this is the Noctua in H D 15 product showcase slash review and we're here we're pinning it up against 7740 X one of the warmest CPUs on the market and this is the Cadillac no the Maybach Barse no the Bentley rolls-royce of CPU coolers man this is gonna be awesome so let's see can we get to 5.2 gigahertz on a 17 740 with a Noctua air cooler cue the intro we're gonna find out oh yeah so for those of you that have been around my site you know for a while you know I've played with this before if you're new here hi stick around we're in talks you know thermals

we're do some things and some stuff should be fun but I've had this on the test bench before and another this different test bench obviously this is brand new I just made this this is awesome this is somebody constructed out of a case that I used to have kicking around here if you can guess which case comments below I'd love to know what you think but yeah it's freaking awesome test bench that's for sure very expensive one so yeah we're gonna see because I've tested this before with a tech pump style AIO I did for you well 5.2 gigahertz you know

another video here boom look I'm talking about things and stuff so yeah Here I am I'm testing it and that's a push-pull you know for fanned monster and I'm getting it up to five point two gigahertz there and then we launch Cinebench now for you homies out there that hey you know what that's not stable 5.2 you're bad at overclocking this is for you know extreme testing purposes you could not run this fi point two especially without deleting it in a normal case but for fun for kicking around an old Cinebench score or high you know on a fork or a thread CPU

we're gonna see here it gets up pretty warm there and pretty the cinnamon scores pretty good we're gonna do some you know comparative testing see can the Noctua keep up with the i L I suspect it might it's pretty cool but yeah as far as an actual goes if you've ever opened one it's amazing experience okay now this is actually an AM four rise in version of this cooler I just happen to have all the hardware necessary to mount it to just about anything so I got it mounted on this because I wanted to tested it with the hottest CPU possible and Rison might

not be the opportunity I also just did some thread Ripper videos where the Noctua did a really good job with a giant coal plate of getting some good temps on that but we see here 91 87 88 getting up pretty high there near 90 degrees 1111 Cinebench score it'll actually do better than that but hey let's just pause that here we'll just you know do a quick check 91-87 88-91 you know 5.2 gigahertz 1111 centimeter square it actually goes around 1125 if you get a good run out of it so I thought we would try and replicate those results with an air cooler should be pretty

fun there so I got it all installed here we got freaking three fans on this now I'm gonna tell you right now this third fan ouch it's not even necessary we're gonna take it off I've tested with both I put another one on there just thinking maybe I might get a little bit better results with it on there but it doesn't do anything with the two fans this this cooler comes with 240 ml fans and they they kick all ass here to keep this thing cool and a supplementary you know byproduct of this cooler working is that a lot of hundred and forty ml air goes rushing past the socket the VRMs the ram where you don't get that with an a i/o and unless you have a really good cooling

setup in your case this is gonna provide you better supplementary cooling to some of the components around your motherboard so keep that in mind we hear this thing really ramped up there I got the fan curve set down you know I know you're gonna have other things you know it's gonna be better for getting in a tight spot around your CPU get some bigger Ram this is gonna be but it right up against a big graphics card if you have one in the in the proper slot there but I had to set the offense io2 get the good performance out of it - but we're gonna

hopefully see here a nice old score of around 11 2011 37 boom just knocks the score out of the park there but what were the temps well there's some high temps I guess a it's actually surprising that this is able to run this well considering we're near 100 degrees on this package their night while 90 degrees yeah 100 degrees on the package is pretty crazy 96 so we're anywhere between three and five degrees worse than the AIO but it is providing a rush of cool air around the components thus maybe equalizing some of the difference in I'm not sure but it completes the test so that's freaking awesome the Noctua NHD 15 is a solid buy if you have

room in your case and you know it is expensive you have the money but it can get the max out of a chip especially if you put it in the proper case I realize this is a not than ideal situation and I think this chip would be fine to run a 5 gigahertz dish on a day to day basis but 5.2 I'm pushing the limits here I wouldn't run I 264 prime95 on this it would shut off almost probably within like 3 or 4 minutes there's there's no way I would do any better than that but for a quick jaunt to Cinebench how is it fun to get you know core i7 up to its max limits and that's probably one of the best scores you're gonna see out of a KB like X part that has only four cores .

Noctua NH-D15, Premium CPU Cooler with 2x NF-A15 PWM 140mm Fans (Brown) review

the NHD 15 this is noctus latest rendition of high performance air cooling the NHD 15 is here to deliver maximum cooling performance with very little noise production so let's test it out get it installed and see if it meets your high performance needs hey what's up guys the NHD 15 is a massive cooler guys here to bring maximum and efficient air cooling performance it stands at a total height of a hundred and sixty-five

millimeters with the fans installed but be sure to check your K specifications to see if the height will still fit in your rig since the core is gonna be getting pretty close to the glass or side panel of your case both of heat pipes and contact plate art nickel plated copper with six keet pipes running through we've got 2nf a 15 140 millimeter high performance fans with a max rpm of 1,500 it's also good to know that their support for a m4 and LGA 1151 and don't forget the accessories box is packed with a fan splitter thermal paste instruction set and mounting accessories all of which are crafted with very very high quality let's go over what the clearance

is like with this cooler yeah it's a massive cooler but it offers some flexibility for installation the aluminum fins have a cutout for extra clearance on the bottom with both fans installed the fan hovering over the RAM slots has a clearance of 32 millimeters you can move the fan further up if you like but you'll need to check the high clearance for your case first before doing that if it's not gonna work out for you leave off the fan in the front for single fan mode sure you won't get the same cooling performance but it will be more silent option for better RAM clearance as well

so like I said earlier you have some flexible options to best suit your needs the installation process on this cooler is absolutely fantastic it's easy to follow and it doesn't take hours to install some tiny mounting accessory first I would recommend removing the GPU if it's already installed just to give you proper hand clearance I'm going to demonstrate LGA 1151 installation which starts off by inserting the provided backplate into the back of the motherboard and make sure the notch match up to the screw on the back of the socket next slide on the plastic spacers then placed a mounting bracket onto the spacers and screw on the

caps to hold them into place once both brackets are secured into place you're ready to apply thermal paste and mount the cooler keep in mind of the orientation of the brackets for either vertical installation or horizontal installation the last thing you need to do is remove the cooler of all the fans and align the screw pins on the brackets with the cooler mounting screws and screw into place make sure to only screw down each side a little bit at a time just to make sure you have equal placement of pressure also you keep screwing down the cooler until the screw

doesn't turn anymore it this way you know the screws bottom it out and you have full contact onto the CPU IHS or for simpler terms the CPU surface installation process is very easy especially for such a massive cooler I absolutely love this installation process performance is phenomenal with this cooler these are my results for the air coolers I tested alongside the dark rock pro 4 from be quiet NHD 15 is the coolest on the list at the stock fan curve and max fan curve with a temp of 44 degrees Celsius over ambient anti stock fan settings the NHD 15 only

produced 41.8 decibels a total system noise add a stock fan curve then HD 15 was at a minimum two degrees celsius cooler than the dark rock pro 4 at bold fan curves at the max fan curve setting the NHD 15 is slightly louder at 45 point 1 decibels but still provides the best performance among the other air coolers I have on-hand the NHD 15 covers almost every front there is when it comes to air cooling mounting flexibility easy installation process high performance cooling and noise performance the only nitpick I have with the cooler is aesthetics of course when it comes to performance aesthetics doesn't really matter but a lot of components

have been making aesthetics a priority over the last couple of years as well alternatively Nakhla is starting to offer some color options to the market with their chrome axe line which includes color specific aesthetics for both fans and air cooler so keep an eye out for that this is a air cooler but very much worth the money for the top-tier air cooling performance that you get with it there's a six year warranty and no worries about leaks or spills or pump failures of any kind so for those of you who are comforted by that fact alongside the other list of things is cooler does well the NHD 15 will certainly be worth check out of the link down in the

description below so are you an air cooling latest or water cooling elitist or maybe you're open to both air cooling and water cooling let me know down in the description below.
