fuss I could say is the fact that the USB port on the back something's off with it my cable kept disconnecting all the time and as you can see it's kind of flimsy hanging out there I didn't go to Google and I just
typed it up real quick and I saw that other people were having this issue so hopefully with future versions I can kind of revise that but that's pretty much all I can complain about I love the look of the board it's so nice and simple and it really gives you that opportunity to customize it and make it your very own all for just a hundred dollars and look at the competition out there that's a pretty good price point I think for a mechanical kind of 60% keyboard like this with some great built-in features guys I'll wrap it up for my review of the ducky one too many RGB keyboard .
