Logitech G600 MMO Gaming Mouse, RGB Backlit review

PROS
Plenty of programmable buttons.
Very well-built design.
Excellent performance; customizable.
CONS
Unsuitable for small hands or fingertip grip.
Large and heavy design.
Stiff cable.

the Logitech g600 wired MMO gaming mouse so let's get started first things first despite it being a gaming mouse I didn't use it for gaming all that much instead I use the buttons as hotkeys to different tools in my productivity software but either way using it in gaming or productivity software doesn't actually matter that much because it is functionally doing the same thing in all software's so with that out of the way let's move on in the Box you get the

mouse and that's it nothing else take a closer look at the mouse it has a braided cable with Velcro cable tie and it is certainly on the larger side and seemingly catered to palm grip it is also built fairly well and uses decent plastic nothing surprising about the build if you're used to any similarly tiered Logitech mouse oh and of course it has customizable RGB lighting now onto the most obvious thing the whole bunch of buttons on the mouse has a total of 20 clickable buttons

including the scroll wheel side clicks and left right in middle clicks oh and this unique ring finger button that you probably will take some time to get used to apart from that there's not much else to note about the physical maybe just the fit but that would vary a lot still depending on your hand size and shape just for reference though for my small hands it was fine after the initial adjustment so no discomfort having said that though while the comfort is fine I'm still

not exactly used to the things like the ring finger button and feeling out which button I'm pressing with my thumb so I think I still need a little bit more time to really get used to those now let's move on to the software this is where all the magic happens first in the Logitech Gaming software you can choose to store the settings inside the mouse or on your computer if you do choose your mouse you do lose out a few features such as apps specific profiles and more complex action assignments apart from that for both internal and PC you have three mouse

modes that you can program differently and you have the ability to customize every single button on Maus and if for some reason 20 button isn't enough you can always use the G shift function which gives you another layer of assignable function for all the buttons now as for what you can assign buttons to do pretty much anything if you choose the PC storage from launching apps to media hotkeys to typing out sentences basically anything you can think of so it can be very powerful depending on how you program it and how you use it on the other hand

though if you decide to store the settings on your mouse the buttons can only be assigned as keystroke or Mouse function so basically unless you're intending to use only basic functions you'd probably want to use the PC storage instead now so far it seems pretty good but not all is perfect there are a few things I did notice though relatively minor in the big picture and possibly only applying to my specific case but I'm still gonna mention it because it was my experience so the first thing I noticed is that I really missed the infinite scroll or the momentum

scroll which is available on a bunch of Logitech Mouse's probably not a big deal for others especially in games because you don't really use that but it's something that I do miss on webpages the second thing is dpi shift function basically it's a button that you press and hold to shift down to a predetermined dpi setting I actually use this dpi shift a lot on a g502 Mouse so having it as an option on g600 was great but unfortunately it's a bit buggy occasionally the DPI

shift will get stuck even after you let go it can easily be fixed by pressing the button again but still it's annoying and it possibly a hindrance in games so now finally the price and conclusion at the time of this recording is listed  on amazon.com and CA respectively I personally think that at this price it's kinda in the middle neither super great

deal nor super bad deal just sitting on the ok section so because of that my conclusion is that if the features of the G 600 fits your needs then it's alright and I don't think it's a bad option

the Logitech g600 MMO gaming mouse this mouse has been turning a lot of heads because it looks like it might be the perfect mouse because it just is awesome in fact this is okay total assign putting the product down this is the first mouse that I'd seen that has tempted me to ditch my Akari laser I know right like I love the Razer Naga but the shape doesn't quite do it for me like that but I love having all the buttons it's great for playing like torchlight or

whatever else I don't actually planning on the most but it's still great for RPGs this the shape looks in pictures I haven't I haven't touched one yet looks like I might just go for it so animal gaming mouse 20 MMO tuned bugs I also love the way Logitech mice track like my g9x is awesome the only reason I use the iqari is because the shape really does it for me but it doesn't have enough buttons pretty stoked on this alright so 200 280 200 dots per inch okay let me point

to mega pixels per second 30 G's maximum acceleration it's like how many G's can you have like a g20 MMO toon button it's a 12 thumb buttons a clickable scroll wheel that tilts dpi and profile switching all pre-configured for all tomorrow and will use right out of the box no drivers required however you'll still benefit from installing drivers intuitive fun panel design it looks really good but I haven't tried it yet total personalization 3 onboard profiles store all your

button assignments tracking information and lighting color settings use them as is or download the optional software to tweak them to perfection G shift and dpi shift activate G shift with the ring finger button doubling the functionality of any thumb button oh cool so you can shift neat okay or set your profile to use the button for dpi shift lowering the sensors dpi for precision moves like for sniping for example crafted for comfort it looks pretty good high precision laser

sensor people swear by optical sensors still but I'm not really that sold ok love the iqari laser I can't think of any reason an optical sensor versus that one intuitive light-up thumb towel made for the way you play so you can actually change the lighting to any color red green blue white or anything in between and let's go ahead and have a look you know the box could have been this big if they didn't have to say so much about how awesome this Mouse is because this is all

we really needed okay no no software included download the latest from Logitech which is good just fine just fine oh wow this is the best sleeping I've seen on the court of a mouse ever like ever like look at this even right out of the box it looks like rope it doesn't have any of that like wired kinkiness to it not really it basically looks like the cord is wrapped in carbon fiber like can you see that can you see how awesome that is I yeah like I was biased already towards this mouse

just because I'm really hoping it's as awesome as I think it is but now it's just sort of making it really hard for me to not just want one okay another thing that I love about Logitech I know their mice are durable I've been using my g9 for a few years now and the feats are still basically like the day I got it they don't wear through at all so again this the g600 has very large very large slippy pads on the bottom all along the top of the mouse all on the bottom of the mouse all

the shape is like sex in your hand but in a good way it's like perfect it's not a huge mouse so if you have smaller hands it's probably gonna work perfect for you as a palm grip you can see I can hold on to that just fine like I can shake my hand around I can hold on to it but without accidentally pressing any buttons except that left click I'm actually pressing that one but I'm not too worried about that none of the I don't have to hold on so tight that I'm gonna accidentally press any of these buttons though that's for sure let's go ahead and peel this off

okay got like kind of a sort of crisis Nanosuit looking pattern on the side here back got you g600 you got all your buttons okay so let me just sort of visualize what these are like so naturally these six are gonna be easy I can tell that much just feeling them so these six at the front here are gonna be easy once you come over these two ridges it becomes very clear which set you're touching and let me just see what am I gonna be able to remove this while operating these or

operating these it requires a bit of a shift so what I'd say is you would want to have sort of these six be your main ones that you use and these ones would be like your backups with the exception of ones like this which you can reach quite easily even without moving just by rolling your thumb back and maybe you know the bottom one's a little bit tougher even this one's pretty easy to feel just because you can you can really this Ridge right here is really the

landmark that you've got so these all curve in well you guys have a look at this from the side they all curve in towards the center which gives you a really good feel for the six and the six and then these are quite sharp as you roll over those so that gives you a really good idea of which one you have your thumb on at any given time it's quite smart the one problem I had with the nagas was that really for me to use them I was only able to feel my way around maybe four or

five of the bottoms easily this one I think I could probably use at least seven to eight of them without any difficulty this one as well is going to be quite easy to get to because of the fact that it's got this this bump on it right here so I'm thinking at least eight nine this is pop man I'm liking this so you got a couple more G buttons here this is that one that can be programmed either as a shift or as a or as a dpi switcher another programmable button here these see I can

reach that like this this one I don't find to be that useful though the g8 I don't think I'd be able to reach that in a game this has a tilt either way that'll obviously be usable middle-click will be usable and the shape of this is very nice your fingers fit in quite easily and the pinky can either sit on the grip here perfectly positioned grip so that you can keep it above the mouse pad if you want or you can let your pinky drag which some people do like to do as well I'm actually going

to get slick to give us the large handed and perspective on this so here is maybe the camera and sort of just maybe give me the give me the nod or the not nod so that's what it looks like in much larger house here here's slicks hand versus my hand suddenly yeah see so we're talking a pretty big difference here that's not a trick of the camera folks anything mail mostly claw grip

yeah okay first see for me I can Palm it what if you fight upon it yeah so that's kind of jokes if you try to palm that your fingertips will be nowhere near the buttons see that so just a couple dates oh yeah it'll be a claw grip for larger handed people and it'll be a fingertip grip for people who have smaller hands or the ladies out there who want to play there you know my little pony

anima or whatever it is the girls girl gamers play I'm just I'm just kidding I'm just kidding I know girl gamers play real games they just aren't watching this channel so I don't have to worry about what they think okay okay okay all right to be clear three percent of my viewers are female so to those three percent I'm sorry thank you for checking out this unboxing and first look at the oh you want me to plug it in right he kept gesturing I wasn't sure like I wasn't

sure what he meant by he could have met like shank someone or you could admit like I don't know I wasn't sure where he was going with that let's go ahead and plug it in and have a look at the lighting effects so I'm expecting it to glow at some point oh yeah that's pretty good look at

that a sigh closer all the colors for you well it's like doing something fantastic actually those are some of the better so there's some of the better color transitions that I've seen as well very very granular

the Logitech g600 Gaming Mouse I don't know about you but I'm pretty picky about my mice it often takes me several tries to find one that I really like if I'm looking to upgrade or replace one that being said I think the g600 is a winner let's take a look but before we begin I just want to say that just like all my other reviews this is a product that I've used every day for over a year it's something I've owned for a while and I think I can speak with a bit of authority on the

subject Logitech g600 shares a lot in common with many of the multi button gaming mice in the market it has all the standard Mouse buttons a left click right click roll up roll down tilt left tilt right and a middle mouse click when you roll the mouse wheel it has a subtle bump as you roll there are also two buttons here that can adjust the DPI setting from the fly these settings can be changed in the Logitech program giving you some flexibility and how you use it for example I

set my DPI to around 800 when playing overwatch but then boost it to about 1700 and just browsing around there are 12 buttons on the side these are initially mapped to the top road number keys in the keyboard that is one through the equal sign these can also be remapped via the Logitech program should you need I've not found that I've needed to as I can usually control key bindings and individual games but the options there if you want the buttons are also

angled and textured you can find your way around I found the angles were a great improvement over other mice because I was able to find my thumb position a little easier especially when reaching for the back six buttons the buttons are also lit with RGB Y lighting there are all sorts of colors and settings you can change but I'll get to that later in the review the cables for the mouse is long and braided there's not much else to say here other than the fact that I've not had any issues looping it around my desk to my computer's back panel so as you

can see the mouse is so far pretty standard however one of the things that people will notice about this mouse is the addition of a third push button on the right by default this button does not have a direct function but instead works as a modifier for the 12 side button look at it like holding Shift + a button this essentially gives you 12 buttons to map in addition to the original 12 for a total of 24 your hand rests on the mouse like normal but your ring from your on the

third button at first this took a while to get used to for so long I've used my ring finger to help push the mouse around now it's this grip you have to use your pinky finger to move the mouse not a huge deal but it will take some getting used to while we're talking about grips I have to mention this is a huge amount I've said before in previous reviews that I have huge hands and finding a mouse that will fit a resting grip that is a grip with your palm resting on the mouse

rather than the fingertips has been hard I think that most people will be able to palm the mouse no problem however if you're someone that likes a fingertip grip this is probably not the mouse for you this mouse is also really heavy personally I love heavy mice as I find I have an easier time controlling it I'd compare it to the Logitech G 500 now that I've reviewed previously with all the weights put in and then some more weights too when you look at the bottom the mouse it

has two large friction pads I actually love this as it gives the mouse more gliding surface in a lot of other minds with smaller pads other mice might wear unevenly but that's not the case here instead of using a faux rubber coating the whole Mouse is a matte black finish this may seem like a negative however I found the rubber coating ends up wearing off on other mice making it look really shabby I've had this mouse for over a year now and there really isn't anywhere

Logitech now has a program that lets you control all the added features of your products this includes mice keyboards and even headsets since I have both a Logitech keyboard and mouse I find it pretty convenient this is a program you're going to want to install because it lets you change all the button mapping profiles and lighting effects is amount in terms of button mapping you can change any button on the mouse to anything you want this includes

keystrokes text blocks and even media functions like pausing music opening your web browser or minimizing everything to the desktop there are a lot of customization options here if you're someone who really likes to tweak things honestly I've only mapped a few buttons to custom functions myself but I'm sure some people are going to really like all the options that give this program also lets you have different profiles for various programs and games this means you can have a custom layout for a game like World War Craft and then another one for default

web browser and then another one for something like overwatch the program can even automatically switch profiles when you load a game again it's not a feature I've used too much because I can see how some people would really like teachers now the lighting section is the area I spent the most time with you can change the button lights to any color or multiple colors you can even make the light breathe like Christmas lights or move between colors randomly

these different patterns can even be saved to profiles if you like I know this is a relatively minor part of the mouth itself but I did find an amazing amount of customization here for you our gby enthusiasts this will be right up your alley you can also have different dpi settings that you can switch on the fly again remember the two buttons to top them out there are just a stupid number of customization options here personally I had three dpi settings that I switched to and leave it at that you on the other hand can have as many as you want or even tie them to the

different profiles you save over all the software is great and gives a lot of options to people who want to tweak the mouse to do exactly what they want let's run through the pros the mouse has a great overall quality and durability I've had the mouse for over a year and not had a single mechanical issue and I'm pretty hard on my equipment by now I'm almost a logitech fanboy because I've never had an issue with one of their products I'm sure there are duds out there but the mice especially have been great this one is no different I've also not had any issues double-

clicking or broken buttons at some on the Amazon reviews mentioned having up to 24 extra buttons is simply fantastic so you play key binding intensive games things like world of warcraft starcraft and the like are all made easier by just using six of the available twelve buttons let alone all 24 I've even found that games don't have that many key bindings benefits from having the side button I often use functions and overwatch and planetside 2 are easier to

reach than they are on the keyboard maybe I'm lazy and you definitely don't need them but I love them you also have the option to really dive into the customization if you want to or don't it's all up to you the mouse is big and heavy again this is all subjective but I like big heavy mice they're easier to control and I can grip it with my palm likewise switching between dpi is smoother than any other Mouse or software that I've used before this may seem like a moot

point since most gaming mice have this feature but I'd like to mention it just in case finally the lighting options are just a cool way to customize the look especially if you have a particular color scheme going along with your build or if you prefer you can just turn them off all up to you while making this review is trying to think of columns for this mouse and I really can't find any the only thing I can think of is that when restarting my computer sometimes the software doesn't load immediately this makes your mouse move at the speed you have it set in Windows

rather than the program speed that said the program loads up in a few seconds and you can move your mouse normally after that again it's a really minor issue and probably some sort of user error but that's it I don't really see any other cause again if you have small hands this may not be the mouse for you because it's quite big also if you like lighter mice and probably aren't going to like this one because it's so heavy once again the last two points are subjective overall I

can't recommend this Mouse enough if you're looking for a mouse with extra buttons on the side in my opinion it's the best one on the market especially when you consider all the customization options the price isn't bad either with it going right now on Amazon as of the recording of this video but that's just my opinion

Logitech G600 MMO Gaming Mouse, RGB Backlit review

at high levels of play massively multiplayer online games can be demanding titles requiring pinpoint precision with a multitude of buttons while MMO players may wonder why a keyboard wouldn't suffice the Logitech g600 MMO mouse can replace a lot of traditional keyboard functions a comfortable design and a wealth of customization options makes this mouse an appealing prospect but the sheer number of buttons can be intimidating for all but

the biggest diehards before we start our g600 review we've included links in the description for pricing options on the mouse so make sure you check those out in terms of comfort the G 600 is a delight for anyone with a palm grip since the thumb controls 12 of its 20 buttons there is no groove for the thumb rather the index finger controls the left button the middle finger controls the right button and the ring finger rests on a third button that activates the mouse's macro

controls at four point six nine ounces the G 600 is a bit heavier than the standard Gaming Mouse and at four point six by two point nine by one point six inches it's quite a bit bulkier too however the heft makes the mouse feel substantial and satisfying to use those who prefer to use claw or fingertip grips should take heed this is not the mouse for you to accommodate the twelfth umm buttons Logitech made the mouse tall and you have to stretch your fingers across

it Chloe's errs will find their grip inefficient while fingertip users won't be able to click the left button at all the thumb buttons themselves are the mouse's main draw but what they offer in versatility they lack in distinctness each button has a slightly different feel but not quite different enough learning to navigate among 12 buttons with just one digit takes some time doing so when the buttons differentiate themselves only through very subtle contours means

that you'll be making a lot of mistakes at first the G 600 is a comfortable Mouse overall but its main draw its plethora of buttons takes some getting used to and could have been easier to use the mouse is also available only in a right-handed conformation so left-handed users are out of luck the primary advantage of an MMO Mouse like the G 600 is that your right thumb is one of the few fingers that isn't doing much from the beginning assigning a skill to each button leaves

your keyboard hand free too focus on character movement or vice-versa we tried the g600 with world of warcraft which relies on multiple toolbars full of varied skills assigning our most frequently used skills to the top three and bottom three buttons was incredibly effective and freed up our left hand to keep our character moving during heated battles not having to reach across the keyboard for skills map to the six seven eight nine zero and minus buttons was also a relief tracking presented no issues whatsoever the cursor responded to our movements with

perfect fidelity at every dpi setting with no discernable jitters or inaccuracies the z axis tracking leaves something to be desired however lifting the mouse off the surface caused the cursor to jump upwards slightly this could have potentially devastating effects in a high-stakes first-person shooter but rarely means life or death in an MMO as an all-purpose gaming mouse the g600 is surprisingly useful in some cases and a bit of a hindrance in others for example while

playing Starcraft 2 we were delighted with how easy it was to assign different units and to squadrons and access them without ever having to grapple with the keyboard on the other hand the extra buttons added nothing to first-person shooter BioShock Infinite while the mouse itself was responsive and functional its unwieldy shape and unusual size made it marginally harder

to aim and fire you could use the G 600 for general gaming but it's designed with one genre in mind and doesn't make many concessions to others so that sums up our Logitech g600 review
