what's up guys in today's we're gonna look at the new Corsair k70 RGB mark 2 now this is an updated version of the original k70 which was released four years ago and Corsair has made some nice upgrades to the mark 2 so let's get to the review, all right so let's look at some key features of this keyboard and then let's go into them in a little more detail the k70 mark 2 that I'll be reviewing uses Cherry MX red key switches and it offers a hundred percent anti-ghosting with full key rollover to make sure that every single keystroke is registered quickly and accurately it has practically unlimited backlight color combinations and eight megabytes of on-board profile storage and has dedicated volume and multimedia controls to offer on-the-fly adjustments and it includes fps and MOBA keycap sets finally this board has a USB pass-through for any peripherals that you may want to attach and it's fully

programmable with Corsairs utility engine or q my goal with every product review is to give
you a detailed overview of the product features as well as hands-on experience so that you can make an informed buying decision and if you find it helpful please let me know by giving it a like and then hitting the subscribe and notification button for more keyboard and tech reviews I also want to give a shout out to Coursera for sending me this keyboard to review alright so let's look at the K 70 mark 2 in more detail I want to start out by talking about the look and feel of the mark 2 the frame is made of aircraft-grade anodized brushed aluminum which I think gives this board a premium look and feel my k68 RGB for example has a matte black finish which I also like so ultimately it comes down to personal preference the K 70 mark 2 is also offered in a special edition silver aluminum frame with white keys which looks sick back to the brushed aluminum version the spacebar is textured and gives the board a very unique look the mark 2 uses the new large typeface that you'll see on the new Corsair boards I like how much of the LED light passes through this white font so you really get to see the colors not just around the keys but through them next let's look at the upgraded Corsair logo in the center of the

board which is now RGB rather than Chrome like on some previous boards and that's a super nice touch by Corsair and provides a more consistent look with the rest of the mark 2 which brings me to colors and the K 70 mark who offers perky RGB backlighting which means that you could technically program each key to use a different color some people are going to take advantage of this high level of customization and some are going to be happy with a variety of onboard pre-installed effects now using Corsairs cue software you'll have access to the entire RGB spectrum of over 16 million colors so you can choose from any hue combination you can think of again if you don't feel like messing around with it you can just choose from the various lighting patterns which are available by default with most presets you can also select the speed and direction of the movement which is really cool alright so let's move on the K 70 mark 2 is

super well built the aircraft-grade anodized brushed aluminum frame is extremely durable and feels super solid from a build quality standpoint the mark 2 is clearly a premium board and is both lightweight and built to last this particular board comes with 100% gold contact Cherry MX red key switches that have been super responsive and accurate for me the Cherry MX Reds are linear keyboard switches so they don't have tactile or audible feedback to let you know that you're past the actuation point which is at about 1.5 millimeters so you're either bottoming out or with practice you learn where the actuation point is and you get used to it personally I really like the smooth linear response and they've worked great for me when I'm playing programming designing and editing now the K 70 mark 2 is a standard full-size board so it's not a 10 keyless board which is sometimes a consideration if you're tight on space ok so let's move on to the function of the mark 2 beyond the long term reliability of the Cherry MX key switches you're also getting 100% anti-ghosting and full key roll over or nkr oh if you're

familiar with gaming and higher-end mechanical keyboards you already know what that means but if you want to know more there's a link in the description to my review of the k68 RGB where I explain what these two terms mean and why they are so important in short I'll just say that the combination of anti-ghosting and NK ro ensures that no matter how fast you use the keyboard or how much of a masher you are every single key press is registered correct and going back to the Cherry MX Reds they're also very quiet so this particular variant isn't as clicky as one that would use blues for example the k70 mark 2 is offered with red blue brown silent and speed key switches so you can choose the sound and tactile feedback that you like best I'll give you a sound test so you can get an idea of what the red sound like on the right above the number pad you'll find the dedicated media buttons you have a stop previous play pause and next buttons above the row of buttons you'll see the mute button as well as the volume rocker which replaces the traditional volume up and down Keys I really like the new

volume rocker it's super smooth and accurate and I actually prefer it to volume up and down buttons now going back to the multimedia Keys you can see that the design is more consistent with the rest of the keys on the board rather than the squishy rubbery buttons used on some boards Corsair opted for this new style which really gives the board a more refined and premium look I mentioned this before but I love having the mute button on the board itself so that I can quickly turn off the sound if I get a call without having to fumble around get to the speaker volume controls there are three other keys on the top left of the board the first allows you to switch profiles this way you can set up different profiles and then switch them on the fly the board does come with eight megabytes of on-board profile storage so that you can use the stored profiles without the need for the cue software to be installed and this lets you take the board with you plug it in anywhere and use your lighting settings the next button is a dedicated key for controlling the brightness of the keyboard you can use it to alternate between three

brightness levels and an off state and finally there's a key that will let you lock the does key and this feature is critical for gaming so you don't accidentally hit the Windows key and then dump yourself out into the desktop in the middle of a game next Corsair did include textured fps and MOBA keycap sets as well as a key cap removal tool which is something I now expect from a high-end board moving on the mk2 also comes with a detachable palm rest to add comfort and support I'm in my desk for 10 to 12 hours a day so economics are a priority for me my desk can be moved up and down so I always make sure that the keyboard is at the optimal height but I like the additional support that this clip-on palm rest offers it is plastic so it doesn't actually add a ton of padding per se but if your keyboard is positioned at the appropriate height and your arms are resting comfortably there shouldn't be a ton of pressure on your palms to begin with and this board is extremely comfortable even after hours of use the cord on the back of the mark 2 is a very thick USB cable with a splitter which of course is needed if you plan on using the USB pass-through port on the back of the board you can use this USB port for a mouse a

USB headset or any other peripheral let's take a look at the bottom of the board there are little risers on the back of the keyboard that can be flipped up to tilt the keyboard a bit and this is something you may use if you find that the slight angle change is more comfortable and finally there are also underside cable routing channels to help with cable management overall the K 70 mark 2 is a really nice mechanical keyboard I love the brushed aluminum finish and the ability to practically have unlimited combination of backlighting colors the Cherry MX red key switches are super responsive and a hundred percent anti-ghosting and full key rollover make sure that each keystroke is always registered correctly I love the new look and the accessibility of the dedicated multimedia controls and the volume rocker works really well if you're a casual or competitive gamer or even if you don't game but are just a super heavy computer user give

this board a look the k70 RGB mark 2 sells for amazon and I'll put links in the description because there are always specials and discounts and the links will automatically be updated

Corsair just released to kind of refresh their product line on hand here we have the brand new cursor gaming k70 RGB mark 2 keyboard they also put out a strafe RGB mark 2 so this review that's not gonna be an in-depth rebukes have already done reviews of all those keyboards just pretty much showing you guys what is new and some of the new additions to these keyboards so like I said on hand here I do have the new k70 RGB mark - we do have cherry MX blue switches in this unit and since the original k70 RGB released almost four years ago now in 2014 this was their way to kind of revamp it and make it more modernized here for their 2018 rerelease so admittedly not too much has changed here with these new keyboards but the revamp is definitely gonna be a plus new consumers out there cuz it's gonna make it better keyboard in the end but let's check out what's inside the box so it couldn't be your standard packaging and something you're probably used to and they also do include a nice eye

detachable rubberized wrist rest for you as well as some extra texture key cap sets is gonna be for your FPS and MOBA keys and stuff like that but these are some additions that we've already seen but the second you take it out and plug it in a light start going you'll notice a few differences and this is where the changes start to come into play so first off on the top of the keyboard here you do have a Corsair backlit logo while it's not a big change in the past it was kind of like this chrome sort of finish but now that's all controlled inside the software so you can make it whatever color you want and go to whatever effect you want we also have these dedicated media keys on the right side of the keyboard and while we've had these in previous k70 lineups these are pretty much the keys you can find on the K 95 platinum so the keyboard itself is pretty much the same design the same layout you still even have your dedicated USB pass-through on the backside but other than the backlit logo you have hardware playback the

main changes here are gonna come with these switch types so in the past the k7 these always launched with either red or brown switches and blues were available much later on but they were very very limited but now you get the entire switch lineup for your k70 RGB mark 2 you can get reds blues Browns their popular cherry speed switches there's silent switches which were first available in their strafe lineup and you can also get this keyboard in silver they were pretty quiet about releasing this which is kind of odd because I think it looks awesome so here I have an old rapid-fire k70 that was only available in Japan but as you can see it's in this white aluminum finish so you're getting this exact keyboard but with the newer case having the upgrades and changes definitely a hot looking keyboard I'd say so it's now available to

everyone so the biggest thing to take away from this k7e mark ii it's gonna be the new additions for all the switch types available and that's really great because being limited in the past kind of sucked for somebody who was used to a certain type of switch or if they wanted a certain type of switch for their gaming now instead of being limited you have the full lineup to choose from which i think is a big big plus and like I said before I have the cherry blues in here which are very clicky and tactile so as I always do I'll do a sound test for you guys to hear how these blue switches sound so now we're going to switch it over to the rapid-fire RGB mark 2 and again this is my original rapid-fire RGB that released I believe it was mid 2016 so newer refresh of this so first like you see with the K 70 on the backlit logo here is gonna be a new addition to this and I'm a big fan of that because in the past on the strafe keyboards their logo was only on the top left hand side and it was it also was backlit but it was underneath the keyboard it was very very dull so now again you have full RGB control on the top middle and on the original we didn't

have dedicated media keys but now thankfully we do it's the same media keys you would find on the K 70 mark 2 as well as Aki 95 platinum so you had that nice aluminum scrolling wheel your mute your pause your playback all that good stuff and in terms of construction the original strafe RGB was an entirely plastic body but now they kind of mix it up because while a body itself is still plastic behold on top of the keyboard here is pretty much the exact same as the newer ones with the k7e so you get a plastic body for the strafe RGB mark - but the entire top is gonna be that nice aluminum finish to really help make the entire body of the keyboard more rugged in terms of switch types we are limited here so we don't get that full by an amp like we do with the K 70 mark - but in the Streif mark - you can either get it in red or those silent switches so you are limited and I'll do a sound test of those Thailand switches that you can get but again it's gonna be on my older strafe but same switch pretty much so those are all

the new changes in the mark 2 series and the kind of recap for you guys real quick remember you can also check out my dedicated review of the older keyboards if you want to get the whole gist of the keyboard itself but it's for the new changes in the K 70 mark - you have hardware playback the backlit logo plus all the switch types and that entirely different aluminum and white keyboard which looks great and then in the strafe RGB mark - you have the aluminum top plate on the top of the keyboard + hardware playback and the aluminum scrolling wheel immediate keys and stuff like that so those are all the new changes if you want to check any of them out I will have them listed for you in the description down below

Corsair K70 RGB MK.2 RAPIDFIRE Mechanical Gaming Keyboard review

coursera be making great mechanical keyboards for a number of years and they've been recently updating a few of the older models like this the K 70 mark - no it's not that much different from the original K 70s if you already have one of those and you're happy with it then you're probably not gonna even look twice at this one but if you're looking for a new gaming keyboard this is a pretty interesting entry in the world of not ridiculously expensive but not you know budget mechanical gaming keyboards so the first thing that you will notice when you get out of the box and plug it in is the massive amount of RGB it's individually addressable LEDs on each key obviously RGB that which you can control in the Corsair IQ software and otherwise you have a pretty overall nice aesthetic the key camps are these standard ones that come with pretty pretty much any keyboard air course a keyboard which means that you can use for example the white key cap set that I looked at a while ago for the keyboard if you fancy

and obviously change up the static a little bit but otherwise they are so semi-transparent on the keys themselves so your RGB light does shine through a little bit so in terms of the key switches themselves they come in a variety of key switch types in my case I've got Cherry MX browns which is the key switch type I prefer personally feel free to take a look on the different websites to make sure you get the right key switch for you on top of the keyboard and next to the rather thick USB braided cable is a USB type a port this is a full pass through which means that the actual USB cable itself does have two full type-a headers on them so you can plug those in and get full speed and full data rate and everything like that through the pass through the keyboard is actually relatively small compared to a lot of the other kind of high-end mechanical

keyboards at the k95 there's no added switches on this in terms of like macro functionality but they do have a few extra buttons which are quite nice you still have the metal volume slider so a scroll wheel type thing which is actually very nice quality and very smooth to roll on as well as the mute button and full meteor keys just below that as well and you do have a couple of extra buttons including your lighting button I believe profile switching button as well as a one but the rest of the keyboard layout is pretty standard it is a standard at least in my case a UK iso layout which I'm perfectly happy with obviously in your region it may be slightly different and obviously if you have Dvorak or whatever other kind of key patterns that will be available on your region but for me I'm pretty happy with this overall layout the only thing I'd mentioned though is that it seems like the spacing between the switch is a little bit wider than I'm used to which means that the typing experience isn't quite as nice as my color master master keys Pro

out and of course this is a subjective thing the overall typing experience was still quite nice and of course it will depend on the key switch and also stuff but for me personally I'm not the biggest fan of this typing position and kind of I guess which for a keycap feel but again it's don't a personal preference and I know that a lot of people do enjoy this so take you take that opinion with a bit of salt now you do also get an attachable wrist rest at the bottom and this is a kind of strange design it's a it's a horrid plastic but it's got a soft touch coating all over it which makes it not kind of anyway supple for your hand to rest on is definitely very firm but at the same time still has a relatively nice feel to it so it's quite a nice balance no personally I prefer to have a detachable wrist rest for more convenience and where I put my hand but it's nice that this one comes included with one at all on the back of the keyboard you have a couple of cable

management options for routing well your cables mostly it's a bit of a strange position because of cross pattern in the center so I'm not really sure what wires you tend to have coming out of the bottom of your keyboard but either way it's there if you want and you do have large rubber feet on the bottom and the top as well as two from so flick out little feet with rubber tips as well I had no issues with stability for the keyboard typing on it was a you know plenty firm experience and even without the wrist rest it was still a plenty for experience so if you do pick this up I'm fairly certain that you're gonna have a decent time at least with it sticking of the tape we'll just fight there is actually one more accessory that comes in the box and that is your gaming kind of style key caps and the key puller this as I said are there more gaming style something that course I've been doing for a fairly long time with their mechanical gaming

keyboards and it's pretty cool obviously they're a bit more sofas to game styled so there are a can a gray finish on top with this sort of full a stamped aluminium kind of feel to them so a bit more tactile there also it could have grooved a little bit more for things like WS these your finger so sit in them rest nicely and otherwise it is kind of an interesting experience if you're planning on doing a lot of typing on this though I'd probably stick with a standard keycaps now of course this is a gaming keyboard after all so what is it like to game on well I'm actually pretty happy to recommend it here it is a decent experience obviously with the key space distances and the overall feel of the keyboard it's still not my personal favorite experience but it is plenty serviceable and as I said earlier take that opinion with a pinch of salt because again it's my personal opinion and my personal experience but it's still pretty decent and I'd be

happy to overall recommend it so do I recommend the K 17 mark - well generally speaking yes you do pay a little bit of course there tax and it is a bit more expensive than I guess you might like for this sort of keyboard but at the same time it's still a relatively decent device money at least when you're considering the brand-name keyboards anyway and it's still obviously depending on the key switches that you get a pretty decent typing experience overall it's obviously very sturdy I expect these to last I get them at a time because they are built really rather well and otherwise that it has a few nice extra features obviously the RGB if you fancy that the dedicated media controls and the full USB pass-through of course the real question here is will I be putting this keyboard on my desk and personally I'm gonna say no here it's not really because it's a bad keyboard it's just not my personal preference and I personally feel that the Keele master master keys profile is a little bit of a nicer experience for me and I'm perfectly happy with it where it is so that shall be where it stays now of course I do still recommend this I

would happily give this a Gold Award so feel free to check it out in the link in description down below if you're interested in picking one up or if you're just interested check out the price when and where you wash this so you've heard my thoughts I would love to hear yours in the comments down below is this a keyboard you're interested in is the RGB a bit too much or they're just not enough RGB here let me know in the comments down below I'd love to hear from you and of course if you have any questions about the keyboard as well feel free to leave them down there too otherwise if you want to support this page and keeping making these reviews on Wednesday referred a bassist and feel free to that subscribe button for new reviews
