AGAINSTA few extraneous features.
the viewsonic XG 2 4:01 24-inch monitor now this my friends is a gaming monitor and it was provided by ple for review to myself and I'm really really excited now you might have seen my unboxing review of this which was a long time ago so it took me a while to get her onto reviewing it but that's because I kept using it so often and so much that I really just felt it became part of what I needed to game or to really work on and that's what I'm going to talk about here today
because I can babble on about how this is just a 1080p monitor it you know it's small 24-inch and it's nothing special but that is exactly what makes it special and it's exactly why it will probably get picked up more often by buyers and shoppers these holidays and in the new year because of it's actually quite attractive price to performance so this monitor goes at ple right now and it boasts to 144 Hertz a refresh rate 1 Ms input lag and it is well 24 inches and it is quite cool looking a little bit of red trim black matte plastic and the color production is
actually pretty nice not something like an IPS monitor but it is pretty good for what it is and it comes with free sync so guys if you have an AMD card this is really the monitor you should really be getting because at 144 Hertz 24 inches you're not going to need very powerful AMD card and until the new AMD cards come out this year as in 2017 so next year maybe recording this just a couple of days before the new year then you will be able to use you know bigger better monitors but for now if you have AMD and are on a budget but want to experience 144
Hertz monitor refresh it this is it so what is it like to use well it is a wall to monitor you can't really go wrong but I felt that at 24 inches it is just right like you go to 27 inches and it's quite large but at 1080p 27 inches it does not look very good so for 1080p24 is perfect you don't see that pixelation like you would with a 27 or even the 32 inch 1080p monitor and there used to be some like that so I think this is a sweet spot and 144 hertz guys you cannot go wrong with high refresh rate absolutely love it beautiful movement fluid and snappy and that's the other thing
that I really realized for a gaming machine like this one this is my wife's at 1080p 144 Hertz it's really easy to push for the GTX 760 inside there so this monitor fits really will and compared to the PG 28 7q over there um 27 8q it's well you know it's almost 2k at 144 Hertz and it is g-sync it just has all sorts of things that really make this computer burn out when using that monitor so you can see it behind it's just sitting there not being used so I used it for a while as as my own monitor then I moved back to my widescreen because of productivity and that's what it lacks in
you can't really be productive on a smaller monitor and it is really for gaming and it stuck to the second gaming computer of you so what I did I said I'll play gaming on it I'll game on it and I played a lot of games that I found to run extremely well at the high refresh rate and not really struggle with the low end gear over here now I also asked the one person who doesn't really have that much experience in technology said my wife she plays games with me and plays the sorts of other little games nothing too big and I said which monitor do you prefer the 27-inch
over there that's 2k or the one over here that's 1080p24 engine she actually said this one and I just thought to myself how is this possible I try to go in a little bit deeper why she prefer this one and to be honest I kind of prefer it to the other ones just bit too much and for low-end gear if I was gaining on my big machine it'd be the other monitor but this one it becomes that budget monitor for a budget build that gets the best out of everything now she said she found that the
mouse flew around better on the monitor and you know as much as I could come out and say all the technical things about how your dpi shoot you know match what you think the speed would be on monitor the smaller monitor and a smaller Mouse speed really meant she was able to reach everything without struggling or the mass being too fast um and also she said that the small monitors just looked a bit better to look at you don't have to move your head around so much and you know what I had that thought to when I got the widescreen now I got used to it
very quickly because I do prefer the more space for working but she's quite right you seeing now you don't have to move your head around as much and it's all there in front of you and your vision with with the widescreen you kind of have to sort of move your head around a little bit and she picked up on it I didn't and that's quite impressive so I guess in conclusion this is a monitor that if you have some pennies squared away and you still on a budget with your
gaming rig and you're not upgrading that to a you know at ten seventy or a nine eighty even this is a perfect monitor for your gaming rig if you want to hit those 144 Hertz refresh rate and still have that nice 1080p quality that you just can't really get on consoles or anything else and cuz the games looked very beautiful on it and I think the price and the performance is really what sells us but I have to point out that people who have a high-end computer will not be
buying this it is for a specific market range and I believe they really hit it quite well with the price to performance I keep repeating that but I think this is a selling point of this monitor so I liked it and I liked it so much there actually I'm going to give it away on a giveaway coming up in the new year gonna post a video about how you can get this monitor and how you can win it and because it's not as big as the chair I might be able to send that to the people anybody in
Australia not just post like the big chair that I'm also going to be giving away the blue one you might have seen a review and an unboxing of those two things are going to be getting given away in the New Year as a you know competition or whichever really excited about it but hopefully the chair will be just Perth and this monitor I'll be able to send it to Australia the chair comes in a big box anyway guys thank you very much for watching this review um look
I'm pretty happy about it again it's on a budget build gaming monitor but it is very nice I actually have to point out that the quality of the build is really really good for a matte plastic that's something a lot of people ask for and we end up getting crappy glossy stuff that gets fingerprints everywhere .
ViewSonic xg-20 401 is one of the very few gaming monitors which provide exceptional performance at a very affordable price and today we're gonna do the blue sonic sexy 24 1 144 hertz gaming monitor so without further ado let's get started this review is brought to you by Shing distribution system they provided me with the review unit of viewsonic XG 24 1 which can be purchased from Shing point which is
their online retail store they are the official distributors of viewsonic in Pakistan covering their official warranties linked to their retail store is in the description below out of the box you get the viewsonic xt 2401 144 Hertz monitor itself a power cord a USB 3.0 type b cable a display port cable and some user manuals and documentation as well at the time of review the viewsonic xt 24 one holds a price tag of forty three thousand five hundred rupees in pakistan
you can purchase this monitor from king point in pakistan link is in the description below starting off with the design the xt 24:01 exudes quality and has nice styling that befits a gaming display everything is covered with hard plastic but the base and upright have thick metal at their cores a little red frame is provided to set the monitor apart from rank-and-file business class screens and more like a gaming monitor full economic adjustments are included with 4.7 inch height 27 degrees tilt 175 degrees swivel and portrait mode when you turn the screen from
side to side the base moves along with it viewsonic has thoughtfully added felt pads to keep the moving parts from scratching your desktop the screens print layer is 3h hardness which is what we see on majority of LCD monitors these days it will reject reflections effectively without reducing the image quality the controls are via push-button and are located underneath the front center bezel the keys click with a quality feel and a reason intuitive you can see that the base is generously sized for stability the upright has a clip-on cable organizer to keep your
desktop tidy and there is no side mounted USB ports unfortunately so you'll find all the xt 24 ones connectivity on the bottom facing jack panel the bottom panel includes two HDMI ports one display port two USB 3.0 type-a ports one USB 3.0 type B port and a speaker output check and by the way everything in this monitor is covered in warranty by Shing point things look pretty clean around the back with a couple of stylish curves that integrate the inputs and the ventilation grille the speakers are rated at 2 watts per speaker like most built-ins but they pump out much more volume than many of the displays I have seen so far the audio is not crisp and
you won't hear much in the way of bass but at least there is some extra decibels whenever you can't use an external sound system headphone users are accommodated by an output on the jack panel so it's a good thing there is a headphone mount on the top of the vertical stand off which is pretty cool thing I have seen in a monitor as it helps you organize your desk if you don't have an exclusive headphone stand the OST has a cool red background which I think fits the XG 24:01 sit role as a gaming display there isn't anything unusual to report here but you
will need to visit a few specific options to enable free sync operation it isn't turned on by default and by the way out of the box the monitor isn't ready for gaming straight away I had to do a couple of tweaks I had to adjust the colors the sharpness and the contrast were seeing a better and crispy display and I wasn't rigidly satisfied with the colors at the end as well might need a bit more time to calibrate the display before I get used to it and of all the OSD options the
display modes are something of most interest in my opinion there are 6 view modes that are correspond to ways task 1 them is called game and that contains seven further presets all more provide various combinations of brightness overdrive and input lag settings the best video and gaming performance was found in standard mod smart sync is something we haven't seen before viewsonic says it automatically selects the best refresh rate response time and the lowest input lag needed in FPS games I'm not sure why I wouldn't simply you choose settings that
gives you the best possible experience and performance and the free sync should eliminate any need to mess with the Refresh settings anymore when I turned it on it engaged the dynamic contrast and reduced or eliminated strange the native and srgb presets are at about the same level of accuracy the outermost points of color are right on the money but thanks to the extra 24 oh ones gamma errors mid-tones and oversaturated and luminance levels are too low in actual content color doesn't look too bad but there is a room for improvement the overall average
error is about 4.9 de and for the testing purpose I used UFO tests multiple frame rates and it showed that the monitor can actually achieve a complete 144 Hertz refresh rate unlike many other monitors up there and this monitor viewsonic xt 24:01 passes the pass mark monitor test as well the only thing that I don't like about this monitor so far is it sort of brightness adjustment it happens when you turn on the black color correction in OSD and it is something I don't like I played csgo epics legends and the division on this monitor and the gameplay is so
buttery smooth that I can't even explain even this review is short in 60fps but the experience in person is something you must try gaming on this much refresh rate with almost no response time and lag has never been so good gaming without freesync is not a big deal if you have a good graphics card or even if you have an Nvidia card you can use precinct as well though it's an a okay let's do a realistic for a while you're getting a full HD display 144 Hertz refresh rate 1 millisecond response time and small features like cable management and
rating waste and what do you say headphone stand and all of that backed up with official three years of already so winding up the things it values to be the top priority as it is for most of us one should consider the merits of her display like XD 24:01 it's one of the best gaming monitors I have seen so far it has superb color accuracy and good enough to burn through the graphics tasks if needed be and it's just as fast and responsive as more expensive monitors the only real
flaw I found in this was its gamma tracking and contrast ratio but that's not sufficient reason to pass it over I think it has excellent image quality and obviously the gaming experience is the main focus and it has excellent and exceptional gaming experience in this price tag so there is nothing particular to complain about this monitor and I think that this is one hell of a gaming monitor with such high refresh rates in this price tag and wants to try 144 Hertz monitor for
games you are never going back to the lower frame rates monitor so in my opinion this is a bang for your buck option here all right what do you want .
ViewSonic XG2401 24 Inch 1080p 1ms 144 Hz Gaming Monitor review
for the gamer looking for high resolutions refresh rates and low response times without blowing the bank I may just have the perfect monitor for your setup coming up next in my review of the viewsonic XG 2400 one gaming monitor so like many of you or even a few of you I've been a longtime customer of you sonic from way back in the clunky CRT days even though we have came a long ways from the heavy boat anchors of yesterday this thing really has some definite girth when it comes to screen real estate so when I heard about the release of the XG gaming
monitor series from viewsonic I knew I had to get my hands on a review sample to give it a try for myself but to be clear this is just a review sample not sponsored not a sponsor review I do not in any way get paid by viewsonic so just so we're clear there but after getting my hands on this I most likely will have to pick one of these up for myself so first let's hop into the unboxing and next we will get into the specs just to show you the pure might and beauty of this monitor you
so thank you for patiently awaiting like a little kid waiting for Christmas but let's get right on into the specs now shall we this is the xg-20 401 full HD LED gaming monitor this is a 24 inch TFT active-matrix LCD with an LED backlight most commonly referred to as a TN LCD panel the difference between IPS panels and TN panels are the TN panels are less expensive and more commonly used in gaming monitors they also commonly have better response times as well this is really needed in a good gaming monitor as you might understand the resolution of this
monitor is a full HD resolution so that's 1920 by 1080 which stands for a full HD if you want to go Q HD or what is known as quad HD that's what q HD stands for then you would need to go to a 2560 by 1440 resolution and even higher yet to go 4k you would want to be looking for something like a 3040 3840 excuse me by 2160 if you wanted to have a 4k resolutions so this is a contrast ratio of 1000 to one view angles are quite nice as well on this display with a hundred and 70 degree horizontal and 160 degree vertical viewing angle which makes it easy to view
from almost any angle if you want a much higher viewing angle but can afford lower response times you need to look for more of an IPS panel the IPS panel provides a lower response time but yet you can get a much higher viewing anger angle or wider viewing angle so this monitor sets atop a visa compatible stand with height and angle adjustments for different positions and to help arrange just the right viewing angle the stand packs a turntable on the bottom so that you're always able to reposition with ease this is really nice because you can turn the monitor
and not have to worry about completely moving things around it just swivels with a very nice ease so that I thought was a pretty pretty good thing to add to a the bottom of a stand as I mentioned before at the beginning of this video viewsonic made the xg-20 401 with perfection in mind for gaming so the one millisecond response time with a hundred and forty four Hertz refresh rate as well as providing compatibility with the AMD freesync technology is really what I think makes this monitor really great if you don't know about the freesync technology by
AMD that's more for where you can get away from screen tearing at high refresh rates so screen tearing is where you get smart effects on your screen and it looks literally like your screen is tearing apart and this always happens or that this can happen at really high refresh rates and during gaming sessions so you want to avoid that get yourself an AMD freesync monitor obviously that's only compatible with AMD graphics cards and such you need to go the
in-video route with your graphics cards which I'm more of a you know have preference more to or toward the nvidia side but the nvidia cards have a technology called g-sync a lot of times g-sync monitors are a little bit higher priced so be mindful of that when you want to try to pick one of those up but again I don't really recommend you having to spend that much unless you are a very avid gamer and you game a lot even playing eSports and some of those things that's probably where you're starting in to get into that spectrum so the panel is also covered with an
anti-glare hard-coding which makes it nice if you're in a place with a lot of light behind you such as a window sunshine and end and things like that also viewsonic didn't really stop short on the premium quality for inputs and outputs this monitor is supporting two HDMI and one DisplayPort for input also two USB 3.0 inputs and one USB 3.0 output and a three-and-a-half millimeter headphone jack as well most importantly there are two two watt speakers on this monitor it comes on the backside more toward the top they're not really high power as you can
imagine at being a 2 watt but it does provide sound so I feel it's a nice feature when you want to take off your headphones maybe you don't have an expensive audio setup for your computer so let's get into a demo of the menu a little right here you guys so press one of the number keys on the bottom if you press the the center up key that's going to bring you to this menu here that gives you the ability to select your different game modes or presets that you might have on that
monitor as well you get up to three different presets you can customize yourself plus the standard out-of-the-box ones that are set for you so you get into this you can set your response times to ultra fast and set those high gaming or set those gaming modes up really high if you want turn on the different black altar ization Zin there to help those blacks look where they don't take over the screen and don't go too dark on the screen as well so the menu here is very simple to use you've got your typical volume controls you've got audio uh different color
controls and and other things as well and if you if you want to get into this screen you have to press the 1 key and that's going to take you in then you get the prompts at the bottom of that screen to either hit 2 4 enter or 1 4 exit and then you navigate up and down through these menus here very easy to use and the next thing is if you press the down key and you're not in a menu that's going to change your input so you go between your two HDMI ports and your DVI port as well and then if you hold down on the one key for a certain period of time just a few
seconds that's going to do the auto resize of your screen so maybe you plugged it in after you turned on your computer and you notice maybe it's offset or something like that you can hold on that and that's going to reset everything for you if you want high resolutions and high refresh rates be sure to use a monitor that supports DisplayPort and also make sure your graphics card or computer is capable of outputting using a DisplayPort however if your PC only supports HDMI you will not be able to support the full 144 Hertz refresh rate this monitor
can provide so displace port supports a higher refresh rate than HDMI but most people do not need to move to DisplayPort for a resolution alone unless you go up to cue HD or 4k so I hoped you liked this video guys if you did hit the like button down below and also if you didn't obviously hit the dislike button so leave some comments down below if you want to see more in future reviews about a particular topic or anything else or even if you have some ideas for future reviews as well check out more on this monitor in the link in the description down below.
