the review for the gigabytes b250 FinTech mining motherboard so stick around alrighty so maybe gigabytes a little late to the game of course we've already had entries from both as rock biostar as well as a sue so I say both but three other motherboard manufacturers that have already jumped into the game for the mining motherboards you can find at least the asrock on my channel here and I haven't had a chance to review the others but maybe we'll get to that at
another time the problem here is that the release for this motherboard appears to be a little too late to the game and by that I mean right now to come out with a mining motherboard for GPUs in particular seems to be a bad time as it's not gonna sell as well as it would have let's say like June of 2017 all the way through January of 2018 now all of that aside people are still mining and there's still plenty of good reasons to keep mining it's just really hard as well to go
ahead and find any GPUs to install in these boards if you do have enough GPUs or you come across you know 12 of them in some sort of mind somewhere that I don't know about like maybe China then you might want to pick one of these up it does support only 12 GPUs with 11 PCIe by one and a single PCIe by 16 slot that by 16 slot does support video out that you can adjust in the BIOS and we'll talk about my glitching screen here in a second the bias is up but
I'm not sure what's going on with that there along with the PCIe slots on the motherboard you're also gonna have two molex power adapters for additional power to those slots now in theory you're going to want to have both those supplied with power from your power supply if you're installing all 12 GPUs however this might not be necessary depending on which GPUs you're using and how much power you're actually drawing as you should be using powered
PCIe risers now as far as CPU support you're gonna want to be looking for cabby lake in Scylla cpu's I do currently have an i3 6100 in there and it came right up so there was no problems with that particular CPU in case you're looking at purchasing one of however I would recommend something along the lines of the G 4400 or G 3932 save some dosh the motherboards gonna require a standard 24-pin power adapter for the CPU as well as an
additional 8 pin power adapter one of the nice things about this motherboard in particular is that it does come shipped with a 3-way power supply splitter out of the box so you can go ahead and hook up up to three power supplies directly to this motherboard without having to worry about going out and purchasing a splitter separately another nice thing is that while it doesn't actually have power or reset on the motherboard itself they do ship it with a little button that
you just plug into the front i/o so the front panel header on the bottom of the motherboard and once you do that you can control the power and reset from the motherboard without having to plug in a separate button so both of the bases covered they're thinking ahead with just shipping some things that you might actually need in the future or ride away without you having to go and find it from another person or retailer now hopping into the BIOS it's gonna be pretty
basic and straightforward now since it's a b250 there's going to be no overclocking support on the CPU itself and there's no real XMP profiles to set that I could see however you can adjust memory timings accordingly to your preference I wouldn't really recommend it anyways because you don't need to the 2133 base speeds going to be fine now as well in the BIOS you are going to pretty much find everything you could need for mining including the 4G decoding
above 4G decoding as well as some of the different speeds for your PCIe rails and of course some power settings now it did take me a little bit to find out where the actual settings were to go ahead and have the motherboard power on when voltage was applied to the motherboard so if you had a power loss that would come back on and actually under power settings it's just called AC back and once I enabled that I went ahead and test and I can show you right here
real quick that if you now go ahead and cut the power off at the power supply from the wall and then power it back on the motherboard will automatically power back on so good feature to have I wanted to make sure it had that for you now there is no end to slot or mSATA slot so you're going to be looking at booting your operating system off either a SATA port or a USB port now the rear i/o does have support for all your basic audio as well as for USB 3.0 slots and
two USB 2.0 slots and of course it's got a good old ps2 slot there you're also gonna have the integrated graphics output which includes both DVI and VGA now I did want to mention funny enough it does come shipped with some LEDs on the motherboard you can turn those off in the BIOS settings .
Gigabyte GA-B250-FinTech LGA1151 Intel Motherboard review
the gigabyte b250 FinTech design for mining this is a twelve GPU motherboard that is going to be quite the competitor for others so let's check it out the b250 FinTech 12 GPU mining board from gigabyte this is finally a motherboard they released 412 GPU support so they picked this number 12 kind of the right way because AMD for example has a blockchain driver that can run 12 GPUs at once you just have to set it to compute
workloads instead of gaming workloads oh as you know Nvidia also supports 12 GPUs at once so that's not a problem - it's also getting some pretty nice tricks up its sleeve because it has a really little power button inside it that you can plug into the motherboard and turn on and off the motherboard on your mining rig but keep in mind the H 110 from ass rock already has that built into the motherboard so that is gonna save them some space and I was like these guys
could have done that too so it's kind of a not improvement on that one okay so the next thing that they surprised me that they put inside the box was a triple power supply adapter so he can hook up three power supplies and stick them into your motherboard and just plug them all in share the load on all three power supplies and you're ready to go make sure to split the load evenly between the power supplies it's just a math to do that but it's pretty simple they are
actually competiting with the b250 from asus this one also has three power supply adapters but these are on the motherboard itself actually that is going to be the next video so stay tuned for that one this be 250 FinTech from gigabyte has LGA 1 151 as socket for your CPU it also has four ddr4 slots on the motherboard so they may have thought in the future we might need to handle more RAM inside mining rigs they might be right on that one but this motherboard is
going to be one of the best ones I've seen so far because the 12 GPU support is actually a really nice number for controlling GPU rigs because 12 is going to be the one with the least issues this is going to be one of them that is gonna reach the top five mining of other boards in my upcoming review.
the b250 FinTech this new motherboard it was near us and just happened to come across it I think for the price it's fantastic and really would recommend it some things I want to show you about this board because it is a little unique and if you're on a budget okay so this is the one they also make this one the same family the be 250m ds3 H this is a it's very durable also but it only has three PCIe slots so and this is if you're
the b250 FinTech this new motherboard it was near us and just happened to come across it I think for the price it's fantastic and really would recommend it some things I want to show you about this board because it is a little unique and if you're on a budget okay so this is the one they also make this one the same family the be 250m ds3 H this is a it's very durable also but it only has three PCIe slots so and this is if you're
on a budget this is a really good board also but today I wanted to show you this board the b250 FinTech and some of the uniqueness and why I really like it the first reason I really like it is the 12 GPU PCIe slots you have a single PCIe one by 16 and all the rest are PCIe one by ones that you see there and we're still building yet and you see so I'm not this is in the system that I plan to ever sell so that's why you see it set up like this on the rack and very open air sitting on
cardboard and you can even see over here I've got you know some GPUs hanging there what this is this comes with it okay normally if you've seen the past I showed you how to do the power buttons and this actually comes with it it slides out and it comes in its own bag in the motherboard box and of course the mother this is powered off right now there but it's a power
on power reset buttons unlike the asrock which has the buttons actually on the board gigabyte provided via this and it goes in to this far side just we slide that in when you need to turn it on you push that button or either one there's two there actually and one thing to notice actually does the LEDs also the ports and the pins that it's connected to is for the power the reset and the LEDs if you wanted those okay but this does come with it another thing that comes with this because they know that you're this board is made for miners it comes with a three and a three
PSU splitter and I've done review for these in the past with the two PS use power supplies that can in connection one motherboard this is three yellow and they actually provided this and comes with it so I thought that was good if you didn't have like for us here I've got a 1600 watt that's powering right now seven GPUs and the motherboard I'm gonna add another I think an 850 to that and just use one of my double once we save this for the future but again it comes
with this three three two one PSU splitter okay another thing I wanted to point out again with this board there's no own board HDMI okay it worked fine for this it even shows much for my fos I've been using that and for when I tried Windows 10 it worked for that also so use this if you want to or if you use that OS they recommend using your one by 16 HDMI but there is no HDMI on board on this one another thing to point out is that it's got similar like the asrock
series it's got these molex connectors here it's got two of them one and two right bicep the buses for the PCIe buses so you have two of them there okay plug those in with your PSU don't use a different PS power supply for both of them you use the same power supply for both of those as you see I'm using a single cable for this and normally I'd try to use different but our power supply didn't allow that become with enough cables so and it really is a very durable board it's
working great for me with just like that but make sure that you do have both plugged in there if you max out I recommend I mean if you know you're gonna max out if you have this board max out use all 12 go ahead and plug it in on both of these to begin with because you're gonna if you are going to max out and again this is a absolutely fantastic where I'm really impressed with it I love that they gave the power button here isn't just a little add-on it's you know we
probably a couple bucks is usually what I pay for my little buttons but it's a little nicer looking and a little more durable and then also it's the 11:51 chipset so everybody has those sitting around I thought that was great I expected the 8th gen on this but it's it is fine it's the 1151 this is a Celeron that's running in there for my fos drive ok so that's really what I wanted to show you today about this this again is the b250 FinTech 12 GPU supported on this motherboard
another note it's a maximum 12 there's not into adaptor slots on it at all so that's it's 12 12 but again I really recommend I've been very happy with this that maybe do a video on the BIOS for it because of the BIOS it has a setting or the UEFI sand as a setting that says mining optimized and then it's just automatically set to enable to begin with but I've played around with the UEFI too much of examine needed to but make sure that if you see any problems with when
you're mining to go into the BIOS and make sure that it is set to enable which is the default so you would have had to change that or if it we came the this board was used then they may have changed it prior to you having it but make sure that you go in that's one of the first things I did was see what do you have 5 settings work and again there's a setting for mining there and that
you EF 5 make sure that's enabled so that it's fully optimized so I'd love to hear some questions let me know what you think of this board also ask me any questions about it and we're gonna do a few more reviews for you coming up I'm gonna do one of the asrock series very soon thanks very much everyone
