Noctua NH-L9x65, 65mm Premium Low-Profile CPU Cooler (Brown) review
Noctua NH-L9x65, 65mm Premium Low-Profile CPU Cooler (Brown) review
having a look at a very very small Seaview cloth not sure this is the NH L 9 X 65 which is an actual performance enhanced version of the L nan I which was a very very small CPU cooler for Intel platforms they do also make an Intel one I'm not sure why I'm toilets prolly just the L replaced with any simple kind of naming their beer the L man x 65 I've got here actually it's not a very big core but it does feature what I've not chewers found which is probably going to be very very quiet and also does feature for heat pipes as you know he banks are very good at
disappearing heat and I better than just she alumina so yeah it's gonna be very interesting to see how this performs I'm also going to be using this color in my actual gaming PC builds my Mini ITX giving PC builds for 2016 so yeah if you guys want to see this cooler actually used in a built and do for you free you do feel free to check out that review so if i've ever do let's check out this core from not sure auntie out see how it performs CS added as always as for quick unboxing inside the box represented with the accessory box it contains all the usual mature accessories including very solid metal pieces for installations above aimed in in cell platforms
over accessories include the mgh1 thermal compound or a nice adapter metal not into a case version a screwdriver needed for the installation it also found through instruction manuals of which I'll make the cooler look very easy to install on all platforms it supports with AMD platforms and Intel's LGA 2011 platform including only a few steps making a school look like child's play to install onto a forever look at the unit the coolest dimensions with the fan attached a 95 by 95 millimeters with the Hank beam 65 millimeters hence the name these dimensions
make this extremely small a very small amount higher than the Intel stock cooler making it cool a very Eddy of people want install in cases of very little cooler clearance as for the way it comes in at 413 grams including the fan these Inc features a tightly packed Finn stack with four six millimeter copper heat pipe is passing through the heatsink on the bottom of the cooler you found a somewhat reflective shiny bit and they follow me will be easy to remove thermal compound in the future these Inc has been following the couplet of and therefore has a silver color throughout and looks pretty damn good as to the fan included is the NF n an X 14 a 14
millimeter thick 90 millimeter fan this is at just of the heatsink with two metal clips and brown rubber dampeners they have um written for this fan is between 500 to 2200 rpm with the fans rpm having the potential to be limited to 1700 rpm max with the RC 9 low noise adapter moving on to the installation of this color on to my test work you want to start off by soldering the included black metal backplate on your board and placing the four washers over the bolts with the Washington place you can place the two mounting bars on top of them and then screw
down the mounting bars with the four thumb screws the last step is to add a little thermal compound I'll spare the manual and scroll down the cooler with the two pre-attached screws overall the school is very easy to install and is like many other of not Jewish colors I've installed in the past finance the performance Cessna score my i7 4790k of all colors locks at 4 gigahertz with the automatic voltage set the NH L 9 x 65 failed to keep the CPU running at a surprisingly cool 66 degrees Celsius this is while of course running my usual benchmark of rendering out there pretty intensive 2016 how to build a gaming PC guide in Adobe Premiere Pro cs6 as to the
performance of the cooler with the low noise adapter attached temperature increase to 69 degrees making this cooler of course not perform as well but the decreased noise levels by a small amount although this cool is definitely not meant for overclocking at all I wanted to see how it fared with my 4 point 4 Giga head 1.25 for overclocked the temperatures record it was a very hot 89 degrees very warm compared to many joules our calls we've tested in the past however a lot better than the two Intel scores which both failed this test at 100 degrees causing CPU to thermal throttle over all those cooler did a fantastic job at keeping the i7 4790k core
does justify the cost we take in consideration of small Malinois use this core does make at stock speeds and our small cooler actually is even when compared to the traditional low profile cooler with a large fan and a horizontal fin stack now let's roll the outer and conclude on the NH L 9 X 65 cooler from nokju so guys oh yeah there are the benchmarks and in general my review of this cooler in general it does perform very very well and I aren't usually pleased with the cooler and for it coming in the UK it's actually not bad and when you
consider the performance of this color compared to some low profile coolers are actually a little bit bigger do just incorporate the be more traditional in stack this coolers not bad it isn't bad at all and I think and when you consider the noise of this fun that not to have strapped to it it's very very good and if anything probably one of the smallest coolers and when you consider the performance you get from it so the performance you're getting when you consider the incredibly small size I think is excellent and one of main reasons that today I will be
recommending it so I guys take you very much should checking out this video on the l9 and you're gonna NH L man x 65 quite a long name beer would I recommend it .
Noctua NH-L9x65, 65mm Premium Low-Profile CPU Cooler (Brown) review
the NHL 965 this is the tower CPU cooler for I would say low profile or SFF build small form-factor builds the thing is it has 65 millimeter clearance well the cooler height is 65 millimeter so that's for a really tight spot as you saw in the past video I did the Loki ghost s1 and this cooler is going into that case we're going to test the temperatures you're going to see the temperatures and everything for Noctua NHL 965 with the for now the Intel Core i5 86 100k after that I'm going to probably advance the processor and get stronger one even though we are talking about
these at 290 board but nevertheless then after that I'm going to test with two smaller thinner thinner sorry not smaller they're still 120 millimeter fans we're going to talk about the nf a 1215 so those are 15 millimeters thickness and they're PWA and we're going to place them also in the Loki goes to s1 but let's start with the unboxing going to show you a bit with the products because I'm really impressed with their packaging without without I mean so here is the accessory box you have the thermal paste you have the this is the small school screwdriver you have the low noise adapter you have the Intel and AMD mounting systems okay that is for the
NHL 965 power cord now oh there we go now it's this is really let me just close this as it was now this is going to be really interesting because look at it it's like a flower opening and this is the cooler guys this is it you have the cover here for the part that touches deep processor IHS and here it is these standard colors of nutria so we have this is brown rubber dampening pads on each side and you have these standards cream color I would say and you have four pipes going through each side of the cooler to transfer the coldness to the processor let's see the I
mean of course it's four pin PWM but it's nicely braided the only way you can see it is here it has four well colored cables and fans here on top is the NF a 9:14 PWM now the specs for the fan our maximum speed is 2500 rpm plus minus 10% and the max rotational speed width DLNA so that is with that cable where is the cable ok here is so my maximum speed with the LM a is seven hundred rpms lower so that's 1,800 plus minus 10 percent then we get to the maximum air flow if the 7.5 cubic meter per hour maximum air flow with the LM a since the RPM is lower than the maximum air flow whether it is a 40 point 8 cubic meter per hour
maximum acoustical noise for this fan have Sam impressed is 23.6 decibels and maximum acoustical noise with the LMA cable is 14.8 so 700 rpm slower you get almost 10 decibels lower the one thing they did mention here they actually wrote it on the box here as some main features D compatibility with high profile Ram there is no problem whatsoever because as you can see it's nice and small it doesn't have any issues with for instance very very high profile Ram like team group Excalibur or something like that it's also very I would say connectivity
accessible so all the connectors that are around the CPU are easily accessed when you place the CPU cooler on the motherboard and also it is compatible with all the graphic cards while PCI Express on the Mini ITX boards I think this is enough information for the introduction of the NHL 965 CPU tower cooler from nakta we're gonna go into testing but first I'm really curious about the fans you can open the fan box from with both sides you can check the crucial specifications here well basically you don't have any fans that have all this specifications so
these are 15 millimeter slim design as already mentioned they have a flow acceleration channels which are some additional channels on the end of the as well as here on the NHL 9 so yeah that is something cool so these flow acceleration channels are used to basically to alter the flow distribution on the suction side of the blades and speed up the air flow so that normal fans apart from the normal fans don't increase the vortex noise and lower airflow efficiency so basically they added more airflow with these flow acceleration channels the things that you get with the fan 2-centimeter extension cable for pin why cable so that splitter you have the low
noise adapter lnaa okay so let's open the fans I think it's already too much talk we have here actually a nice booklet that explains how to connect defense how to actually attach them to the casing cleaning and maintenance warranty connection installation and everything but gonna get that later on so as I mentioned you have the white splitter cable you have the LMA you have the extension cable for pin and you have standard screws and on top of that naa v3 anti vibration mounts that's you basically you know it's it looks funny as it is but when you place it in a small form factor built you just cut the top that you don't need and talking about the slim
design this is it guys this is 15 millimeters slim design fans are looking really sharp as always I think it will look great in the build that I'm doing right now so guys let's go build the case do some testings as some final conclusion ,we have lost objective Charlie basically I'm really impressed with the temperature just because it's a small case and you have to take into consideration that the CPU tower cooler is just pushing the air from this side without any intake standard like a standard case or something like that it's pulling the air inside and directly to the CPU and these two fans are pushing it out so basically battlefield one without
these two fans in addition to pushing the air out the NHL 965 had 65 degrees so Bethel told one medium details adding two more fans we got really nice temperatures 58 to 60 depending on the load and stuff like that but I would say average 59 and then playing battlefield 5 we had average 65 degrees with CPU town color and weight defense which is really incredible and imagine using this instead of a stock cooler stock cooler goes up to 70 80 degrees with this you can lower up to 20 degrees which is really intense and really incredible to be honest I don't think you'll be using the stock cooler on 8600 K or any other that are a bit higher ranked
processors on the intro range but still this is definitely a really nice thing to have and as you can see I'm going to use it constantly with my new small build in low key goes to s1 since this is a nice small cooler low profile it can actually fit in the SFF cases it's really nice with seeing all these temperatures and playing for instance pop G which I didn't record I'm talking about my sessions that I do privately so pop G temperatures aren't going above 67 and I'm saying this after four hours of gameplay in pop G on low to medium settings depending on the details and stuff like that so 65 and then it goes up to 67 after three hours I was playing battlefield right
now four hour and a half so there was lots of game playing loads of stress testing in terms of you know not just playing for 10 minutes and then breaking it up because then it just goes up to certain temperature and then it you just stop it there's no point in that if you play for longer of course temperatures will rise because there's a consistency in the load on the processor so the temperature might rise few degrees even more not that much but you know one two three maybe even four degrees up then playing for an hour or hour and a half giving all the information guys out put all that information down in the description so if you didn't catch
what I was saying you can read everything below in the description about the NH L 965 and in combination with MF a 1215 also I'll put the links below for both the CPU tower cooler and the thin fans I'm saying to infants because they're 15 millimeters thinner well 10 millimeters thinner than standard fans and they are PWM and you have a splitter with each of them I have to say I'm really surprised when I was building my build over here and when I was checking all the cables you get and just incredible.

FeaturesFeatures65mm low profile
Due to its compact heatsink and the 14mm thin NF-A9x14 low profile fan, the NH-L9x65 stands only 65mm tall (the same height as low-profile expansion cards), which makes it ideal for use in compact HTPCs or Small Form Factor cases that offer limited clearance for CPU coolers.
100% RAM compatibility on Intel platforms
The NH-L9x65 has a 95x95mm footprint that complies exactly to the Intel LGA115x socket keep-out zone. This means that it won’t cause issues with chipset coolers and doesn’t overhang the RAM slots, making it fully compatible with tall memory modules.
100% compatibility with PCIe cards on ITX
Many Intel LGA115x based mini-ITX mainboards have the PCIe slot sitting close to the 95x95mm socket zone. While larger coolers that exceed this zone may block the PCIe slot, the 95x95xmm sized NH-L9i provides full compatibility with PCIe cards.
Easy access to near-socket connectors
Many low-profile coolers use larger fans or heatsinks in order to achieve sufficient cooling performance, but protruding over the socket zone, they make it difficult or even impossible to reach near-socket connectors on tightly packed ITX mainboards. Thanks to its 95x95mm footprint, the NH-L9x65 provides easy access to all connectors and components.
NF-A9x14 PWM premium fan
The highly optimised NF-A9x14 premium fan features Noctua’s proprietary AAO frame as well as sophisticated aerodynamic design measures. Supporting PWM for fully automatic speed control, the NF-A9x14 allows the NH-L9x65 to stay remarkably quiet.
