some of the features around the headset there's really not a lot going on it's very simple its lightweight overall due to its plastic construction actually the only buttons on this headset are on the bottom of the right ear cup that's where you'll find your volume rocker you just slide that to adjust your ingame volume and that is it for buttons overall the headset is very lightweight it's actually only 275 grams total but again it's through that plastic construction
since it is only you can kind of expect that so it wouldn't be too rough with this and you know stretching it and throwing it around if you're raging out and stuff like that but overall it feels pretty nice when I'm wearing it you can see there's ample padding on top of the headset so it rests nicely on your head there is a lots of a leeway here for adjusting it to make sure that it fits your head the 50 millimeter drivers do you have their very own like HyperX memory phone
they call it on the inside so again also very soft on your ears and they do rotate 90 degrees that your cups do so if you want you lay down flat on your desk or the popular thing now is no putting it around your your neck like this but I think all gaming headsets should have so this one definitely does great addition there the last main thing we're going to talk about before we move on is the microphone I'll do a mic test in a minute but it is very flexible it's like a
gooseneck kind of rubber mic here where you can adjust it however you want which is great if you want to mute them like since that's that the only inline buttons where the volume here all you have to do is tilt it up fully 90 degrees and the microwave muted you put it down you hear a little click and the mic will be unmuted now in terms of sound which is obviously the most important thing about a gaming headset HyperX always comes through and I said in the
beginning with the cloud to being one of my all-time favorites I really can't distinguish a huge sound difference here between the cloud 2 and the cheaper cloud stinger right as you plug it in you won't be met with any shoddy software anything like that to emulate some certain sounds which is great because that way you won't have some unused software on your PC 24/7 slowing it down but it's also doing part that it plugs into your computer's 3.5 millimeter
headphone jack and also if you want to use it with the mic they give you a very long extension cord which has your stereo and your microphone input here so yeah this is not a USB headset which is another reason why you can use it with all the things like I mentioned like the Xbox one ps4 PC your phone the Wii U even its palpable to Wii U the list goes on due to the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack connectivity but since there is no crappy software that means you are going to be getting stereo audio which I prefer 10 times out of 10 over a fake emulated 7.1
or even a 5.1 fake surround sound experience with these HyperX drivers the stereo audio you are getting is hands-down one of the best I have heard it's really hard to stress how much of a great deal this is considering you're spending less than a video game I've been playing a lot of battlefield 4 recently to get pumped for battlefield one coming out soon and the directional audio in these is superb meaning you can pinpoint footsteps of ever direction they're in which is a necessity nowadays in your gaming headset that's all do part two their stereo
drivers on the inside when you're shooting like you can feel and hear the reverb in the barrel of the gun just I was so surprised at how good these actually sound with matter what game I'm playing and I'm gonna actually say I want to call a Logitech here because this headset sounds miles better than the Artemis 933 whatever was I reviewed a few months ago oh that headset I would pick this every time then before we kind of wrap it up I'll give you guys the mic test right now so you can hear how it sounds and it is adjustable like I said you
kind of move it to where you want to be in front of your voice and I did hear it in the past in my very own mic test so I could hear how it sounded this and again it's kind of what I expected for I've heard a lot better and I've heard a lot worse but not necessarily and a headset around this price point I think if you're just playing games talking your friends online with you know like Steam chat or anything like that it'll be just fine maybe if you're even like live-streaming it'll be okay I won't necessarily use it for doing voiceovers on YouTube or anything
like that you should be using an external mic as it is but just for something like this casually talking to your friends it'll be more than just fine and it's what I would kind of expect for price headset so to wrap this up with some quick pros and cons I'm going to say hands down for this is one of the best headsets you can buy out there if you're in the market to pick up a new gaming headset or if you're on a budget this is just a no-brainer for only I've heard
headsets out there that are double even triple the price and do not sound anywhere as good as these do HyperX definitely knows they're dealing when it comes to designing and creating a great gaming headset and this has not missed the mark by any means I think the mic on this is going to be more than fine for your your normal just game and chat functions yeah I mean it could be better but I'm not going to complain at all it is very lightweight and it's kind of a
double-edged sword here in terms of the cons because since it is made of plastic if you're very rough and not careful with your things it could break or crack over time and the last comment I'll mention which is definitely a stretch I would have liked a little bit more padding on the ears for most people it'll be just fine but I'm just used to a lot of padding on some of the headphones that I'd use in the past like my Edition X headphones I've been using recently so it's going to be
more than fine for most people I just would have liked to have a little bit more padding definitely a stretch I know but guys you cannot go wrong here so one of the best headsets you can get if you're on a budget and I highly recommend it so guys I don't do it my review of the HyperX cloud stinger .
a headset review in the headset we have today is when you guys have been requesting and that's the HyperX cloud stinger and yes it's the HyperX headset with swivel finally and let me pull you Annie show you I'll be right back with you , all right so real quick what you get in your box obviously you're gonna get the headset right hopefully right I mean you're gonna get a splitter for PC so you can use your mic right there now the cable on the headset is attached so you cannot remove that same with
the mic it is attached neither of them are detachable so anyways alter the headset what did you guys think about the close-ups right there honest opinion leave it down in the comments what you think about it my honest opinion is they look like there's something from the 80s and that's what I get you know what these kind of sharp lines right there and everything I mean they don't look bad don't I'm not saying that they don't look bad or anything but again they just
don't look crisp and just smooth right the sharp lines everything reminds me of some old muscle car from the 80s or something like that you know what I mean again it's not horrible but I don't know it just looks a little goofy in my opinion so let's let's go let's start off with comfort and build right now as you can see you saw in the close-ups right there they use those little uh pleather ear cups right there but then he have really really nice and soft yes of course
your ears can get a little spicy in here cuz they're all the pleather all the way around even on the inside right there but again it's pretty stinking cozy as well as the top you can see you got plenty of padding up there and there's not much clamping force like when you put them on your head I mean they feel pretty nice like very nice honestly you almost forget they're on your head there they're so nice you know the only thing that's gonna remind you that during your net is the your sweaty ears and yes like I stayed in beginning this HyperX headset does have swivel any
ear cups finally boy I wish they would put this in like their alphas and their clouds and everything this makes such a huge difference especially for me because again and also these guys are so lightweight very very lightweight so seriously when you put them on your head BAM to conform right to your head shape they slide to the back not too much pressure on the front it's just the pressure is just perfect right around your entire ears not pressing one spot too much very very comfortable alright so let's go on and talk about build and yes the headset is
99% plastic but your metal supports right here in the ears where you extend them from as you can hear and there's little notches for you to just it and those notches in there are plastic as well but you have that metal support right there but honestly talking about it being 99% plastic it feels durable it doesn't feel chintzy by any means feels like a pretty solid plastic and the cool thing I like about is going back to that swivel and everything like you know guys know I kind of took up my headsets and do that whole stress test and everything it's real cool because again
this is where that swivel comes into play like I try to do the stress test and just bend it but I just started swiveling so just think about that whenever you set it down or whatever head shape you're putting on it it's not gonna be one steady pressure point right there because again you got all that movement with this and a headset now going a little further in to build in the features and whatnot again talking about that wire like I spoke about and again it is attached to the headset but it feels really nice again I don't ever really get tangled up because it kind of has
that little rubber feel so it never drops down it kind of bounces back into shape right there now as you can see your volume adjustment is right on the back of the ear cup here and it's not a wheel it's just a little slider as you can see right there and that might be one thing I don't like because honestly with the wheel I get that very slight mild adjustment right there I feel like this one I'm gonna adjust it no matter what I get a pretty massive adjustment so that maybe just be me but again I prefer wheel over to slider and I noticed once or twice again it's not a big deal
maybe just a chair I'm sitting is a gaming chair with a little pillow and everything and whatever I'm sitting back with it and if I leaned back so my neck is kind of leaning on the pillow it tended to move that slider sometimes again maybe it's just the way I was sitting but it did happen to me a few times alright now let's go talk about the mic and we're gonna do a mic test here shortly as well but anyways the mic like I said it is attached right there it does not come off and
listen hear do you hear that little click that's when it goes muted and then it's active so I kind of really like that cuz there's nothing that lights up or nothing I really let you know but you do hear that click even when you're in game and you just you really notice that click even through the headset which I really really like and as you saw any headset right there it does tell you right there swing up to mute so so you obviously know hey that's how it does mute but the mics nice there's a nice distance right there but the Flex is kind of like look at that like I'm trying to
bend it down BAM goes right back up bend it back right there and bam it goes up so it kind of just holds that little bit of flex it bounces but again that's plenty of flex cuz when you put it on your head and you get let's make that a little bigger and you get it right here you so flexes plenty close for you yeah you know what I mean but again it doesn't really hold a very tight firm flex there look at the mic right there and look that little slot do you guys see the little tiny
bit of cloth in there you it might be so hard for you guys to see but anyways just a little bit of like cloth I'm not sure what it is in it but you can see it's a little bit of cloth and then again through these holes right here and it's almost like they have a built-in windscreen in it because that's when I'm the mic test you didn't get these peas and T's and all this stuff it sounded really really good and again when I started looking at the mic and I saw the dinner I said wow that is
a really really cool touch hey let me bring your hand do a quick mic test alright so we are now using the mic on the headset and while we're doing this little quick mic test let me show you the headset on Amazon and as you see right now they're coming in at eighty seven they can always find these guys on sale for around a mark but even again at that range I think they're pretty stinkin good and this mic test right here I honestly think the mics are pretty stinkin good as well alright so what did you guys think about that mic test me
personally I think it's pretty stinking good again you're talking around a headset every now and then Wow really really awesome alright so I think we get a pass on comfort 100% we gonna pass on build in durability I think they're pretty stinking good but how about sound so its first sound I kind of got a mixed opinion here right now this is that does use 50 millimeter drivers I know a lot of people like wow this price range 50 millimeter drivers
you know what I mean but you really got to work with those and bounce those out to make them really perform and shine you know in this headsets frequency range is 18 to 23,000 I believe and most headsets in this price range are usually 20 to 20 now the lower number is your base and the higher number is your highs and now what I'm saying as far as a 50 millimeter drivers where you really need to work with them to make them shine I tested this headset
across every device on an antenna switch Xbox one PlayStation 4 and the PC and they sent it good again where I'm saying is the highs were very high and I'm usually one that really likes my highs to be a little more out there rather than my base but again I felt like there wasn't much bass at all it was more or less mids if you catch my drift it wasn't muddy by any means maybe it's just because those highs were taking over so much I was playing a lot of force on the
Xbox let me tell you what they got loud really loud I had to turn them down you know they have that for them but again the highs were just God they were so just screech II and there was just no thump whatsoever I'm not look for some head-shaking vase here by any means but I want something I want to hear it you know like I'd hit a brick wall or something is like you know it there's no base or crumble or Rumble or anything it's just like you know I stepped on a
plastic cup that's what it sounded like and what I'm saying it sound like you stepped on a plastic cup or something like that it's not saying there was no base whatsoever again in my opinion it felt like the base was more overdone mids if you catch my drift like there wasn't any really low end it was all that mid right there and then the highs and is that just because the highs were taking everything over I'm not too sure but again it was really lacking that base it
felt like all of the base was just mids and again it wasn't bad you know we go back to this price range you talk and a lot of headsets around this price range you kind of get the opposite you know what I mean you get a little bit too much bass or too much mids and it ends up being a little bit muddy when this guy has too many highs it's good it's just weird it's very
different but again just keep that soundstage in mind you know what I was really curious about maybe you forgot like some sort of little amp on your desk or something plug them in with this maybe they'll really be able to shine that way I don't know i don't i wasn't able to try that but i'm really curious about that that might be a pretty cool try sold on all the HyperX cloud
stingers my opinion I really liked it I really really do and again I caught up at the discounted price of you know so if you catch them at that price I don't think you're gonna go wrong at all I still think like you're getting a winner right here this is one of the upper tier head says I have tested and I really really like them again across comfort build the value the mic is stinking awesome again the soundstage was just different I'll put it there I would
have liked a little more low-end and for that to be balanced out right there but again maybe if you're looking for that really high pitched and you just catch those footsteps and stuff hey this might be the right thing for you hey let me know down in the comments what you think about the HyperX stingers do you like them have you picked them up what do you think about them
again I really think we got a win on our hands here.
HyperX Cloud Stinger - Gaming Headset – Comfortable HyperX Signature Memory Foam
today I'm looking at the extremely popular HyperX cloud stinger gaming headset the HyperX cloud stinger is by far one of the most popular gaming headsets on the market the cloud stinger was designed to be a gaming headset and will work just fine with your Xbox PS or week but it also works perfectly well with PCs Macs smartphones and even a camera with a 3.5 millimeter input the headsets body is made from the semi-gloss hard plastic it actually seems prettydurable especially considering that this is a headset it has a flip-down noise cancelling microphone mounted to its left ear cup flipping the microphone all the way up produces this audible click and mute your mics completely flipping it back down turns the mic back on great for when you need to quickly mute your mic audio the mic boom is also flexible and stays exactly where you position it for the best recording quality it's recommended that you keep it as close to your mouth as possible while keeping it out of your nasal airstream more about the
mics quality in a minute the headphones have these large and nicely padded ear cups which was surprisingly comfortable even when compared to my audio technica ath m20x which is itself a pretty comfy set of headphones the headband is adjustable and is nicely padded on top which makes these headphones nice and comfy to wear even over a really long gaming session on the bottom edge of the right ear cup is a volume adjustment slider which lets you adjust your
headphone volume this slider is really useful and it's very well positioned so you can adjust your volume on-the-fly when it comes to the headphones audio quality I was very very impressed I tested it with both music and dialogues and I came away pleasantly surprised the headphones sound really good even when compared to more expensive audio Technica's in fact I'd even buy the headset just for the headphones when it comes to hooking up the cloud stinger
to your gaming device computer phone or camera you have two options for devices like phones that I have a single mic and headphone jack you have a single three foot long 3.5 millimeter cable that's directly connected to the headset and if your device has separate mic and headphone jacks the headset comes with a five foot long extension splitter cable that splits the audio out into a mic and headphone input and in case you have a device that doesn't have a mic input you can use USB soundcard like this one to connect the headset to your computer I'll
leave a link to this USB sound card below in case you need one so how does it sound I'm first going to connect it to my macbook pro using a USB sound card and then test it by connecting it directly to my iPhone se now this might be your first headset and you're probably wondering do I even need a headset why don't I just use the mic on my laptop so I'm going to read you a quote and record it using the built-in mic on my 2015 MacBook Pro so the audio you're hearing right now is from the built-in microphone on the MacBook Pro so I'm going to read you a
passage from Ernest Hemingway's book A Farewell to Arms in the late summer of that year we lived in a house in a village that looked across the river and the plain to the mountains in the bed of the river they were pebbles and boulders dry and white in the Sun and the water was clear and swiftly moving and blue in the channels troops went by the house and down the road and the dust they raised powder the leaves of the trees the trunks of the trees too were dusty
and the leaves fell early that year and we saw the troops marching along the road and the dust rising and leaves stirred by the breeze falling in the soldiers marching and afterwards the road bare and white except for the leaves so the audio you're hearing right now is from the HyperX cloud stinger which is connected to my macbook pro using a USB sound card and I've adjusted the mouthpiece as best as I can to keep it out of my nasal airstream while as close to my mouth
as possible I'm in the relatively quiet room and I'm going to read you the same exact passage in the late summer of that year we lived in a house in a village that looked across the river and the plain to the mountains in the bed of the river there were pebbles and boulders dry and white in the Sun and the water was clear and swiftly moving and blue in the channels troops went by the house and down the road and the Duff they raised powder the leaves of the trees the trunks of
the trees too were dusty and the leaves fell early that year and we saw the troops marching along the road and the dust rising and leaves stirred by the breeze falling and the soldiers marching and afterward the road bare and white except for the leaves and what I'm going to do now is I'm going to keep quiet for a few seconds so you can hear the background noise level that the microphone picks up so I now have the HyperX cloud stinger connected directly to the
iPhone se through B 3.5 millimeter cable and I'm going to read you a passage from Stephen King's book different seasons the most important things are the hardest to say they are the things you get ashamed of because words diminished own words shrink things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out but it's more than that isn't it the most important things lie too close to wherever your secret heart
is buried like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away and you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way not understanding what you've said at all or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while you were saying it that's the worst I think when the secret stays locked within not for want of a teller but for want of an understanding here so what I found during my test is that
the sound quality from the headset mic was absolutely amazing the audio quality is just much better than what you would expect from any headset very clear and full bodied audio with very little background noise another thing I noticed was that there seems to be a little less background noise when it's connected directly to a device through the 3.5 millimeter cable the USB sound card does seem to add a little bit of background noise but no matter what
connection you end up using the mics quality is just plain impressive so should you buy the HyperX cloud stinger well I have to admit I'm rarely this impressed by a product especially a product that costs under the HyperX cloud stinger is just amazing value-for-money it's a great set of headphones with a very impressive microphone I definitely recommend it to anyone
who's looking for a decent headset for gaming Skype or even just recording voice over audio it was every penny in fact I'm so impressed by this headset .
