one of the first things you're gonna notice about the Strix efore 50 - Jeff Gaming is gonna be the aesthetics the board definitely follows what we've seen now historically for our strict series and our OG series of motherboards features a clean monochromatic color scheme which doesn't contend or compete with the colors you're going to want to be able to define in your build whether that's can be through integrated RGB lighting or whether it's gonna be through

accessories that you're gonna put into your system features a nice smattering of different types of colors and tones whether you talk about black silver or gray on top of that this generation also introduces a subtle cybertek sprint finish that we have on the PCB board which just gives the board a little bit more of an edgy nature addition to this we've also worked out our design team to offer you some flexibility and how you can approach actually the cyber text-based

design on the fch you have the ability to go ahead and swap out the actual cover plate and go for something that adds a little bit of cover and reflectivity but also you can actually go a bit more stealthy and matte black and really the choice is up to you and as always with this being an a su Series motherboard it has full support for issues or a sink now this means you have all the flexibility and control when it comes to RGB lighting so do you want to be able to control and synchronize the integrated RGB lighting zone which is built into the IO shroud that's on

the board or you want to be able to take advantage of the to RGB headers on the motherboard you can easily do that all through the isus or a sync app so if you want to be able to go ahead and control and synchronize everything from graphics cards to memory to SSDs LED strips to fans a lot more this boards gonna have you covered now all every gamer definitely cares about the aesthetics of their build equally is important and especially apparent for this chipset is

going to be the overclocking experience that this motherboard offers the B 450 chipset offers overclocking support for both the CPU as well as for the DRAM and in this regard ace uses our D team have definitely put in a lot of work to be able to offer you a stable and reliable overclocking experience you've got a good quality vrm design with good quality power component tree so you can feel confident when you go about pushing the CPU to higher

frequencies and placing them in under more demanding game loads in addition this you also have a high quality sync designed to be able to ensure stable and cool operation for the vrm once it's under load and beyond all this you also have a wide range of options that are inside the UEFI bios this allows you to go ahead and have a lot of control and granularity to be able to tweak in tune all the different aspects for the CPU and for the dear M without any issues and another new addition that we have to be able to go ahead and provide it even a further

improved overclocking experience even in a mid-range Series board like this is gonna be the inclusion of our pro cool power technology where we use thicker gauge wires implement it in for the CPU power connection to be able to provide better current in power delivery now continuing the theme of overclocking one aspect that a lot of users are definitely concerned about when it comes to AMD Series motherboards is gonna be how easy is going to be the

overall experience when it comes to DRAM overclocking and thankfully whether our series of motherboards you're gonna have an exclusive option it's gonna be called do CP memory profiling this is an option that's built inside the UEFI BIOS which allows you to easily and effectively go ahead and load the actual timings frequency and voltage for your XMP enabled memory and go ahead and automatically apply them in the unified bios so you can go ahead

and maximize the investment that you're making in your DRAM now when it comes to overclocking as we noted the board has a wide range of options for manual tweakers and tuners but there's many of enthusiasts that are out there that might be new to overclocking or don't necessarily want to spend the time or effort to be able to go ahead and get the most out of your rise and second series processor and in this regard you're gonna have a lot of flexibility and a

lot of ease of use if you go ahead and leverage our auto tuning technology which is part of our five-way optimization suite this is a full automatic real time auto overclocking process which will automatically ratchet up the CPUs frequency make adjustments to the actual voltage as well as track the temperature and do it all in real time for you and leave you with a stable and reliable result , now you can't get too far away from talking about overclocking without also talking about cooling and in this respect this tricks be 450f gaming gives you tons of

flexibility and control and connectivity when it comes to cooling your system the board features our fan expert for technology and this is a combination of both hardware firmware and software so across the board whether you're talking about tons of fan connectors that support both three pin and four pin based fans the board's gonna have you covered but more importantly you're gonna have temperature input mappings so that you can have your fans

respond to either the CPU temperature or the GPU temperature you also care about how loud your system is going to be and you can easily go ahead and control all these aspects by using our fan calibration and profiling technology that means that we can automatically figure out what the minimum and the maximum speeds are your fans are through the click of a button in our fan expert force software now when you're talking about a gaming motherboard of course

you have to talk about audio and networking they're really two key cornerstones the overall experience you're gonna have any gaming system and definitely we talk about audio rgp boards are really known for really setting the benchmark and audio designs now this being a strict series board it borrows heavily from our flagship RG series of boards and features our supreme effects audio design what does this mean well you have a full isolated audio section on the

motherboard which helps to go ahead and mitigate any type of noise or interference from surrounding components there's a shielded high quality s2 1220 audio codec which is great in terms of its performance for stereo to channel as well as multi-channel content and it also actually has an improved level of performance specifically for line-in so if you're a streamer or you're somebody that really takes a little bit microphone audio quality a little bit more seriously you're actually going to get a bump up compared to previous generations in terms of the overall

experience but with supreme effects it's not just limited to the audio codec and the shielding and the isolation of that audio codec it's also the inclusion of high quality audio components so you've got audio grade capacitors which have improved tonality and richness to be able to add a warmth to the overall soundstage you also have the inclusion of dual operational amplifiers built onto the board which help to really punch up the overall soundstage improved dynamic range and actually give you higher volume levels and definitely if you take advantage of high

quality headphones you're going to actually be more easily able to drive those headphones for overall a better experience but supreme effects though it's more than just the hardware it's also a combination of the software level of moon in and in this regard we actually also are offering our sonic studio 3 application now this application gives you a lot of flexibility and control when it comes to not only the actual applications that running on your system but also games and even videos or movies on your system because you're gonna have the ability to go ahead and

tailor different types of profiles specific to different games as well as different applications you have the ability to fully customize the entire EQ range and you can prioritize treble bass as well as go ahead and matrix to channel content into multi-channel if you're looking to be able to go ahead and add a higher level of immersion we also offer specialized options to do some post-processing to incoming as well as outgoing audio so if you want to be able to improve your let's

say your audio and teamspeak or discord or whatever you're using in terms of voice chat you also have these options available to you in Sonic studio 3 now as we noted equally as important as the audio experience is gonna be the actual networking experience aarrg boards once again it really set a benchmark in the industry for offering class-leading networking designs and with this Strix board you're gonna have a great implementation you've got an intel gigabit built

onboard which gives you outstanding UDP packet performance and you also have our game first packet priority control software this allows you to go ahead and easily manage all different types of network centric applications so the weather that's going to be your browser whether that's gonna be a game whether that's gonna be a download client whatever might be you can go ahead and prioritize what receives the most bandwidth and the prioritization on your system

you also have a OneTouch option to allow the actual game first application to automatically set prioritization based on what's running in the foreground now all of these features functions that this board brings to the table are great and there's actually quite a number that we still even even noted but definitely at the core of any type of PCI build is going to course be your standard specifications and this boards got you covered in terms of all those key aspects you're gonna have great high performance 4 slots in terms of the ddr4 compatibility you're also going

to be able to have two full by 16 slots and the way the boards actually gonna had been configured it can't support crossfire X based configurations you're also gonna have dual MDOT 2 based implementations which is something that's gonna be rarer on B 450 series motherboards and we've also gone ahead and actually set up PCIe Lane allocations so that if you're looking to be able to run dual m2 and raid configuration by leveraging CPU lanes for the highest-performing nbme raids at setups you're gonna have that option be available to you

on this board now beyond that you've got all the standard specifications you can ask for in terms of six out of six eSports you're gonna have USB 3 Gen 1 as well as USB 3.1 gen2 and also USB type a and type C based connections on board and something I'm really a big fan of on this motherboard is that it leverages our hiring boards and features a fully integrated i/o shield not only does this make the build process just that much easier but actually also improves your

resistance to EMI and ESD helping you have a more reliable system now rounding out the key specifications for those of you they're actually going to be utilizing Rison series processor which actually feature integrated Radeon graphics this motherboard will also feature an HDMI 2.0 compatible out as well as an integrated DisplayPort out allowing you to go and have the highest support in terms of variable refresh as well as resolution support so wrapping things up I think

it's pretty easy to see that if you take a look at all the different aspects of what the Strix before 50 - eff is bringing to the table for those mid-range PC DIY building enthusiasts then you're gonna have pretty much all the different areas that you're really interested in covered whether you're talking about great quality aesthetics overclocking capability cooling in connectivity as well as rich IO specifications and of course improvements in audio networking all the way around this is gonna be a great mid-range serious boards for those of you looking to be able to build a brand new gaming system built on the B 450 series chipset .

ASUS ROG Strix B450-F Gaming Motherboard review

the B 450 gaming motherboard by asus the ROG Strix I also really love building computers and and most of you know that I do guitar review but but today I'm doing a computer build and I thought I would bring you along with me now with my limited setup I'm not actually going to take you through the building process because there are so many videos out there but I'm going to take you through the parts that I'm using for this build and then I'll bring you back once the computer build is complete so let's go through the parts first this is the g.skill

flare X ddr4 modules these are clocked at 3200 megahertz I actually have these in my x4 70 build and they run it advertised speeds and that's also an Acer sport and I'm really happy with that it's not the gaming motherboard like this one is I actually have the prime board but this is the G scale Flair X 30 200 megahertz then we put 16 gigabytes in size for the CPU I had chosen

the risin 5 2606 core 12 thread CPU 3.4 gigahertz base clock with a 3.9 gigahertz boost I am going to be using the stock cooler for this build for our power supply I have chosen the corsair CX 650 watt this is the non modular version in my current pc I do have the semi modular but I think that this non-modular will work just fine for our storage I have chosen the Seagate Barracuda 2 terabyte hard drive I haven't taken out of the anti-static bag yet I don't want any

problems during the build until I have to take it out for our primary drive I have chosen the Western Digital blue 500 gigabyte SSD and my current build I have the 250 gig these drives are wonderful people and I really recommend them for the graphics card and this is a beast this is the ROG Strix GeForce 1060 by asus well there might be some of you wondering why I didn't buy the 16 60 or the r-tx 20 60 and it's basically because we don't need it for the setup we're

using it for and also for the motherboard we are using the ROG sticks before 50 gaming board this board is not being used for gaming it's being used for professional workloads but I do believe that it's gonna work just fine for the case that we're going to use we are using the fantex p400 a non RGB version actually have this in my current build and it is wonderful for a case I can she's recommend this case get your two USB three s on the top at your audio

microphone jacks here's your power button with your HDD led but once the build is complete I will bring you guys back and show you the final product welcome back everyone the computer build is now complete it did take me about three hours to finish this up see that we have our 1060 installed one thing that I was noticing is that there's a tiny little bit of sag on this graphics card but it doesn't look too horrible so I got two of these screws down here holding it over here

and I think that's gonna do just fine for holding it on and the hard drive and the SSD are in the backside where the cable management is so I'm not gonna take that apart now I have already turned this board on installed windows done some performance testing and if there is any of you that have doubts about these before 50 boards and how well they run I would tell you all to never doubt this board this was probably one of the most exciting builds I've ever done so let's go ahead and be ready to turn on the power so as you see there's only RGB up there there's

RGB on the graphics card but there's no RGB until that till the computers turned on so when we go up here and we'll Gary turn it on I like those light indicators see if I can get it as BIOS okay all right so now I'm in the BIOS and I wanted to go in here for a reason the BIOS is version 3003 and I had just updated that today for some of you if you buy this board brand new you're gonna have BIOS version 2605 I recommend that you update that BIOS as soon as you

get the board although some of you might be asking why okay now we're in this area in version 2605 this area where the do CP profile is this area was not in the ez profile on version 2605 you actually had to go into advanced to turn that on and one thing I had noticed with this CPU at least the core voltage was running almost a 1 point 4 volts which I have no clue why Asus was having the core voltage running that high on a 2600 CPU see that we have our two drives here

the SSD and our 2 gigabyte storage let's go back into Advanced Mode see here I got this setup do CP standard I notice on my prime board that this BC LK frequency is actually not included on that board so I'm wondering if that's a feature that's not available on that board which I don't really care about over here you can see that you have all these monitors over here frequency voltage memory set at 3200 megahertz I have heard some complaints on this board

that some people have only been able to get up to 3000 without this crashing after doing the stress test for two hours I had no blue screens whatsoever with this with that memory set that way CPU temperatures do get up to about 68 to 70 degrees on the stock cooler but that is plenty I really like this stealth cooler here in the settings here for your fans I don't recommend that you do anything with these so we didn't make any changes to the BIOS let's uh let's just quit

without saving okay and there you go boot timing on this computer is actually really fast and very impressed so this is the completed built of the ROG Strix be 450f gaming horizon 5 2600 great build guys hope you all have a wonderful day hey guys what's going on today it's been about a day since I been working with this build and I believe there is a few things that I should point out to those who may be interested in this board or may already have this type of build

already again this is the asus rog Strix B 450 gaming motherboard with the risin v 2600 let's go ahead and do a boot test see how fast this thing boots up oops okay so boat timing is actually really quick on here I'm really impressed with that the 500 gigabyte solid state drive really does pack a punch when it comes to speed really impressive in my opinion especially for a AMD build like this okay there's a few things I want to go over with you which some of you may not notice because many reviewers like to monitor voltages temps clock speeds fan speeds and the

most popular one used is hardware monitor by cpuid and let me bring this up for you because there is one notable issue that I noticed this motherboard brings up okay so let's go up to the voltages see here on the 12 volt voltage it's reading at nine point one nine current and the max is nine point nine seven four that my friends is wrong I've tested this out also with hardware info or HW info sixty four and I had a version of a 264 that I also checked this dealt with all three of

them show this same voltage one thing I've been told is that on some motherboards that third-party software does not read the sensors correctly so I had installed the AI suite three and I just recently uninstalled it but I'm not gonna reinstall it right now but and the AI suite that showed my 12 volt rail at eleven point nine zero two two eleven point nine six eight I had also done some troubleshooting to see whether or not if this was a power supply issue and it is not I've tested

three different power supplies well the other two were from working systems and in my ex for seventy board that one reads twelve point zero six eight when I moved that power supply over here it still reads the eleven point nine oh two so I'm wondering if the 12 volt rail might be limited on this motherboard so if any any of you buy this board and use hardware monitor ignore this but it looks like everything else is correct the five volt is correct the three volt is

correct CPU core voltage appears to be correct and all the temperatures appear to be correct now I don't know why the CPU vrm temperature isn't reading but I never really looked that up on other programs so I'm really not gonna worry about that but everything else seems to read correctly so let's get out of here now the other thing I need to go through with you guys is and the BIOS many of you will not like this about this BIOS and I won't be surprised if there have

been many other users of this board who have sent this board back thinking that there was a problem with the motherboard itself so let's reboot it here and let's get into the BIOS okay so in default mode this actually comes up as Advanced Mode but I switched it to where it comes up in easy mode that's a lot better for me one of them one of the main problems I actually have in the BIOS I really hate the performance of the mouse cursor I think Asus could do a lot better

job optimizing performance with use of the mouse but what I'm getting to starting out being in the BIOS the mouse is actually fine it runs good there's no lag but I'm gonna go into the advanced and for some reason in the advanced mode the mouse kind of gets a little bit jerky or laggy I don't know if you can see that but that's obviously a performance issue within the BIOS switching in between menus it kind of gets a little bit worse although it's not too bad or it's not

usable you can actually use it and this is not super bad clicking on settings can be a little bit of a pain because sometimes when you go to click on it the mouse could move on you because it's so sensitive and I don't even see on how you can actually change the sensitivity of the mouse within the UEFI but I can I can go with you all the settings everything is pretty good but the problem occurs once we get into the monitor notice there on the T sensor it starts out at 0 degrees

Celsius in 32 degrees Fahrenheit and then it reads an A then the PC temperature PCH temperature that changed in a hurry I'm pretty sure this is a bios issue because I have watched another review of somebody going through the BIOS back at the initial release bios which had the same exact problem now the problem that we're having is you guys I'll see that I'm moving up and down and there seems to be a tiny glitch with the mouse and that's just me going it up

and down so there's a brief pause in the UEFI in the monitor menu and when I go into well not going to but when I go to use the keyboard I can go up and down see how that pauses that's a that's a slight little bit of a concern to me not that it's affecting anything functionally but this does feel like a BIOS issue since it has had the problem since the initial release BIOS so for those who buy this board and would like to monitor temps in the BIOS I actually do not

recommend being in here unless you want to deal with this slight lag enos now once you leave this menu and go to like the boot menu and this is another thing I have a heck of a time getting out of it but once you get out of it it's fine again it mean it has just the small little bit of lag go to the Advanced tab everything is working fine again so it's only just that menu that gives the problem go back to easy mode still pretty good yeah let's get out of here actually I want to do

something real quick it's going to boat boat configuration postulate I'm a zero seconds and I actually need to go here because I need to go down to the Q fan controls okay I want to change the low limit just six hundred rpms Q fan controls I usually leave those at Auto if anybody knows what this smooth up and down time is put it down in the comments I've actually never heard of that before and right now I have no cases fan configurations that are actually hooked

to the motherboard both of the fans in this fantex case are being controlled by the power supply so they're running at full speed all the time which is actually not too bad profile options will not load there goes so you've got standard silent turbo and manual ok let's go get exit I'll go to Save Changes and then ok to reset so if you can deal with that with the BIOS this is actually not a

bad board it's really stable haven't I've had no bad issues with it I could say so another thing I might do if I get time is I want to record thermals on this board because there have been some reviews done on this board where this board and VRMs and cpu chipset all that gets really hot and I did a test with prime95 and after 20 minutes the CPU got up to 87 degrees Celsius motherboard was up at 66 degrees and the chipset got up to 48 degrees Celsius the

motherboard and the chipset that's acceptable and the CPU temperature wasn't specification but I think these temps could possibly be lowered so the cooler might need an upgrade however I have the same CPU in my x4 70 board and this temps only get up to like 71 degrees Celsius at the max being stress tested and the motherboard only gets up to 41 degrees Celsius so I'm

wondering if it's due to the fact that this board is a little bit lower end the next 470 lower power phases which could make it to where it needs more juice going through the board to ensure good functionality well that's where I'm at right now with this board in this system it's actually very stable once in Windows it's actually survived every stress test I've put through it GPU stress test CPU motherboard vrm seem to be staying at a good level so yeah that's about it when it comes to this motherboard in this system now for CPU I would recommend only going up to

the 2700 if you want to throw a 2700 X in this motherboard I'd suggest you you get adequate cooling for the CPU as well as put a lot of case fans inside your box to keep the motherboard the V RMS and the CPU cool if you want to throw in a 3000 series CPU I'd recommend highest this 3700 X I went and throw a 3,800 X or any of the rise in nine CPUs in this board but for what you're paying for this is a nice board so I hope you all have a great day and God bless you all you .
