Gaming monitors are the unsung or at least slightly less Sun here as a PC gaming what's the point of building the biggest baddest most RGB Fi gaming beast that plums out hundreds of gorgeous frames for a second if you'll only ever see a handful of them and if there is there's no point if you're running something like a GTX sending UTI along with a monitor that can only handle 1080p and a refresh rate of 60 Hertz you should be tarred and feathered or at the very
least receive a very stern slap on the wrist PC monitor technology has come a long way in the last few years and real innovation can be found almost everywhere and at every price point if you're an enthusiast looking for a display that'll make your RPG games more immersive you'll want to grab a 4k display if you're a pro gamer aspiring to be or just want a competitive edge over your friends there's a lot of reasons to go with the display that sports a high refresh rate if
you'd like the best of both worlds without breaking the bank 1440p resolution anything higher than 120 Hertz should be right in the sweet spot yes gamers are more spoiled for choice in monitors now than ever before and it's a wonderful time to be a PC gamer but your choice in modernity these days also depends on more factors than ever before a major one being whether you're rocking a GPU from the red or green team those on Team green have already received
some love from Asus is our G brand in the form of displays that fully support Nvidia g-sync technology unfortunately AMD fans haven't been so lucky until now the new ROG Strix XJ series of monitors come in various sizes resolutions for fresh grades have a curved radius of 1800 R and best of all they're the first rock branded monitors to support Amy's precinct three monitors are currently in the lineup namely the XG 32 VQ a 32 inch 1440p panel that runs at
144 Hertz it's a 24 point five inch 1080p HD 25/8 VQ which pumps out a massive 240 Hertz and the monitor we got to play around with today the 27 inch 1080p XG 27 VQ that throws 144 Hertz right at your eyeballs all of that sounds super impressive but what's even more impressive is its implementation of glorious RGB the XJ 27 VQ brings gaming to a whole new level single-handedly improving your accuracy in call of duty your level of immersion in the witcher 3 and your chances of scoring a date okay so it doesn't really any of that but the
monitor does feature a pretty cool RGB lit ring on the back of the monitor and a red LED on the bottom of the display that projects the wrong logo onto whatever surface you're working on unfortunately the LED ring doesn't sync up with the rest of your components in your system and isn't really bright enough to illuminate the wall behind it which is a real bummer because that would have been amazing but hey RGB is like pizza even if it isn't perfect it's still good
right right you guys uh Who am I kidding this attempt by Asus to slap RGB on their monitors feels lollygag and hath implemented the under glow LED is only red the base of the monitor is red and then the RGB LEDs on the back don't or a sync or glow that bright it's basically like the LEDs are just there so issues can really say that they're there which is really disappointing apparently there will be implementations on the monitors that are or isn't compatible with the
rest of your system but that's not the case with the xg-20 7vq which makes it all feel like a super gimmick the back area of the monitor with LEDs off with its silver look to it is far more reasonable than the RGB implementation that exists anyways yes the XJ series monitors look just as great as you'd expect from an RG product if you exclude the weird implementation of LEDs though minimalist be warned this is not the display you're looking for the xg-20 7v hue is
similar in design to many ROG products and that makes it one of the best-looking monitors on the market its edges are sharp and curved at the same time it's supported by a ridiculously gay Murray stand and it has an impressively clean and modern look overall annexed Eilish matte gray and red finish means it will always stand out at a LAN party its build quality is also impeccable with the whole thing coming in at a growth rate of nine point nine five kilograms everything feels premium polished and quite sturdy or at least as dirty as plastic can get the
panel itself can be adjusted according to almost any need with ease the screen can be rotated about ninety degrees to each side lowered or lifted to whatever height you prefer and has a fairly generous tilt axis speaking of the panel issues quotes it as being IPS like and that marking in turn isn't wrong the viewing angles on what I assume is a VA panel are fairly good from either the horizontal or vertical extremes with color presentation being as good as you would
need from a gaming monitor if you're the type of person who likes to keep their gaming area relatively non-toxic and organized you'll be happy to learn that the xg-20 7vq comes equipped with nifty cable management options routing cables to and from the display is a joy thanks to a removable cover on the back of the unit and a cutout in the base of the monitor stand with cables meticulously routed and hitted wherever possible the futuristic aesthetic of this monitor really comes into its own now I personally believe the monitor be worthy considering on looks
alone but many of you are probably also interested in how it actually performs so let's get into that as I mentioned earlier the xg-20 7vq is a 1080p monitor that boasts a refresh rate of 144 Hertz people coming from lower refresh rate monitors will notice a massive difference before even firing up a game everything from mouse movements key presses and whatever else you're doing on the desktop feels far more responsive and accurate this improvement naturally
extends itself into games especially competitive games and eSports titles like csgo overwatch and others that rely on fast reactions and since it's a 1080p display you won't need something like an expensive GTR 1080 Vega to fully take advantage of its performance my rx 580 was more than enough to keep the average FPS count in overwatch to around 153 FPS and with the high refresh rate and free sync working together seamlessly it made for some of the smoothest competitive gaming experience I've ever had with no jagged lines no tearing everything crisp
and clean I can't really say whether the 144 Hertz refresh rate improved my in-game performance all that much mostly because I'm pretty terrible at most games but I can definitely see how it could for anybody who's at least competent gamers who want that extra extra little edge should also benefit from the displays on-screen tools such as the crosshair FPS counter and timer which are built into the monitor the display also includes a relatively expansive list of options you can play around with to tailor everything to your particular taste in needs well the
xg-20 7v cues 1080p resolution isn't all that much to write home about at a time where everyone and their grandma are upping their resolutions to 1440p and 4k each game I played on looked remarkably crisp and sharp the 27 inches of real estate subtle yet understated curve and free sync keeping all those pesky frames in check added noticeably to immersion low in games like The Witcher 3 and fallout 4 if you're used to billions of pixels dancing around in
front of your face you'll undoubtedly be slightly turned off by the mere 1080p but then again if they're used to higher resolutions but still want an amazing refresh rate with free sync you'll be better off saving up for the 1440p XD 32 vq or if the 1920 by 1080 resolution is to stretch for you at the 27 inch form factor you could also pick up their XG 25 8v Q and a 24 inch form factor but you'll also be losing the IPS like display and upping the refresh rate to a mind-melting 240 Hertz and then on the topic of price there's a slight premium added to each XG
monitor over its competition the cheapest XG monitor happens to be the one we're reviewing today and it comes in at around 349 dollars in the US with south-african pricing not yet announced it's definitely not the cheapest 1080p 144 hertz 27-inch freesync capable monitor on the market but considering it's one of our G's first Precinct capable monitors it looks great and performs as advertised that's kind of to be expected but I know a lot of you aren't comfortable paying a premium for a product that's objectively better looking it performs marginally better
than the rest but I'd still advise you giving the xg-20 7vq a chance along with everything we've talked about so far the monitor also comes with some sweet features like extra low motion blur which sharpens up moving objects flicker-free technology for reduced eyestrain and a host of others that set it apart from its competition it'll come as a little shock to anyone that 144 Hertz panel is pretty great for gaming but if you're looking for great performance as well as style the rock Strix XG 20 7vq has room covered it's not the perfect monitor for iPhone but for a large
size tending to be high refresh rate AMD monitor you can't really do much better and with that I'm going to wrap it up there what do you guys think of a Seuss's new XG lineup of free sync monitors something you'll consider buying I know I for one I'm glad to see that more options are becoming available in the free sync rage as G sync panels have been pushed out by everyone as of late .
ASUS ROG Strix 27” Curved Gaming Monitor Full HD review
the Asus XG ex-chief 27 V Q so it's a curved wonder from Asus and it looks bloody fantastic and in today's review I'm cooking my freakin thoughts about this matter I'm maybe not gonna go really in depth with the review itself but I'm gonna give you my general thoughts and that this time I'm not gonna use a spreadsheet like next to the camera or something a treat and from that but I'm gonna talk to you about this matter from the top of my head so let's see how it goes
and yeah everybody out there wish you happy holidays Merry Christmas and all stop like that and of course happy new year when that comso 2018 I guess it's gonna be absolutely amazing hopefully for myself and for you too so yeah let's get today's review off here and this take a quick little peek at this mother Adam I'm gonna start talking a little bit more about it you could see the murder itself does look absolutely stunning and the two main thing that I really really love
about this matter is the quality of course it is a 72% mtsc panel but the goal or accuracy is really really viewed and that can be confirmed by a few other youtubers and reviewers out there also now I do have a plan on buying a color calibration too but at the moment I would I what I primarily use to check if the course are accurate or not is well just in here so that's my iPhone so I'm checking colors on my iPhone I'm gonna take one picture on my iPhone and the
other on the monitor and see and try to make the picture as accurate to the iPhone screen because iPhone iPhone screens or the best color accuracy out there and by the fall and yeah I do have the 7 plus check my course but yeah in future videos I'm gonna use the core calibration tool to actually see if all the colors are accurate enough but for this VA value I was really amazed how beautiful the course are and yeah ba files are more about to even maybe go beyond
IPS colors so I mean it's getting really close if it's not even on bar with IPS bounce already so yeah be a balance at moments are looking really good and yeah maybe I am about to you know change my mind about v8 pounds so yeah that's one neat little thing that I really know about this minor now the second thing of or seize the high Hertz so it's a hundred forty four thirds
monitor and it's ideal for gaming but yet the only small thing is that it is not a cheese sink panel it's safe recent panel so if you have AMD Vega or something like that you can use precinct to you know kept team picture a little bit more clearer when gaming although it's not a real major issue the biggest thing is that you have 144 of course the cheese same precinct is like a nice little bonus on top of the monitor like could say like 20% bonus or something like that but it's
definitely not a deal-breaker but then again yet good love to see cheese sink pals more often than piecing because you know AMD's cheap your game is not up to par to this day and now moving on it is a curved martyr so it does have a curved rating of 1800 or so it's a regular curve it's not a really huge curve it's not a really tiny girl it's just the middle point of curves of curvatures it's a really nice curve if you're into those things but me personally I don't feel
anything that special with from girl fighters I don't feel that I I am so immersed thanks to the small curvature I actually actually kind of don't even like curve matters because if you're sitting a little bit off from the center in the picture it gets a little bit distorted so that's why I even prefer actually you know strip flat screens but it is a curved minder and I know a lot of
people out there love girl want yourself that's sitting on this monitor and now the second thing it is a 1080p pal and that might be a deal-breaker for a lot of people because hey the cost of this martyr is in Estonia where I live it's in East Europe it's quite hard it's meet range even going up to range at about twice as much as a regular 144 Hertz a flat-screen monitor so if you're really you really want just the 144 Hertz you can get it about
twice as cheap but you gotta understand this monitor is an absolute stunner of a looker it has some neat options that I'm gonna come to in a second it has a curvature and it smell built from quality components and then yeah overall the picture quality is really really good the color accuracy is great so that's I guess it's gonna bump up the price to this range but yeah definitely for a 27 inch 1080p screen yeah it's kinda it's coming too high it's quite a high
lose people nice to hear but yeah then again the design that's the next thing that I really love about this model and I who is keeps up this this design that they have going on here now it isn't a bezel s screen but the bezel screens that I have seen so far everyone has to smoke black bar on the LCD screen so it's kind of not basalis but yeah this re the overall design is absolutely stunning it does have ISS or a sink on the back of the barrel which you can adjust from the
monitors menu and I don't really understand why we need RGB lighting on a mitre and especially behind the banner and even more so in front of the monitor maybe on the bottom of the model as we see the Aurora logo glowing there but for some odd reason they're only using a iled lighter so you can turn it off and switch the brightness of the course but you can't change the colors it's always going to be red why why was this a necessity because if it would have been
an RGB lighting it wouldn't have made it minder any more costly than it is and if you do love yeah yeah it is a sucess it's rocks color red right but please leave the customer some options to regulate the colors it can be by the for trade was absolutely no problem with it but please don't just make it just red and unable to change it now be how into Mordor we do have a huge RGB ring where you can change the course but you will never see it it isn't as bright as you want it to do be so if you turn off the lights you can't see any course anyway so it's absolutely pointless if
you ask me but the design overall is really really good futuristic lines everywhere and yeah I really love the design of the minor overall and you're coming to the ports I guess it does have an HDMI a DVID and of course a DisplayPort and it's kind of like it it also has an audio port but that's that's kinda 840 boards I mean there's not a lot of port action going on there I definitely would have loved to see two HDMI to DVI and no two HTML to display ports and DVI I really
if you can yeah get it in there maybe VGA also but who the heck uses VGA DVI as a gamer in today's world pretty much nobody I guess but definitely nobody dues-paying for a gaming monitor I would think so but anyway yeah that's about it for the ports now it does have a choice textile a menu bottom behind the screen and there's some other quick many
bottles behind the screen there and the menu itself is really really easy to navigate thanks to the interesting problem and the menu is pretty well built there's a lot of options too I trust your screen and ya been using it for two weeks or so editing videos playing video games watching movies browsing the web and overall experience has been really great the core accuracy is something really really good on this mother so if you're looking for a mother with a really really accurate colors with a low response time it is for ms it's not one ms just one ms is the territory
of TN bounds which have absolutely no core accuracy pretty much and because we almost never talk on TN panel but for ms peril and yeah the Kolar accuracy is really good I mean there's nothing really bad to say about this murder although there are some few nights here and there but I must say the biggest downside is that it's it's it's only a 1080p panel and yeah my overall scoring for this monitor I'm gonna give it an 8 out of 10 so it's a decent score but it
definitely could have been up to those 9 Plus ranges if it will have been a 4k but and maybe some tweaks here and there but a 8 out of 10 is a really good score for the smaller I think and yeah if you're looking for our 27-inch screen with really accurate colors and you really are looking for a motor that also has some design elements going to it on it and is the top of the line I would say maybe definitely yeah look for this matter but if you're tight on cash definitely just go with the cheapest that you can find there's not another huge not a huge game breaker game
breaker flow going on with the really cheap 144 first murders you're just gonna lose like quality of life features like good screen nice design color accuracy and stuff like that so if those things are not important for you then just find the cheapest 144 Hertz monitor out there and go with that but if you do love color accuracy boy design and stuff like that like a curvature on your screens and they've got to take a look at this model.
